Welcome to the team and glad you're back to give the healthy journey another shot. I haven't read the books, but based on what I've read about the books, I also wouldn't feel the same about the show if I read the books, because the characters are so different. Just the fact that in the books Elena wanted to become a vampire right away makes me a little leery about combining the experiences. Also, Elena is a blond in the books and apparently giving Nina the part in the show made a lot of fans of the books very upset. Also, now that LJ Smith has been fired from writing the book series (even though her name is still on it, it's being written by a ghostwriter) I wonder if I really want to get into reading a book series, just to stop when what she's written is done?
Our team hasn't been too active lately, after several of the active members disappeared. I'm still here every day though, and I'd love to have some company! I've tried several things to get people to hang around and get involved in the team, along with getting healthier and getting more into the show. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to implement them.
Changing our lives to be healthier is a difficult process, but worthwhile. Have you figured out what the difficulties are that have held you back in the past? What are you trying differently this time? Starting over isn't such a bad thing, as it gives you a chance to try something new. Being willing to keep trying and not giving up, even when you lose your way, is what will get you through.

Hey there! I am a big fan of VD- the show, not the books. I've never read the books, but my oldest daughter has the series. She hasn't started them yet because after she found out that Elaina has a little sister, not a little brother, in the books, she said it wouldn't feel right. Now that Jeremy is so central to what's going on in the show, she has no desire to read the books! LOL
I am a happily married woman of 39, and we have three daughters, 18, soon-to-be 15, and an 8-year-old. This August will be our 20th wedding anniversary, and he has stuck by me through thick and thin (no pun intended! )
I've been a member here since 2007, albeit off and on. This year, the day after Christmas, I went to the doctor for bronchitis and weighed in at 290 pounds- my highest weight ever. I knew I could NOT keep going on like that. The problem is, I've started over sooooooooo many times before, and while I feel great and motivated now, I'm afraid it won't stay for long. I am a Christian woman who is more focused on being healthy than being skinny, so I'm not looking for a quick fix, just a way to overcome my food addiction once and for all.
Glad to be here! Looking forward to getting to "meet" you all!
