Running behind! Signed up last month, but haven't even taken time to really learn my way around the site. I have been putting in 14 to 18 hr days for last 3 to 4 weeks, so I haven't had much spare time. Hope I can slow down a little and concentrate on my health and fitness more.

I've been doing this for a month and found this team so wanted to join. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I'm good at losing but not so good at keeping it off. I lost 3.5 pounds this month and hope to lose more in September. I also have hypothyroidism so my metabolism is pretty slow. I've learned a lot over the past month and I hope to keep going down the road to being healthy!

If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always got!

emoticon thought it was about time I got on to say hello. I am a single mum of 2 girls and work casually as a hairdresser. I need to loose weight as i have gall stones and am waiting to have my gall bladder removed. I would also love to feel good about the way I look as I have been heavy since i was a child.

Hello everyone, I guess I haven't introduced myself yet... I joined Spark on August 1st after weighing myself and getting thoroughly disgusted with the new highest weight I'd ever been in my life. I had been thin all my life but since hitting the mid-40's the weight has been creeping on and, although I had noticed the gradual weight creep, I hadn't changed my bad eating habits even though my doctor has been fussing at me for years to lower my cholesterol.

So far I've Sparked away 10 pounds since joining and I'm LOVING this website. What a blessing it is. In this case the saying "you get what you pay for" may be true since this website is priceless!

Hello everyone I am keepgoing4ward here to lose weight and to become more healthy for myself as well as my family. I have two baby girls and a husband. I am trying to lose baby weight and get down to a weight that I am comfortable at which was my college weight of 160 however I will be happy just losing 50lbs. Hi my name is Romy. I just had my first baby 6 weeks ago. I gained a total of 65 lbs during my pregnancy. I still have a total of 33 lbs left for me to shed. I havent started working out yet due to doctors orders. I have 2 more weeks before I could begin, but I have been eating healthier. Little by little. It's been hard going from eating whatever my little baby craved to a strict diet. So I've been making healthier eating choices and eliminating a couple of things at a time and its really been working for me.

36 year old guy from Eastern Canada with about 55 lbs to shed. Married, no kids, but two fluffy cat fur-babies.

This is my "second attempt" at Sparkpeople, but certainly not my fist or second attempt at shedding the pounds. Going to try and engage the "community" this go around, which is something I did not do in the past.

Now..."why lavander?" It's not that I have an affinity for the color purple. :) It's actually my initials + first 6 characters of my last name. Since it comes close to spelling "lavender", it just stuck as a good username.

Hi everyone my name is Damita, I'm new here an so far I am having a ball. I like this sight so much better than any other that I have tried, because it keeps me involved and shows me where I am. I am a single mother of two and my youngest is two going on twenty, my oldest is 8 going on thirty, I think they both have been here before lol. I never loss the the baby weight from either pregnancy and the birth control after the first blew me an extra 80 lbs on top of being a thick girl all my life. But with this program and my new attitude I see the light and I am so ready for the new me. Good luck to all and it was nice sharing a piece of my story.

Hi all. Greg here. I didn't realize I had not introduced myself to this team until I saw an email in my inbox. (from Lita to the whole team I believe). Anyway, there were some good tips right off the bat there...esp the one about not getting overwhelmed with this great site.

I've only been on here for about a week (my wife has been here a little longer). I decided I'd join too so that I can lose some extra weight, and not sabotage my wife's efforts. I'm looking forward to tracking things and becoming a healthier eater...and this seems like a very nice site.

I'm Kat, I'm 23, I've been married 11 months, and my husband, who is military, will be gone for the next 11 months... so I'm taking the time, while I have lots of it, and no distractions, to finally lose the excess weight I've had since my teenage years. I realized that with no one to shop or cook for but me, and no post-pregnancy weight or "mature" metabolism issues to deal with, now is the best time to do it. Hey, there, everyone! My name is John, and I've been on SparkPeople for a few days now, but haven't yet gotten around to my introductions! I'm 23, stuck in a college rut (that I will hopefully emerge from in the next year), and I'm currently doing quite a lot of work for quite a little paycheck. Most of my work centers around theatre, so I'm more or less of a starving actor.

I've always been an incredibly picky eater, with an aversion to certain textures, and everyone around me has been concerned about my health for years. I'm finally starting to agree with them, so I'm doing something about it here. Good morning! Or at least it's morning here in Mass. I am Christeen, 33 and 10 months into my marriage to a great man. He's a letter carrier, in good shape (although my cooking has given him a belly!) So here I am, I've gained and gained and gained since before my wedding. I am a stress eater and just couldn't focus. I am having a hard time cooking for 2 since I come from a family of 8. I didn't live with my husband prior to marriage and now feel like I've got a lot to learn for quantity and quality. We love a good frozen pizza at least once a week! Not good!

I everyone. I'm Stephanie, stay at home mom of 2 girls, wife to a great man and a couch potato! I am a stress eater and staying home causes more stress for me than it should! I was successful with WW about 8 yrs ago but let the good habits go. SInce then I've had my 2 kids and eaten too much and gotten into the habit of snacking at night. I really love the accountability of this site. So far it seems to be doing the trick to help me get motivated to make changes. I hope we can all be a great support to each other.

HI! I'm Samantha, and I have just turned 30 a few weeks ago and I have decided that I am not going to spend the next decade of my life over weight. Three years ago I went to a nutritionist who helped me learn how to eat right. I started on a calorie plan and carb plan and I walked everyday. I lost almost 40lbs. Then the holidays were here and vacation and I lost focus. I gained all 40 lbs and and additional 33. So I am back to loose 155lbs to get me to my goal weight of 160lbs. I am excited for this new adventure in my life, and this time I WILL succeed!

Hi! My name is Christina. I've done different things with regards to weight loss, but I've had trouble sticking with them. Last year I managed to lose 30lbs, but then a lot of crazyness happened and I gained 20lbs back. So I'm looking to lose those 20lbs again and an additional 30.

Hi, I'm Lissi and I'm about to go into my final year of university and I really, really want to lose that stubborn extra weight I've been carrying around! Hi Everyone! I'm Carolyn and I joined the SP community on Thursday. Yesterday I ended up very sick for most of the day but I'm back on track today, starting with a long walk with my dog. I've already saved most of the routes I take with my dog so all I have to do from here on out is select which route I took and the time. I will be adding some other exercises today and tomorrow as I go about my day.

Thanks for being here. I appreciate it greatly. Don't want to do this on my own and i love the tools and community you have here. I was recently at my highest weight (again) and am trying very hard to reverse the process so I can be fit, thin and healthy. This has been hard in the past because of old injuries (broken neck) and chronic health issues that make it difficult to stay on course - non-working thyroid gland, fibromyalgia, latent Lymes, latent Chronic Fatigue. I rarely know when i'm over doing an activity until the next day. I know there's a difference between good pain and injury pain. I don't mind the good pain at all. It's the injury pain that worse each time i aggravate various conditions that wreaks havoc with my energy levels, ability to keep up with workouts and mostly on my emotional welfare. Regardless, I get back up and try again just as soon as (and too often before) I'm ready.

My name is Holly. I'm a 28 yr old married mother of 1 boy. I signed up last week and was getting ready to roll out the door last friday to go shopping and my hubby declared he would do this new thing with me...and that he already got groceries for the week. We agreed we'd start our new way of eating this friday.

I was always thin. I joined the Army in 2000 (which is where I met Chris) and came back from deployment to Iraq underweight even though I was eating 4 times a day (the HEAT!) Right after we got back I got pregnant. I put on about 45 lbs during pregnancy and have continued to gain since then-another 25 lbs. I'd like my Army body back. I just felt so much better when I was doing PT and eating better. I'm glad Chris decided to do this with me even though he missed the big note on the fridge this morning telling him what he was supposed to eat for breakfast. Glad to be part of the team.

Carrying a bit of extra weight doesn't devalue you as a person. I'm sure you are already a great wife, mum etc etc. We all have different reasons for wanting to become healthier. I have two grandsons to keep up with.(and several dresses hanging in the wardrobe that are just about to come back into fashion!) Put yourself on the front burner and show them all how much you can glow! You are unique and amazing. Never forget that.

Hi my name is Jennifer. I am married to a super husband who is gone on military duty about 75% of the time. We have 2 teenagers and a terrier. Taking care of myself has always been on the backburner (since my 18 yr. old was born!) I'm tired of the backburner so I want to burn my fat now! I feel better after I've exercised. My name is Kristen, I am 36 yrs old (for another few weeks), I have been married for two years and have a son who is 12. Over the past several yrs I have gained 19 lbs. I have been fortunate enough not to gain any weight over the past year but I am also unable to loose any weight. I will be starting The Smash Diet on Sunday 8/8/10. Wish me luck!

Hey everyone! My name is Miranda. I'm from Panama City where the girls are tan and skinny... except me. :) I used to fit right on in the crowd and now I feel like I get stares for all the wrong reasons! I'm married w/ no children (but trying) and I just want to get back to being the person I was much happier with. I just found out that my sugar is high and I need to get myself in check if I ever want to be around for my family. Hi I am Bella. I am 31 years old. I don't believe in dieting. I believe in life style changes so I am off to a healthier me and trying to curb the addiction to soda. I was on the webpage for breastfeeding moms and instead I gained weight I found out my thyroid was bad. Now my son is a year old and its time to get me back to the old me. I stumbled into this site off a youtube video for an balance ball ab workout, I was getting bored with mine..seems really uncomplicated and kind of fun! I run Marathon's and Im working my way up to Ultra Distances and am hoping i can drop some weight watching waht i eat more, or just get the meals made for me, so i dont have to think as much. My profile covers anything else, you want to know i thinks...have a super day! Hello it's my first day w/Spark. I'm a 35 year old single mother of two middle school children in upstate NY. I have always been a little rounder than the rest. But in the past decade between having two kids gall bladder removal, my divorce, and partial hysterectomy I ended up gaining lots of weight. I'd loose about 18-25 then gain it back. I let it get out of control. I've tried all things from Weight Watchers to Nutrisystem Southbeach, Atkins,etc...Start off great then about 2 months in even with results somewhere I give up and it comes right back. I say my willpower is time released...lol others tell me I just don't care. But I do I want to live long enough to see my kids do all the important things and maybe have another relationship that is fulfilling...support is key I think..who knows lets see.

Hello everyone! A friend suggested I join Spark people back in June, but I misplaced the paper she wrote the info on and just now found it! My husband found the paper for me and asked me to join because he is worried about my health. I hope that I can lose some weight both for him and more importantly, myself.

I'm a newlywed living in Northern VA at the in-laws house because of the lack of money in this oh-so-lovely economy. I'm trying to find a job right now and to get use to living in the area. I'm from the Wabash Valley area of Indiana originally.

I just recently got married July 3 and my husband is very supportive with me and always has very healthy and encouraging words* very very loving man and I'm proud to be his wife.
