emoticon Paula! I am glad you joined the team! If you are in need of any help along the way, please let me know. I would be glad to be of some assistance. I remember what it was like to be new to the site four years ago. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Brandnewme2012A! emoticon to our team! I am the team leader so if you have any questions, I will try really hard to answer them, but if I can't answer your question, I can direct you to someone who can. The two most important resources that I feel are necessary on Spark People are the nutrition tracker and the fitness tracker! Once you learn how to use both of those resources, your off to a emoticon start! The nutrition tracker is great because it lets you be accountable for everything that you eat and drink every day. The fitness tracker is nice because it lets you see how many calories your burning in a week. Also, if you don't already have one, I would recommend getting a heart monitor that fits on your wrist! This is supper important so you can keep track accurately of the calories your burning. I hope this is a start! Good luck with your journey! emoticon emoticon emoticon

hello everyone,

I am new to Spark People and to the team. I need to lose at least 150 pounds. I just signed up for this team because I know I need to exercise. It's just staying motivated is my problem. If I can find a buddy to share the motivation and pep talks that would be great.

I want to be healthy for myself it is a lifelong goal.
dont know too much about this site so any advice would help.

emoticon Paula and emoticon to our team! I would love to help you to achieve your goals! It sounds like I started over a year ago at the same weight that you are and my goal was to get down to 135. It's a small world! I can give you some suggestions on how I did it if that would help, but really the main things are to track everything you eat and drink every day no matter how small they seem to you and to exercise every day even if it's for 10 minutes at a time, that is better then nothing. I do track my nutrients including my sodium which in my opinion is something that everyone should keep track of because if you take in too much sodium, then you are always gaining water weight. If you need more suggestions, please talk to me because I am always glad to help! emoticon emoticon

emoticon members! Have you befriended someone on Spark People that needs a buddy? We all need someone we can be accountable too especially in the difficult times when we feel like giving up! There are so many new members out there, so let us know if you have became someone's Spark Friend, and if you haven't now is the time! Have a blessed day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon emoticon I had a member email me this morning asking what she could do to help to become another team members buddy. Here is the topic I have set up just for that! If any of you are interested in becoming a buddy, just put that information under this topic. Also, if you are new to the team, there is a specific topic set up for that too. Instead of creating multiple entries, please try and keep it all in one place so that members don't get multiple emails for the same thing. Thank you for your help! Have a blessed day! emoticon emoticon

emoticon Welcome to our team Nessam80! We are pleased to have you as part of our team! I wish you the best with your goals and we are here to emoticon you ever step of the way! I have made this topic so that others will see you are new to the team, and maybe would want to buddy up with you. Unfortunately I can't be buddies with everyone, but I am sure there are other members on the team who you could be accountable to. However, I am always here to give you support and advice as a team leader! Also, I could always use as many emoticon as the Lord brings my way! Have a blessed day! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Team!
This is a post that I received from one of our new members, Rtroxell007, she is in need of a spark buddy! I hope someone will step up and help motivate and encourage our new members!

Hey all! Looking for motivating spark buddies! Maybe some other moms or just anyone who is dedicated to making a lifestyle change & NOT JUST DIETING! :) I have over 50 pounds to lose & maintain my ideal weight. I have 5 kids. I'm a full time student, pursuing nursing. I'm also a part time home health aide. My life is crazy busy & I need to be at 100% to really enjoy it!

emoticon Hello Team! This is a place where new members can come and introduce themselves. Once they do that, we can set them up with a buddy system. I have always felt that having someone to be accountable to helps in your success! So members let's get out there and be a Spark Buddy! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
