I like the name of this team! I like it because in order for me to stick with any type of diet or life style change my food must have variety and taste good!
My favorite cuisines are: Mexican(very fattening), Asian, Mediterranean, Hindu, Raw Foods, and especially Creole! Love Spicy!
I am also a firm believer that fresh is best. So I very rarely eat fast food. I cook!
My site name is Pamjsb55. I am 58 years old. Unlike a lot of people, I wasn't always heavy. I didn't start gaining weight until I turned 42 years old. Before that age, I was very active. I walked 5 miles a day while my son's trained with their track team. Prior to that I always played with my children outside during the good weather. Naturally, children grow up, my activities tapered off.
I stopped my 5 mile walks after being mugged.
Then 1999, I fell and broke my left foot. I gained 21 pounds in a month! while recuperating. In 2004, the tendons in that same foot snapped and I had to have my foot reconstructed. I was on a cast for nine months, gained more weight.
The years kept going, I kept gaining weight. In 2007, I fell again while working and discovered that the cartilage was wearing away in my knees. I decided to chain my eating habits and get back to exercising on a regular basis. I lost 50 pounds that year. My money ran low and I wasn't able to afford the weight loss program I was on. I gained 35 pounds of the 50 pounds back. In 2009, My father passed away, I lost 50 pounds for the second time due to depression. Yes, that's right! I will lose weight very easily when I become depressed or there is a drastic change in my life that is very upsetting. I became unemployed and gained 25 pounds of that 50 pounds back. In 2010, my mother passed away, and there was a lot of arguing with my siblings over my parents estate, I lost 50 pounds.
I found a job that following August, which required a lot of sitting. I was able to keep from gaining that 50 pounds back until my job took me off the afternoon shift to the early day shift which started as early as 6:00 am. I wasn't able to keep my exercise program because I get more out of my work outs in the morning rather than the evening. This time I not only gained 50 pounds back but I gained some more besides that 50 pounds!
My favorite work out was cycling in the past 7 years because of my knees and my foot, I am not able walk like I could when I was younger. And I found that cycling kept my knees from stiffing.. Last year 2012, I had my right knee replaced and I cannot cycle any more.
So now, my exercise of choice is water aerobics, in the morning, 3 times a week.
So far since I signed up on this website on 02/04, I lost 3 pounds! Not bad, don't you think? I am hoping I can keep this up and get to my final optimum weight of 130-160 pounds and stay at that weight for the rest of my life!
