Hi everyone, I have never been so unfit like how I am now in the entire 21 years of my life so I am determined to put a stop to all the emotional eating I have been engaging in these 3 months. All the junk I've been putting into my body has led to a tremendous weight gain of 23kilos. Granted I was severely overweight at 43kg one year ago, I am determined to get my body back, but a healthier-looking and fitter one too. So my aim for now is 50kg. GO FBG! We can do it, alright!

My name is Shirley and I live in Georgia (the land of the fried foods). I am STILL trying to find my motivation to get my butt to the gym. I hate working out alone and I don't like being on a class schedule because it never seems to jive with the time I get off work. I live 14 miles from the gym and I don't want to have to go home and drive back, but I don't want to be at the gym for 3 hours either. I always put my needs last so of course, exercise comes last. I have about 60 lbs to lose. Don't want to be skinny. Skinny is ugly to me. Just want to be toned and healthy. I am what I am and I know I will never be a size 2 and don't want to be. Looking forward to being part of the FBG girls.

My name is sarah. I am 24 yo and regisitered nurse. Never been a skinny person (well one time in high school I was 140 but that only lasted a week maybe), and been struggling with all the weight I put on in college (221 down to 190 by my best friends wedding in 09 with spark help) and then my first year and a half working as a nurse (up to 250, started spark again at 248 and am at last weigh in 246) and so have come back to spark. I definitely agree with the FBG lifestyle and am trying to work on that for myself and to be a better example for those I care for. I have been on many fad diets over the course of my life (parents been on them so the overweight daughter gets to join in too) but that is not the way I want to do things now. I enjoy dancing (jazz in high school, belly dance in college -which really helps promoting women to love their bodies, and now zumba on wii) and am working my way through the running program on runnersworld.com (week 4) for beginning running 101. Okay I really do not enjoy running but I like the simplicity of it. . . just put on shoes and go. .. . and I am making it more fun with technology (music and a pedometer/sensor from nike) that just encourages me to do more.
What drew me in to FBG was the title of an article that was listed in a daily blog on spark. .. get naked with us. . .lol. I definitely see more negatives than postives when I look in the mirror for now but this will be a good exercise for me and help me change the way I think.
That (food item that is tempting me) is not worth my goal jeans!

Hi, my name is Joan and I love the FBG web site.....though I had seen it before, I did not realize that you were also on SP........so I signed up....as well as signing up for the FBG emails. I got so intrigued and distracted by one of the articles and checking out all the links that I spent an entire morning, really getting pumped up and motivated....

Hi, my name is Tracey. I have been overweight for most of my life and when I wasn't overweight, I still so myself that way. I went from one extreme to the other...I was extremely thin, to the point that other kids were afraid to play with me because they were afraid I'd break...to being overweight, to the point that kids made fun of me because I was fat. I am not fond of change so it's taken me awhile to get to where I am mentally. It make take me a little longer to make it work from my head to my body, but I am doing things now that I NEVER thought I'd be doing...like running! I swore I'd never run and then this year I've decided I'm going to run...I WANT to run. I feel good when I run.

Hi FBGs, been following ur tweets for a while and didn't realize you were on SP til u tweeted it. Thx for that. I'm Angie and I'm from Houston, TX. I have lost 50 lbs. but I just have those pesky 2-3 that just come and go. I love my new healthy lifestyle that I've been living since August 2009, and I just got my boyfriend on board and signed up today. He quit smoking just over a month ago and is already seeing the pounds going up on the scale and I am so happy that he's asked me for guidance.
Looking forward to chatting it up with yall, and following the tweets during Heavy & TBL. See 'ya soon.

Hi everyone! I have been here on Spark for about 2 years now, and I am still struggling to meet my goals. The good news is that I have not given up and I have not gained back what I lost. My plan is to finally reach my goals in 2011 Good luck everyone!

Since I enjoy the Fit Bottomed Girls website, it seemed only natural to join the FBG Team when I became a SparkPeople member. I really like FBG Jenn's introductory comment regarding the Fit Bottom Girls lifestyle: "which is to enjoy all foods in moderation and exercise regularly with activities I love." I am looking forward to sharing thoughts and ideas with other team members as I continue to focus on my goal of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Been a Sparker for over a year, a FBG reader for a while, but just found this team today from the FBG GB page. Married 25 years, 4 kids (2 grown boys, 1 14 yo boy & a 12yo girl), and 2 grandsons. Right now I am focusing on strengthening my core to reduce back pain and to make healthy choices to be around for my grandkids.

I'm with you Lisa I enjoy healthy foods and do exercise, but ate too much. I have found encouragement here at sparkpeople, but the most helpful thing I've found is the nutrition tracker. I was eating very high calorie snacks without realizing it, in between my healthy meals.

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa and I am from Houston, Texas. I have a pretty good exercise habit, but my problem is with my diet. I eat pretty healthy, just too much. I am ready to concur this problem once and for all. So I am hoping to find some motivation to stick to my goals.

Hi Everyone! My name is Kate. I live in Southern California, and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 9 months ago. I recently found FBG on the web and love it. I've read that it should take the same amount of time to lose what you put on during pregnancy, but with my daughter nine months now and still weight to lose, I've fallen far behind that. I want to lose the baby weight and then some because I wasn't my fittest before pregnancy either. I've got about 66 pounds to lose, but so far my boyfriend and I have been great at changing our lifestyle to health-conscious.
My biggest issue has always been impatience. I want the weight off now, but it doesn't work that way. It does help seeing a steady decline in weight and feeling my clothes fit looser.

Hi Everyone -- My name is Xoe. I'm in Lawrence, KS and have been following the FBG blog in my reader. I was glad to learn there is a Spark team.
My biggest fitness problem is procrastination. ... Any excuse to not start working out on any given day is a good excuse to me. .. But I'm getting better about it. As long as I start, I do ok.

Hi, I'm another newbie!
My name is Jennifer, and I live in Oregon. I am 41, I have two kids (ages 18 & 24) and live with my long-time/live-in boyfriend and two old-lady kitties. I have a LOT of weight to lose, but I'm already on my way, and more than committed on reaching my goals. I am always glad to chat & make new friends, and frankly, I could use the support, so I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July!!! My name is Robin, and I live in Colorado. I am a huge walking fan, and I love to play golf. Part of my peace comes from walking a golf course (and hopefully shooting a low score, though that very seldom happens... oh well). I'm new to SparkPeople and to the teams, but I'm having a ball exploring the site. This looks like a really fun team. I'm excited to get to know all of you.

Hi! I'm Dorie, a 37 yo, happily married, mom to 2 kids, 12 and 7. I am a teacher, and have some time off in the summer, which I'm trying to use to get back on the fitness bandwagon. I love FBG! I eat pretty well, but I have fallen out of the habit of working out and let stress get in the way (excuses, excuses!), so I'm actively trying to reverse that. I ran with my ds (12) today, and we only went a mile, but it was better than nothing!

HI! I new here - invited to join by FBG Jenn :) My Name is Emma and I'm turning 31 this year. I am overweight at 187 and trying to lose it but there are complications caused by the many chronic illnesses I currently live with day to day. I have Rhuematoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, IBS, and PCOS. These cause me to often be so fatigued that even the thought of going for a walk is tiring. I try to exercise when I feel well, but it is during those times that I end up catching up on the things I can't do when I hurt - i.e. Chores (which, I guess, could be considered exercise ;) ). I am happy to say that my time on Titter & SP with the Stand Up & Lose It team has helped me lose 10 pounds this year :)

Hey! Hey! Hey!
I'm Tish, the newbie FBG on the block. I got serious about my health a year and some change ago. I was walking a small flight of stairs and got dizzy and decided that was it. I started training for a half marathon and I've never looked back.
Working out is my wonder drug of choice. I still have many, many moments where the gym makes my butt twitch, but overall I love what a good workout does to my sanity and bawd.

Saw a shoutout on Twitter from Fit Bottomed Girls. So I joined spark people.com today and the group. I'm a 37 yr old deaf single mom who is morbidly obese at the moment. Been heavy all my life. I need to lose weight and get healthy for myself and most of all, for my son. He needs me to be around for as long as I can. I'm trying to work hard at taking back my life. Working on walking up to 10,000 steps a day. At moment, it ranges from 5000 - 6000 steps a day. I need to move more! Looking forward to trying this out and making it!

I'm Risse, 27 years old from Vancouver, BC, CANADA! I've been married 5 years and have identical twin boys who just turned 3. I have owned/operated my own daycare for 7 years now but will be ending that at the end of this month due to my husband traveling ... they are 10 hour days plus I have to keep up with my 3 year olds ... time for a break! I also work part-time for a non-profit radio ministry doing design and I love it but doesnt help me move like I'm used to with the daycare!
I have always been a healthy eater but never very active. Once I had the twins I had little time to eat so at the end of the day I would eat whatever was fasted around me, never a well balanced meal. I started at I've already lost 17 lbs in 12 weeks but am finding myself stuck right now. I am finding lots of inspiration from following fitbottomedgirls on twitter, love you guys! Glad you started this team!!

Hi everyone! I'm Jaclyn, 28 years old and currently living in northern VA and working in Washington, DC. I put in long hours at work and just bought a house at a distance outside the city that requires me driving in (no more walking to and from the metro), so I'm doing my best to integrate activity into my life in other ways! I've always been a fairly healthy eater (except for a brief time in college) but I've spent more time studying and working in sedentary jobs than running around and playing. I'm trying to improve my fitness level so that I can meet some of my fitness goals, including picking up cycling and getting back into running road races because I've been inspired by FBG Jenn! Fav ways to work out include hiking, kayaking, running (yes, I'm an outdoorsy girl) and yoga. I'm looking forward to seeing what challenges this team brings!

Hey! I'm Jen, 32yo married with a dog, no kids, in Charlottesville, VA. I am the Director of Education for a company that manages nonprofit membership organizations, and I run a freelance editing business on the side in all my spare time. My husband is an editor for LexisNexis, and he writes comic books in his spare time (all for fun and not profit so far, though he's making slow progress toward possibly being published for actual money).
My goals are pretty simple: get fit in a healthy manner. I want to feel good about myself, feel energetic and active, eat well (but not give up my favorite foods because I really do enjoy eating good food; it's almost a hobby!). And because of that, my weight loss progress is REALLY slow - and I'm OK with that. It's been almost a year now since I started over on SP, and I've lost almost 35 lbs in a year. I've got about 50 more I'd like to lose, but I'm not in a hurry; I'm OK with going about it slow and doing what makes me happy to get there.
I struggle the most with reducing my sodium intake - there is just too much sodium in processed food, and unfortunately, I'm too busy to NOT eat processed food. My other big struggle is making myself do strength training because it's SO BORING and takes an additional 30 minutes that I'd rather use for cardio, but I have recently developed a new plan of action to fit in 2 weight sessions and 1 yoga class every week to get in some strenth training.
Hi, I'm Andrea and I joined this team because I follow FBG on twitter. I recently began my weightloss journey and am slowly but surely making progress. I have a very busy life with my husband and 4 chidren and teaching. I am learning to develop healthy habits and focus on getting health rather than quick fixes.

Hi everyone! I'm 25, vegan, work in for a women's health organization & foster cats/dogs. I've always been obese/overweight (I was close to 220 in high school) and have ever-so-slowly developing better habits.
My life is very busy, but when I actually go to the gym and am not stressed out, I lose the weight pretty quickly. It's the making time for everything that's tricky. I'm almost ready to dip below 180, which was the least I weighed in my adult life (when I could barely afford to eat and biked everywhere... it was a good/bad thing).
I've been doing the C25K program (w2!) & am forcing myself to do more strength training, along with the ol' cardio standbys.

Hi everyone! I'm Kira from Nashville, and I've been following FBG on Twitter based on recommendations from Coach Nicole. I was so glad to see that y'all have a team.
I lost 20 lbs two years ago for my wedding, and it has slowly crept back on, so I'm trying to keep it under control until I can go off hormonal birth control and really start to lose again. I love cooking healthy (and indulgent) meals and hitting the gym.
Hi everyone! I'm Courtney and I am from Pennsylvania. I havebeen following FBG on Twitter and saw a shout-out about the team on SparkPeople...how could I not join?!
I have been a Spark member for three years now, and am still travelling on my weight loss journey. I took some time away from Spark last year and I am glad to be back in the full swing. I am working with a trainer every week and am training with the couch to 5k program. I may not be seeing the numbers on the scale, but I am definitely stronger and happier than I have been in a very long time! No more girly push-ups for me! ;)
Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hi, I'm Jenni, SAHM of 2 munchkins and DF to Adamm9 here on SparkPeople & Twitter.
I've been heavy for the majority of my life due to poor eating habits & a sedentary lifestyle. I lost about 75lbs back in 1999-2001 and gained it all PLUS some when I had our DD in Aug '04. I lost about 55lbs, hovering at 195 for a few years until I got pregnant with our DS. The last numbers I saw on the scale in my midwife's office were 240lbs and that was 3 weeks before giving birth, so I know I weighed even more than that when I gave birth. I made a commitment to losing weight & getting healthier in Jan '08 when I joined Sparkpeople. I was 197.5 then and now hover between 144-147 most days. It took 2 years to lose the weight but I did it in a sensible manner that is conducive to a healthy lifestyle for ME and my family.

Hiya! I'm Ashley, 25 living in Michigan, but I am from Virginia. Went to Virginia Tech - Go Hokies! I lost some weight a few years ago by cutting down on certain food groups (bad idea for me) and gained it all back...plus some! Now I'm working on learning and creating a healthy lifestyle :)

Hi everyone! I'm Sarah, 28, getting married in 5 months. =) I finally got my motivation this year realizing my wedding is less than a year away, and I've lost 25 lbs. so far! I want to lose at least another 25 by the wedding, and 80 overall. It won't stop when we say "I do," I'm in this for life! My fiance is also trying to lose weight and is down about 20 lbs. so far. I'm so proud of him!
My last day at my sedentary desk cube job is May 14, then I'll be working from home selling jewelry, studying to become a wedding planner, and being a housewife. ;-) I'll have a lot more time to cook and exercise, and hope to kick my weight loss into the next level.
I'm also on Twitter, my account is private till my job ends but add me and I'll add you! Take care everyone!

I'm Rekeesha. I'm 30 y/o (as of today), SNK and live in Orlando, FL.
As of my May 1st weigh in I reached my first goal of losing 30 pounds! I will be setting new goals early next week. Although I still have pounds to lose, I'm thinking that my new set of goals will be fitness-related, rather than focusing on weightloss.
Can't wait to get to know you all!
This day will never come again. Make it count!

belfastbiker, 40yo, formerly 327lbs, now 281. Only about 114 to go. :)
Longer, fuller life is my goal. Was seriously worried about dying much too young last year. Mum's had two recentish heart attacks, heart issues run in the family. I had a heart scare early last year.
Got lots of short-term, medium-term, long-term goals. They're on my fitness blog at www.belfastbiker.me.
Also losing weight for Cancer Research UK now, £150 donated so dar, £850 to go! :) (www.justgiving.com/belfastbiker)
