Happy to be your buddy! I went from 220 pounds after my first to 125, tho now I'm at a more (ahem) robust 161. So it can be done, even with the challenge of taking care of kids. I have two , 8 and 10, and still miss the newborn days terribly. Happy to help be a cheering section. I really think the key to this working is the support of others.

Hi Mommies! I'm a new mommy. My son will be 8 weeks this Thursday. I have my plate full with a full time job, a new born, a husband, house chores, cooking, etc. I'm trying to stay commited to working out at least 15 minutes at least 4 times a week. Mommies really are super heros! They juggle it all and make it look so simple at times. I want to be a slimmer, healthier, and active super mommy! Let's see what we can do to help each other out! Share our plans maybe with a on-line buddy and check in on each other! Happy Tuesday!!

Wow, your son asked you to make stuffed peppers? OK, I am officially impressed. Neither of my kids have ever touched a pepper! Migraines are miserable and I'm sure make it harder to stay motivated. My challenge is I had foot surgery nearly a year ago on both feet and the result is I get lots of foot pain if I walk, stand or run -- I can still take walks with my kids, etc., but no treadmills, hiking, or jogging for me. I use an exercise bike or swim. It's hard to get in exercise if walking leaves you in pain, but I'm not letting it get me down. We all have physical maladies or challenges at some point, so I figure it's my job to try to make exercise fun even if I can't do my favorite exercise. I used to approach a diet with a huge all or nothing approach -- I'll work out every day, never touch a piece of chocolate, etc. -- and of course that was a set up to failure. So I find being realistic and celebrating accomplishments is much more realistic -- like you seven pounds. That's awesome, way to go.

It is great to have someone hold you accountable and going through some of the same struggles as I am. I was excited today because I lost 7lbs just by watching what I have been eating and trying to exercise a little more. Still need to exercise more, but I definately feel like I am on the right track! I also make something different for my family at times or i will eat a little of the main dish and fill up on a salad. I was impressed that my son asked me to make stuffed peppers this week. It really does help to track the calories and to see what I am eating. Also I get migraines on a regular basis so it is also nice to look back and see what I have eaten that day when I wake up with one or get one. you sound like you are also doing a great job. keep up the hard work! :) We can do it. My goal is to be able to wear a bikini by the end of summer. :)

Happy to be a buddy, I could use one too. Congrats on working to get healthier, it can be a challenge with a busy schedule and, like most of us, we tend to put our kids needs first. My two girls 8 and 9 (10 this week!) are learning they have to let Mom have her work out time. Instead of feeling guilty, I remind myself I'm setting a good example for them. I make sure never to put down my weight and to talk about wanting to be healthy and strong. Mine are way picky eaters too, so ai tend to make them something different fom my meals. But you're doing great and kudos for reaching out for a buddy. I know you can do this!

I am also looking for someone to help me be accountable and stick with the plan. I am a 36 year old working mom with a 9 year old and 6 year old who are picky eaters. My husband is also a picky eater and likes few vegetables. I have difficulty finding time to exercise and difficulty cooking healthy meals that my whole family will eat! I have eaten healthy and exercised most of my life, but now that I work full- time and have two children, my needs get put aside and my metabolism is not like it used to be now that I am in my 30s! I would like to lose 35lbs in order to get my body back! If anyone has any suggestions to get my kids/husband to eat more healthy foods and recipes that are healthy and quick, please let me know.

Hi guys,

I'm also looking for an online buddy to help keep me motivated. I was hoping we could send a little note to each other 4-5 times a week, and check in about what's going well and what's not going well. Personally, I find it easier to be totally honest online or with someone who has similar goals and stresses (rather than my fit, thin, husband who can eat anything and still be in shape).

I'm a new mom, my daughter is 8 months now, and as she's becoming more mobile I'm hoping I can become more active too! Maybe we can share tips on how to 'play' that would be also decent exercise.

Anyway, if you're interested, let me know!

It's like we could write each other's stories! I have two little ones, a full time job, and many pounds to lose. Cooking is not my favorite, nor is shopping or preparing fresh food. I am trying though. We can all bolster each other just checking here maybe.

I'm looking for an on-line buddy too. :) Maybe we can help each other. I'm a 31-year old working mom, married for 2 years, with a 1 year old. I'm trying to find motivation, and maybe some organization in my life. My DH is now suggesting we try for Baby #2, but I know I have weight to lose to get back into a healthier place again. I don't have a positive relationship with food either...or maybe I have too positive of a relationship because I enjoy it a little TOO much. I often find myself snacking on something without every realising that I picked it up and it's all too tempting for me to go for the greasy, easy option, than to spend 45 minutes cooking. All things I need to change, and find balance in a crazy household while working full-time and taking care of a little one and husband. :)

Wishing you the best on your journey here towards a new lifestyle!

I found that joining CrossFit was the best decision I ever made (for health). It is pricey but there is no boring workouts, the trainers are fantastic and since I am competitive by nature (but not athletic), I enjoy the format of the workouts. Check it out....there are lots of motivating friends that I have made there.

are you looking for an on-line buddy or someone in your local area?
If you are looking for someone on-line I will help you. I noticed your mentioned only food do you have the activity under control because they go hand in hand to be successful.
If you want someone local you can meet with then I would suggest you use the buddy finder on the start page

Hi. I'm a 35-year-young first-time mom to a little boy who is now 5 months old. I've been married for just over a year. I went from 74kg at my wedding in October 2011, to 92kg now, five months after giving birth. I don't recognise my body, and I'm so uncomfortable in it, it's affecting my relationship with my husband. I know it's because I don't have a positive relationship with food, which is something I've always struggled with, and can sometimes get bogged down with a defeatist attitude.

I'm looking for a buddy who wants to focus on improving their relationship with food and eating well, as the main way to lose weight.

Would love to find someone I can support and who can support me!
