Hi-
I joined May 8th but am new to this team. I completed the 28 day-10 minute challenge so far. I am also considering the 28 day Bootcamp challenge, if I can get my courage up and follow through on the commitment.

Hi This is my first time on SP. I am Kathy, 59, live in Florida. I am married. I have two boys (men), 4 grandchildren, 4 step children and 4 step grandchildren.
I was originally an Iowa farm girl. A great place to grow up. Lived in Houston and New Jersey. I see several of you live in Iowa so we have something in common. I lived near Oakland about 25 minutes east of Council Bluffs. Still have several cousins in the home area.

I am a yoyo with the weight. I lose - I gain it back. It is difficult for me, because I was very thin until 33; then, I gained a few pounds every year. Now I understand to stop - I have to change my ways. This month I at least maintained with 1 pound lost and 1 pound gain, but I didn't go over my starting point. I wear a step counter and I am listing my food.

I started a e-commerce business selling nursery furniture. www.princesbabycrib.com . This keeps me busy, but also sitting too much in front of the computer. I need to find time to exercise more. We have a fitness room at the Country Club and I try to use it. I have been doing better, but not good enough. I am looking forward to making friends and losing weight for good.

This is my first time on SP. I'm 28 years old. No kids, no husband, and no pets. But I live a very full, active life. Long story short, I started gaining weight when I was about 7 and it went unchecked for years. I had other social and physical problems to deal with first. Once those were resolved, I could focus on the weight. I joined WW in 2007 and lost 40 lbs. I was 30 lbs away from goal. I gained 15 of those pounds back. I always told myself I refuse to go back to 200 lbs and I've kept that promise. But, I have a goal in mind. My brother is getting married to my old college roommate next year (I inadvertently set then up) in Jamaica. I need to be in the best shape of my life. I have roughly 10 months. Honestly, I think I can do it with the right help.

So what's my problem? Eating! I love to eat all the wrong things: pasta, bread, sweets, etc... The only reason I haven't gained all the weight back is because I'm at the Y four to five times a week for more than an hour. I'm in spin class two to three times a week (have my own cleats). I take Pilates, Water Aerobics, Body Pump, and a Stretch class on top of that. What's weird is that I love to workout. I use to hate it but I've found things I love to do. If it hadn't been for my ego (I refuse to let anything completely defeat me) and a love for cycling, I would hate the gym. It's improved my mood, social skills, and energy level. I'm working out way too hard and not losing weight.

So, I'm going to take SP more seriously in these coming months. I hope you'll see less of me.

I'm 26. I'm from western Kentucky. I've never been hugely overweight, just unhappy with the way I look. I have borderline high cholesterol, and am trying not to follow my dad's path in that area. I'm new to SP, and I love all the information that is packed into one website. Hopefully it'll help me get going and get to where I want to be.

I thought I had already introduced myself, but I probably forgot to hit post. LOL.

I'm 42 *gasp* and have recently packed on some weight (25+lbs) in the past 6 months. Not sure how it got on there as I thought I was "maintainging" well. Guess that doesn't work if you don't record what you eat or track your weight or measurements!

Live and learn.

HI, my name is Wendy. I'm from Iowa. I lost 42 pounds on WW and am really close to that goal, but have gotten over my comfort weight. I'm mainly doing this to get healthier! I would like to set a good example for my 2 children Tyler almost 7 and Kendra age 2.I can't believe it took me this long to start chatting...guess I thought I didn't need to, but the reality is I need some support. Hello again. A wonderful thing happened to me. At a weekend wedding and working out in the hotel exercise room. Feeling fat and out of sorts (I forgot most of my exercise clothes). After I left, a woman struck up a conversation with my husband and told him she wanted to be like me when she was 60--looking fit and strong. Wow--that's not how I felt at all. But I was there--doing what I need to everyday to be centered and healthy. emoticon

Hello all! I'm new to this website. I am a mother of 4 birth children, 3 step children and 2 granddaughters and 2 more grandchildren on the way. I work out regularly with my fitness trainer, Chuck Jackson, doing a program called Fitnastics and I love it. I still struggle with a lot as I work split shifts 5 days a week. I also have a child that has to eat Gluten free, which adds to the struggles of feeding 6 people under one roof.

Hello! I'm 34 with three wonderful girls. 13, 11 and 2! I joined this site because I really need to keep track of what I'm eating and hopefully gain some more motivation to exercise regularly again. I was obsessive about exercising before and I want to get back into the swing of things. I only have a few pounds that I would like to see come off, but more than that, I just need to be more physically active again.

Hey everyone,
Well its taken me a week to say 'HI". I'm married, in my 40s with 4 kids. Have always had issues with my weight. Even in my thinner days, I was always told I was overweight and that has stuck with me forever. Easily put on a lot when pregnant, but since the youngest is 13, I really can't claim "baby fat" any longer. I've tried WW, but just am not up to going to meetings again. This past week has been eye opening. I'm really looking for a buddy to join me on this journey.

Hello all.
I'm coming in late to this, sorry about that!

I'm HUGE and only recently discovered this fact. Yes, its true. I had NO IDEA I was almost 200 lbs...thought I was doing great. I thought Iwas being careful, thought I didn't need to weigh myself or track what I ate. I thought I was near 180 tops.

Yeah, what a lesson this is. Obviously what I think isn't all that accurate or even important. :D

I hope hitting the reply button will put this post in the correct area.
I teach first grade, single, middle aged woman. This past fall I purchased my own home (hurray!)
While flitting through Bings search engine I found Sparkpeople. This coming weekend will be my first week with Sparks. Hopefully, I will be able to stick to the regime and get back some of my long forgotten healthy habits.

What is your diet like?? I was able to shed 7 lbs being completely lazy, but watching my intake. I was floored! I understand what it feels like to lose so much & can't keep it off. It does get harder when what you're doing stops working. I can help!

Hey Team! My name is Jennifer & I'm a simple girl of 22 years with a bright personality!!! My goal is to change my eating habits & general lifestyle. I have been on this road for many years now. At last, I am but only 20 lbs shy of my first "big goal", having met small goals to get there. I have found that eating healthier deters me from even LOOKING at fatty, sugary foods anymore. My diet consists of, but not limited to, fresh produce & 100% whole grain, whole milk & occational treats. For fitness, I try to go walking or spend a non-stop hour at the gym & suana. I'm at this alone! I'm open to suggests, support or just common conversation ! Good luck to all!

Hello everyone. I'm 26 years old. I have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I was lucky enough to have come home from the hospital with her weighing less than when I got pregnant. Needless to say... because I'm here... my metabolism did not continue like it did when I was pregnant. We are thinking about a second child and I want to lose until that happens. When I get pregnant I hope to continue spark for support with a well balanced diet and immediate support after. I used the weight loss as an excuse last time to not exercise and watch calories as much. I told myself "atleast I weigh less than I did." I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Hello! I love the tools on this site, especially the way I can see the fiber, calcium, potassium, folate, etc in addition to the calories, carbs, fat and protein. It is a challenge to get the nutrients your body needs into the calorie range target. The tools help you do that. I think this is an awesome site. I am just starting to learn what is here.

Hi, I am Kris. I need to finish up my weight loss and was getting stuck. I think we need constant reminding of what we need to do to maintain and keep our weight healthy and though I was doing really well I need a little boost to get to the end. This site is really great and I am positive this will help me get to my final goal.

I am almost 35 years old. I have been married for almost 10 years and we have 3 beautiful children, 1 boy (almost 8) and 2 girls (almost 5 & 3 1/2).

I wasn't heavy in high school but I thought I was. I only got bigger. My weight hasn't really changed since my littlest was born.

I need the motivation to get up off the couch and get active. I work full-time and then come home to care for the kids and I'm just so tired that I can't get it done. I KNOW I would feel better after I did it, I just need to do it.

Vicki

Hello Everyone,
My name is Maggie and I joined because I just need some motivation to lose those last 20lbs. Summer is coming and I want to be beach-ready! I love to read, swim, and have a coffee with friends. I like this site because it kind of holds you accountable, if I go over my calorie count or don't exercise, the site shows me! Being a visual person, this is pretty helpful - lets see how long it will work! lol

Best of luck to everyone in reaching your goals!
-Maggie

Greetings Sparkers! My name is Holly, I'm 25 and a newly single mother of a beautiful little girl. I'm here to lose 50 pounds in 2010. I've lost about 25 pounds since January but my motivation was all over. I'm not new to SP, it's worked for me in the past but I've never gotten down to my goal weight. I can feel that this time will be different!

Hello all! I found this site looking for a calorie counter and support for the HCG diet I am on. I lost about 70 lbs 08-09 but have gained 40 back. I'm pretty hungry so I am feeling a little frustrated and in need of encouragement! I'm at 176.4 today. I've had a 3 day stall but did not stick to plan this weekend, but then again I still didn't really get to eat much either!

I too am trying this program again but I am having issues with motivation. All my life I have had a yo-yo issue with my weight. I am supposed to be between 127- 133. I can seem to only get down to 140 and then pounds slowly creep back on. Usually when I get up to 154 is when I go full force diet and exercise. But when I do that is seems to take all of my time and energy to stay eating healthy and fitting in workouts. I have three kids, 16, 15, and 12 and all are in activities some even two or more. Now I am at 160 and I don't have the want to put that much time and energy into me. I don't want diet and exercise to consume all of my time. I want to be spending that time with my children and my husband. The want to do daily chores has also left me. I don't know if it is the thought that my children will be gone soon and life is to short to spend it cleaning or that I just have put on so much weight and that I don't eat right that I have lost all energy to do what I should be doing.
I have not told anyone that I want to lose weight - my husband would be happy to help but in the past I haven't been able to handle him trying - I generally took it the wrong way and looked it as him being on my case or he just thinks I am fat. I have tried a friend doing it with me but she usually gives up pretty fast because of medical issues - asma and fibromialga.(My spelling is horrible) I have a sister but she is currently pregnant and due in Oct - if I wait that long I am afraid I will be 170. I have one other friend that would be a possibility but she has three small children so her time is limited as to when we could workout and the fact that she has several more pounds to lose than I and I feel bad talking about only 20 lbs that I want to lose.
I need to know how to get motivated - I need to learn how to not have the meal planning and workouts not take up all my family time. - I need someone to keep me accountable for what I do. I need to lose 20lbs but I don't know how I am going to do it. Looking for help and advise - anyone?

Hi, I'm 37 and the mother of 3, I gained a lot of weight with each of my pregnancies and never lost it all after the first 2 and with the third he's 3 and I don't weigh much less than I did when I delivered him!! My focus for the last couple years has been graduate school, but since I complete that tomorrow I figured I could make my weight loss my new focus, my goal is 25 pounds by the end of June (I'm down a little over 13 already), an additional 10 pounds by the end of July and 50+ when it's all said and done. So far I love the support of this site and really enjoy logging in each day. Good luck to everyone!!

Hi! I'm not actually new to Sparkpeople. I joined 2 years ago and lost 54 pounds in about 8 months. I was doing great until about 6 months ago, when life's challenges kicked in full force, and I fell off the exercise wagon. I tried restarting the spark program a couple of times, but without the motivation of clicking that "sparkpoints" button, it was hard to follow the program. I finally decided to completely start over with a new account and all new goals. I have regained about 15 pounds, and I need to lose about 20 more to fall into the "healthy" BMI zone. Sparkpeople is an incredible program and I know I can reach my goals once again by following it. One step back, two steps forward.

Hi!I am a 32 year old mother of 4 children. I weigh approximately 200lbs. My goal is to lose 50 lbs. I am tired of being tired and really want to get healthy. I weighed 140 lbs up until my father passed away 2 and a half years ago. I am also with a man that loves to cook and loves to eat greasy foods. I am going to try and work at my goal slowly but surely. I am looking forward to getting to know you all as we all journey together on our road to success:)

Hello All,

My name is Susan. Today is my 7th day on Spark and I have had a couple of days where I exceeded my cals, but for the most part have done well and am proud.
I am 40 years old. I have been athletic most of my life, but have fought a weight problem my entire adult life. For many years I was winning the battle and was at my fittest.
Due to a car accident and subsequent lumbar back fusion surgery I've regained 50 lbs.
Determined to get it off and keep it off.
Feel free to add me/buddy, etc for moral support. I think it's key to being successful.

Hi My name is Mary and heard about sparkpeople this past Wed. from a friend at church. This site is awesome but am just learning how to navigate it. Am an 8 1/2 year breast cancer survivor and believe it or not I gained weight during treatment and am now diabetic and have high blood pressure. I am GOING TO lose weight to lengthen my life. I look forward to "speaking" with so many people.

Happy Mother's Day.

Glad to be here! Need support!
I am 51 and need to lose 100 pounds. I quit smoking 3 1/2 years ago and replaced that addiction with food. I told myself I could lose weight but not cancer. Well, I haven't lost any weight but have gained about 50 pounds to what was an already overweight body.
I have been happily married for 15 years. I have 1 grown son, 2 grandsons (12 and 10)
I love to read Karen Kingsbury books!
I BELIEVE in support. that's exactly what helped me to quit smoking.
I work as a Web site support associate for an Industrial supply company.
I am GLAD to have found Spark People!

Hi! I'm Michelle! I'm here because I'm on a medication that has added 15 lbs in 3 mos. Unfortunately I will have to remain on the prescription so I will need to work diligently to get and keep the extra weight off. I was doing fairly well with weight loss before my dosage was increased, and now I just have to work that much harder!

I want to lose the weight for health reasons. I'm not as concerned with how I look as I am with my health! I want to be around to watch my wonderful grandson grow up! I need LOTS of accountability (nutrition tracker, etc.) and could sure use lots of "go get 'em"s from my spark buddies!

Keep moving!
Michelle

Spark On!

Hello!
I am almost 22, and I am graduating at the end of next week from college. The last four years have been crazy with school (Biomedical Science major) so that I've slowly put on 15 pounds. I'm teaching starting in August so I have all of this Summer to really do a lot to get back in shape, I just want to stay focused. I also want to stay healthy once I start teaching again.

Hey All! My name is Cammie. I'm 22 and married to an amazing man who cooks REALLY well. We have a one year old little girl and between pregnancy and my husbands wonderful food I packed on 60 lbs since I was 19. I've lost thirty of the sixty and have 30-40 left to go since I was already 10 lbs over my goal. I was the most comfortable at 125 so that is my new goal but 130 would be great too :) Nice to meet all of you and good luck! I'm glad I found a place where I can talk to other people who are working on this issue, because most of my friends are either skinny or don't care. Lots of Love!

Hello All! It's nice to be part of such a large community. I'm 36 and determined to lose 125 lbs. I'm hoping to do it by next August, but I've decided to be patient on this journey. I've lost weight in the past, but I usually get frustrated because it takes too long or I plateau and I end up gaining it back. So - my motto from here on out is slow and steady wins the race. I don't care how long it takes for the scale to go down, as long as it doesn't go back up.

Hi

I'm Judith,45, single, live with my dog, Pickle in Kent, UK. Looking to lose 55 pounds.

I have struggled with my weight for some time. I lose some and then relax a bit..... I never get to where I want to be.

I love walking my dog, going to Curves and having fun with friends.

Would love to get a buddy who has similar goals to mine.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Judith

Hey, everybody!

I'm originally from Houston, TX but now live in Pooler (a suburb of Savannah, GA). I'm a married, non-breeder with a dog and a cat.

I joined yesterday b/c I'm tired of being fat. Ever since ABC aired Wipeout, being fat has lost all its appeal and glamor. It's no longer fun for me. I guess I'm fickle that way.

Look forward to getting to know y'all and grow in our shared experience!

Hi Yall.
I'm a Cajun girl from south Louisiana, who moved to Mississippi a year ago. My husband and I both in mid 50's love our home here. The both of us have struggled with weight issues all our lives. At my highest 310 in 2003, I had gastric bypass surgery. I lost 155 pounds but then my liver went bad and I almost died. I'm well now, but have regained 55 pounds and it won't stop climbing, as my job and lifestyle is a quiet sedentary one. I've begun a walking schedule and I started a weight-loss support group at my church. It was one of the ladies in my group, who told me of SparkPeople. I've been coming in here for 2 days now and love it. Hopefully with everyone's support I can get off the 55 pounds that I want to shed.....AND, keep 'em off!

If anyone would like to personally write me, I would love to become snail mail penpals, but here's my email address to contact me. hollyrae92@yahoo.com

Hi everyone. I'm Millie. As my 49th birthday appears on the horizon I've committed to myself to become healthier and more active by the time I reach 50. And the most important goal of all is to stay there once it is achieved. This is a great place with lots of good information and motivators.

Hi, I'm Kelly. I've actually been a member of SparkPeople before and it helped me lose about 35 pounds! Unfortunately, I didn't handle stress very well and gained it all back. I also don't think I used the site for everything it had to offer, so I've decided to start from scratch!

Hello everybody! I'm Hayley and I'm 19. I'm going to be 20 on August 30th, and I want to get a lot of this weight off before then! I used to spend a lot of time hovering in the 160s, but then my life came crashing down on me and I've spent the last few months gaining 30 lbs. So, now I'm 193, obese for the first time in my life, and ready to make a change! I'm a college student who is studying biology and I really want to teach one day. I'll keep this short and sweet, check out my sparkpage if you want to know more, and please feel free to contact me if you want a buddy!

Hey everyone. I'm Cassandra from Kansas. I'm 25 years old and overweight. I'm ready to get high school skinny where I was wearing a size 6 easily. I started working out and tracking my calories about six weeks ago. So far, I have lost 9 pounds and am psyched about my progress. I had no idea about sparkpeople until I stumbled upon it a few days ago. I'm hoping having some people to talk to that are in the same boat will help keep me motivated. I currently am on week 4 of the couch to 5k program and loving it! I also use a stability ball at home for strength exercises as well as workout DVD's to provide different muscle tone.

Goal weight by my 30th birthday!

Hello. My name is Katie and I am a 30 year old from Denver, CO. I have been working the last two months to lose weight. All I did was add vegetables to my daily diet and have lost about 10 pounds so far. But at 290 still I know that isn't enough. So I joined Spark people. One of my friends is on here and has lost 80+ pounds already.

I don't feel as if I have as much support/accountability at home with my boyfriend who thinks bacon and pound of cheese added to everything makes it better. And his daughter who is still not big on vegetables.

I am ready for an absolute change in my life and I am really hoping that this is it. I need the accountability this website offers me. And people to help see my through this transition.

Welcome to my first goal of getting to 250.

Hello everyone, I'm Kandy in Pennsylvania. I've been working on eating better and moving more for about a year, and I've started the weight loss (currently ticker shows since September, but I might adjust that to last May when I started), but hit a plateau. Heard about SP and thought to check it out. I'm impressed and hope this will be the extra oomph I need. emoticon Time to go have some more water...

Hi. My name is Lorie and I'm from Pennsylvania. I had joined SP back in the summer of 2008, and had lost almost 35 pounds. Then in November of that year, we found out that my husband had Stage 4 lung cancer, which was caused by his exposure to Agent Orange when he was in Vietnam.

He passed away in Feb. of last year, a month before our 27th wedding anniversary. It took me awhile to get myself together enough to focus on myself again. I joined Weight Watchers in March and I've lost over 17 lbs. so far, bur I have a long way to go. I'm hoping that between the support at WW and here I can stay focused.

Hello all! Still getting to know this site and in the midst of setting up goals. I'm a 34 year old woman living in NYC. At 5'4", 202 lbs, I'm looking to definitely get smaller and fitter. My biggest issue is with food (emotional eating) but lately I'm needed just a bit of extra motivation to get up and moving more. I am doing a learn to run program (which I love!) and I walk loads around the city.

I'm trying not to focus so much the stringent nature of *diets* and more on adding healthier foods and habits into my life.

Looking for a buddy for that extra motivation! Good luck everyone!

Peace,
Chica

Hello everyone! I'm Emily - a 31 year old mom to three beautiful girls. My oldest is almost 9, my middle daughter passed away 6 years ago when she was 11 months old, and my "baby" is 3. I was under-weight most of my life but after my daughter passed away I slowly started gaining weight and over the last 6 years have gained just under 50 pounds. I started this journey at 161 pounds and my overall goal is to get down to 130. I look forward to making these life chages with all of you and being able to cheer each other on!

Hi all, I am looking to lose a lot of excess baggage I have before it really catches up to me. I am hoping to lose over a 100 pounds in less than a year because I am a VERY impatient person. I am fully aware of how to eat once the weight is lost, but just feel if I can get it off in 6-8 months than why not? Well, best wishes to you all and talk to you soon.

Hi eveyone. My name is Jenn. I am almost 30 with two sons, ages 6 and almost 3. They are very active children and I hate sitting on the sidelines watching them. I am at my heightest weight ever and am finally ready to do something about it. I am a full time college student and unemployed at the moment. Life has given my family some difficult challenges these past couple years and I have realised that I only have control over one thing, myself. i was always a thicker girl in high school I was a size 12/13 after I moved out at 19 the weight started creeping up and I am finally ready to battle it.

Anything worth doing isn't going to be easy

Hi, my name is Mandy. I am a nursing student in Texas. Just celebrated my first year anniversary with my husband. We decided it was time to stop talking about making changes in our lives and start acting on them. Being healthy and fit have become top priories in my life now. I am looking forward to my new path learning new tools to change my life. emoticon

Hi, my name is Tracy. I'm 37, married, mom to a 7 yr old daughter and 3 yr old son. I have been overweight almost my whole life, tried everything, but since hitting the 300 mark on the dot, decided I cannot go any higher!
I am working on eating clean. My husband is actually doing it with me this time. So maybe this is it!
Good luck to all of you and I hope to get to know you better!

Hi, I am Christine. I joined last night and I am slowly learning my way around. I am 47, weigh 174 and would like to lose about 40 pounds. I want to lose weight to feel better, look better, get off my blood pressure medicine, and not have to worry about what my cholesterol or triglyceride levels are. I
started a low carb diet on 3/3/10 and lost 14 lbs. The plan was too restrictive (no fruits, grains, or starchy veggies at all) so I quit. I gained about 3 or 4 of those pounds back and do not want to put back on any more. I am an emotional overeater. I am reading different books to try to learn to gain control over my issues with food. I live alone so it should be easier, but I am tired of eating salads and I hate to have to decide what to eat.
Back in 1993, I weighed 193 pounds. March of 2000, I weighed 137 pounds and had neck surgery at that time. Over the next 10 years, I made my way back up to 183. It's time to get back down again. I pray that this is the plan for me. I look forward to making progress alongside each of you and learning much along the way.

Hi!

My name is Hofi, I'm from Iceland but currently live in British Columbia, Canada with my husband and 10 year old son.

I've always been the heavy girl, but this is my second attempt to rid myself of those pesky extra kilos - currently about 30 of them, although my first goal is 14kg before October 1st.

My first attempt, 4 years ago, was very successful (over 30kg in 10 months), but I didn't manage to stick to the program and keep them off - and then had some emotional issues that helped pile them back on. That did tell me, though, that I *can* do this, and am looking forward to fit into my skinny jeans!

emoticon - and so can I!

Hey everyone,

I am 20 years old with a height of 5' 2". My start weight is 142 lbs. I want to get down to 115 lbs. I also have a goal of wanting to be able to complete a 13-mile outdoor run. I have asthma and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I plan on doing this anyways.

I am also a born-again Christian. I love Jesus with all my heart and want my whole life to be all about him.

I am so glad to see so many people on this sparkteam. It is nice to meet you all!

God Bless,
Lauren

Hi team! My name is Allyn. I joined Spark back in 2006 and went from 370 lbs to 260 lbs.

Over the last year and half I've fallen off the band wagon and really need to get back to my ultimate goal of 150 lbs.

I have about 100 lbs to go and I'm ready to do it!

I hope to be in "one-derland" by end of this year!

Who's with me???

Hi, everyone. I need help and it looks like I've stumbled upon a goldmine here with all of you. I've got 50 pounds to lose for about the 50th time, but I'm determined to make this one stick. I have a crippling form of arthritis and the Drs tell me I'll be in a wheelchair in 10 years unless I get things together now. Talk about a wake up call! Today is day 1 of a better life for me! emoticon

Hi I'm Connie. I am a wife, mother, grandma, diabetic and recently diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. I am to young (52) to feel this old. I am finding it more difficult to do the things that I once did with out effort. I get short of breath easily. I need to make changes in my lifestyle now not tomorrow. I would like to lose 50lbs and I am hoping that this program will help me get there. I actually have a deal with my husband that if I lose the 50lbs he will quit smoking. I am already a walker. I have a 6 month old puppy who I walk 2 times daily. I have read some of the messages on this forum and I wish everyone the strength to succeed in their goals. As they say "One day at a time" right.

Hi, I'm Alicia. I'm 28, married, no kids, 2 cats. I started at 247, my heaviest weight ever! I have more of a full bio on my sparkpage if anyone's interested. I'm looking to eventually get down to 150. My goal timeframe is next year at this time. My wedding anniversary is May 8 and I'm hoping that this time next year I will have reached my goal weight.

I have a gym set up at home and I've been following the Jillian Michael's Winning by Losing exercise plan. It's hard! My biggest problem is sticking to eating healthy food. I crave sugar and salt allll the time.

I'm at around 235 right now and I'm hoping to get to 220 by the end of June. That's my first goal :)

Hi - I'm Dee and my starting weight is 190, my overall goal is 146 there about, but I am shooting for small goals over time, so my first is 180.

I work in the food industry and am on my feet all day long running food, but it doesn't seem to help with weight loss.

My program will include walking to get started and than I hope to fix up my bike and start riding for extra exercise, and down the road hope to join a local gym to use their fitness equipment, but mainly their pool.

I find I get started quite well but than I'm hard on me. I am in my late 40s, have an adult child and want to be more active for them and my grandchildren.

There is a lot of living I still want to do, but I want to do it healthy.

Welcome ladies!!! Don't worry about screwing up...this is a lifestyle change, not a diet. I have had my share of bumps since starting SP last August, and I'm still in a much better place than I was. emoticon

Hey everyone. My name is Amy. I'm 27 and have a 3 year old little boy. I'm over the 200 lb. mark, which kills me. I have about 70 lbs to lose. I know it's going to be hard. I know I'm going to screw up from time to time. It's all about choices and it's about time I start making the right ones.

Hey all. I have a LOT of weight to lose. I am taking the bull by the horns on this attempt at a healthier lifestyle and am being completely honest with where I'm at. I'm not one to be vulnerable and face hard facts and truths, but I'm hoping this was the missing factor in my previous attempts. I wish you all much luck on your own personal journeys to a healthier you. :-)

Hi, I am Karen. I am 32 and I have a 4 year old daughter. I would like to lose the last 10 lbs. A few yrs ago I got pretty close to goal then gained it back over the past year. Now I need to stick to something. I go on strict diets, do well then binge and gain it all back. I am here to take a new approach with food. Treats in moderation. I am also cutting out processed food and trying to eat more veggies. I already cut soda and white flour a while ago. I am looking forward to chating with all of you!

Hi everyone! I am an almost-30 overweight female from the St. Louis area. I have gained about 50 pounds over the past 6 years (40 of those pounds gained in 1 1/2 years alone due to health issues).

My workplace is introducing a new "Biggest Loser" type program (never kicked off the ranch), and I'm hoping that Spark will help me to get the weight lost and (maybe) win some free stuff!

I hope everyone has a great time losing the extra poundage!

Hey, I'm Melissa, I joined Spark People to lose the weight I've gained over the last 5 years and 3 babies. emoticon I'm heading back to the size I was as a teenager, which I maintained well until I got married/pregnant. I have never really given weight loss a serious effort, because...as it happened, every time I was ready I got pregnant again! LOL! So here I am, not pregnant or nursing for the first time in almost 6 years and I'm READY to become a healthier version of me.
