There is a blood test for an abnormal inflammatory response... can't remember what its called!... and besides the rheumatologist, ask about seeing a neurologist too.

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm! P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!
Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL
it really sounds like you have fibro i hope the cymbalta helps as you know all medicines work differently for people and no test will show or prove you have fibro but you can be treated for some of the symptoms hope every thing works out
with God all things are possible im judy lets do this
Hi, my name is Laurie I'm a 36yr old mother of two. Up until Christmas Day I was a very healthy pain free person, other than reflux I really had no health issues. Christmas day I had the Stomach Flu, and due to a stomach surgery I am not physically able to throw up. So for 10.5 hrs I heaved, the whole time complaining how it was killing my chest. Well from the force of the heaving I sprained my chest, I have Costco Chondritis which is the inflamation of the cartiledge between the ribs and chest plate. Two weeks later I end up in the ER because my mouth feels like it's been scolded but it hasn't. They give me benedryl and send me on my way. Shortly there after, my skin starts to feel like its sunburned, but its not, and there are no rashes or redness. Everywhere my clothing touches it it feels prickly. After the skin starts joint pain and muscle weakness/cramping. I've already been to the GI and dermotologist and heading to the Rhuemotolgist next month. My family doctor who I love, has not confirmed Fibro, but it is whats she's thinking, brought on by the stress of the chest sprain. Needless to say I have been in pain for the past three months and it's taken it's toll. Next week I'm starting Cymbalta (Sp?) for emotional and pain. I absolutely hate feeling this way and pray each morning I will wake up feeling as I did on Christmas Eve, pain free. I can't tell you how many tests they have already run on me, blood work, chest xrays, endoscopy, ultrasounds, etc and according to all the test I'm 100% healthy. Wish I felt as good as I look on paper, LOL. Some days are better than others, which is great. Mostly I want to get back to working out, but am afraid. Everytime I do either my chest flares up, or I end up waking up in the Middle of the night with charlie horses like you cant believe (and yes my potassium is normal too). Any suggestions?
