Hi I'm back on Sparkpeople. I joined this group way back when--well back when I didn't really know how to get involved and interact with an online support community.

So, we will see where this takes us. Best wishes to all. It's hard to believe that over 10,000 people joined this community in that short length of time.

Hi all,
I'm Adoma, I'm 24, from London, England. I most definitely have not lost as much weight since last June as I would have liked to. BUT then again, in line with my new positive thinking, I have at least not GAINED in the last 7 months, which is better than ever before.

I am so dedicated to this right now it's unreal. I love Spark, and I feel like i've made a few really good friends on here. Obviously, I'm human, and I have my rough times, I tumble and don't log on for a couple of weeks, and then I come back determined to push ahead. The fact that i'm writing this today means that, even if I have taken one step backwards here and there, I'm always pushing ahead with my two steps.

Here's to the next few months. I'm really looking forward to our 1 year Spark-versary, where we can all feel really proud of our achievements.

I wonder how many of us are still active?! Hmmmm....

Hey, I'm Ang and I am married, kid free, and employed at multiple jobs - teaching, working with developmentally delayed clients, and group fitness instructor.

I love to work out, read - my Kobo is my best friend, cook, and spend time with my friends and their families.

I have been struggling with my weight most of my adult life and i am heading to the obesity clinic in the city this month to figure out why I am not losing, despite generally good eating and fitness habits.

Hi all! I'm jan, a stay at home mother, who is home schooling my two teenagers. My step daughter, 25, just got married on 12/31/10, and my oldest son lives out of state with his girlfriend and my only grandbaby, who will be 2 on St. Patty's day. My dh, and love of my life, is a manager at Cracker Barrel, and so, there are many times I am a "single parent" when it comes to the children and feel like a chicken with its head cut off getting them from place to place.

I was told about Sparkpeople by a doctor about 4 years ago. I used it for a while, but then walked away and, SUPRISE!, gained all the weight back.

So, when another doctor told me I had to give up my eggs for breakfast because my cholesterol was high, I decided to prove him wrong, and came back to SP. I've been fairly diligent in the last 6 months with the program and have lost about 25 pounds, although I couldn't exercise much for about 8 weeks due to a torn meniscus and follow up surgery. Now that I am "healthy," I plan on maxing my weight loss and doing what I know I should be doing to be successful on this journey. (By the way, I still eat my 2 eggs for breakfast most days!)

emoticon Here's to all of us being successful and having a blessed 2011!
~jan

Hi All

My name is Heather. I am a mother of 2 young girls, and DH and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this past September. I have lost a total of 43 pounds total (some of it prior to joining SP). I have not lost any over the last couple of weeks, but I have not gained either. I have been a bit sidelined by a nagging hip injury that prevents me from being able to get in any meaningful exercise. Still getting in what I can which is why I have been maintaining instead of gaining. I am frustrated though because I was really hoping to get down to 210 by the first of the yaer. Unless Something radical happens with the hip in the early part of the week, I don't think that will happen.

I work in retail, so this was a REALLY hectic day at work for me. The next few weeks will mean lots of extra hours for me and probably less spark time, but I will be keeping everyone in my thoughts til after the busy season blows over!

Hi all,

I'm Sylvia and I've been here longer than most of the team. I volunteered to lead a Spark Class, and this group inherited me.emoticonlol

I'm from Milan, Illinois--part of the "Quad Cities." I'm a 25th year elementary teacher and the mother of 8 who are all turning into grown ups with accelrating speed. My husband and I seem to be pretty busy with a lot almost all of the time.

It took me a while to get my feet grounded here at SP. but I am really on my plan these days. I am a believer in this program and want to help others to find their way here as well. I am always astounded that this program which would cost a fair amount of money with other groups is free. That alone makes this site a win-win for everyone. I believe that you can do this and if we don't reach out to you, please say something. I personally want for nobody to be left on their own. Support is key to your success!!emoticon

Gentle hugs,
Sylvia

Hi team! My name's Adoma (or Adz for short). I just turned 24 (on the 14th November) and I live in London, England.

I'm going to be honest, in the past 5 months I have probably had 6 weeks of "bad times", where I fell off the wagon and didn't eat/exercise like I promised myself I would. However, I am not beating myself up about it. I am on this journey, and I have lost a lot of weight since joining Spark, I feel SO much better about myself, I feel so much more attractive, a million times fitter, I look better, my clothes fit better, I'm wearing clothes that I haven't been able to fit into for like a year. And that's all down to Spark.

I still have a long way to go, but I'm getting there. I feel like I really have got this in my stride, and now I do actually feel like it's a lifestyle, not just a diet. Most of all, I am enjoying it; enjoying meeting new people on here, enjoying seeing other people's journeys, enjoying learning something new everyday, and enjoying all my accomplishments.

Let's keep going guys. emoticon

Mary from Canada. Finding SparkPeople was the best thing I have ever done. Love it. So much great information and people who are supportive and friendly. Connected with a couple of other awesome groups in the beginning and recently a couple more. I feel so much better, look so much better. Have gone from size 2X or 22 to about a 14. When I step on the scale tomorrow, I suspect I will have lost 60 lbs by now (about 15 prior to Sparks). Still 22 lbs until goal and I have no doubt that I will get there.
Would love to hear other stories. Very thankful for Sparks and all it has to offer.

Hi there,

The week that you joined SP and automatically became a member of our Spark Team was a pretty busy one for all of us. You were all learning about SP and this wonderfully rich site. Over 10,000 people were listed as members of this team back in late June and early July.

Things have certainly settled down for many of us and it is a good time for our active team members to reintroduce themselves and share how things have been going. (I am also going to send a SparkMail out to everyone!!)

Please take a moment to introduce yourself and a little about who you are--you might include your location, how things are going for you with SP. and anything that might help you out as well as other relevant information.

Congratulations on almost 5 months of becoming your very best!!

Gentle hugs,
Sylvia
