"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Life comes in specific increments, which we receive as a gift of one moment at a time. That's why it's called

Some foods make my symptoms worse, too. I've given up sugar and limit my artificial sweeteners, too. Only 1-2 cups of coffee a day. No soda. I am a habitual snacker, too, Excira, but I found Flav-O-Ice popcycles satify me. 25 calories a piece. And popcorn at night. It takes about 15 minutes to eat it and its fiber.

I rely heavily on drugs for the pain of fibromyalgia. My drug of choice was taken off the market last year (proproxyphene APAP). I only had to take that a couple of times a day. Now, like most of the adult population, I'm taking Hydrocodone 75s 4 times a day along with Gabapentin 4 times a day for the pain. If I miss a dose, I feel flu-ish and very uncomfortable.
I also take meds for reflux, depression, memory (Co-Q-10), an ATP booster and weekly shots of B-12/Methionine/Choline/Inositol from my fibro specialist. Pro-biotics rounds out my daily drug cocktail.

I recently discovered Reumofan Plus for arthritis pain so I take one a day of that and no more pain in my knees, right hip, right shoulder and hands. Now I can exercise more and longer. With all these drugs, I feel as normal as I can. Still fuzzy headed and cognitive problems due to fibro fog. I've lost 18 pounds since getting back on Sparkpeople and this time around I have a weight-loss buddy so we challenge each other. I see her every Thursday and we talk about how our week went and choose a challenge for the coming week. It keeps us honest.

I'm glad to be back to journaling my food/exercise on this site, plus "being" with others that have fibromyalgia to learn about new therapies/drugs, etc.

Feel good,
valmark

Hi, like you I lost and came back. I was dragging my feet about meeting my full potential.

I have had fibro for 16 yrs. It's a daily challenge, and I learn so much from everyone here. It helps a lot!!
I just started work after an hour at the gym and no one understands why I look so smashed. It used up most of my energy but it still helps me to cope better throughout the day.

I just have to look for a smile in the day and hope for a cure! Good luck today and welcome back! emoticon

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I've learned that what I eat has a great deal to do with my Fibromyalgia. For example, corn starch causes a great deal of pain throughout my entire body as well as peanuts, eggs and wheat. So, I'm now on a raw diet but the thing is... well, I snack a lot! Those calories has been adding up and, to top it off, when I'm out meeting clients, I will grab a salad - and just ealized this morning that some salads are over 500 calories! Ouch!

It's a learning process.

How are you feeling with your Fibro?

Hello all!

I was on Spark for over a year, met all my goals and then deleted my account. That was around 2 years ago and my weight has started to creep back up - so here I am!

My Fibro was diagnosed in April 2010 - after 12 years of not being diagnosed. It was hard and I'm still learning so... between losing 15+ lbs and handling my Fibro... I'm back and ready to hit the ground running!

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Irish smiles!
