Hi,

My name is Callie and I have 50 lbs to lose. I am off to a great start with SP.

I like the official SP challenges. SP Official Healthy Cooking Challenge and SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge

Here are the changes I have made so far:
1. Planning meals now
2. Drinking 2.2 L of H2O per day
3. Keeping fruit in bowls throughout my house
Lastly, Tracking my food calories with (wow....lots of work there, but gotta do it!) week one of SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge

I'm a 57 year old woman that has a total of 83 lbs to lose to reach a decent weight where I can possibly get off of blood pressure pills and also not hurt so much from RA of the spine. I've been told by my doctor that the less extra weight I'm carrying the less stress there will be on my joints. I don't expect to lose it fast. It took me 8 years to put on all the weight. My goal is to drop 2 lbs every month and keep it off til I reach my 83 lb goal.
I am married to Bob and he's just had to get a pacemaker/defibrullator in March, and is still adjusting to having a very weak heart (20% heart strength), so I tend to stress over his health a lot, and when I'm stressing out, I tend to eat more than I should. So I will be working on making healthier food choices over time.

Good morning. My name is Rose and I am not new to Spark People. My journey has been over the course of 4 years, but I found that walking away from an abusive and toxic marriage was the key for me at really caring about myself and changing my life! I am not less than 40 pounds from my goal! I have lost almost 80 pounds now! I LOVE the outdoors and if I can get out and hike the trails (I live near Lake MIchigan), I do much better. This has been a brutal winter though, so Leslie Sansone has become my indoor friend. I am looking forward to making friends and gaining support on this final leg of the journey before I begin maintaining.

Hi all! I'm not really a new member...I've just been kind of lurking around. I decided the other day that I need to do something to get back on track. I lost my first 100 pounds using Sparkpeople and I want to get back on track and lose the rest. I have managed to keep off the weight, well, hmmm..I have gained a few pounds, lost them...gained them again and lost...but pretty much I have kept off that 100 pounds. I realized this morning that one of the big things that helped me was being part of the conversations in the sparkteams. Instead of running to the fridge cuz I was bored, I would get on here and chat with everyone and check in how everyone was doing. So, here I am again!

Hello!! My name is Liz. I have struggled with weight for a long time and it's time to make a difference at this time. I'm 33 yrs old and I need to get in shape for me and my future kids. I recently lost about 65 lbs but as soon as the holidays + a wedding, I gained about 20 lbs. I've lost 10 lbs of it back now since New Years. I'm hoping to lose more in the coming months/years to get to my ideal weight of 150 lbs!! I'm half way there now!! Hope to be friends with everyone here and as you motivate me, I will motivate you!!

Hi everyone! First time posting.....I have come out of a very stressful time in my life during which I gained a lot of weight. I am now ready to leave the bad behind me, de-stress and finally loss this weight. I will be turning 50 this year and would like to loss at least 50lb before my B-day in October. I am hypothyroid and totally stressed out, and was told I wouldn't be able to loss the weight by one doctor (I left her and found another one). I need help figuring this all out and what really works. I have never been able to really loose weight but have been steadily putting it on over the past 20 years. Please help. emoticon

Hi, everyone, I'm Ginger and so glad to be here.
I have been an emotional eater since I was a teenager and have made great strides since reading the book Brain Over Binge by Kathryn Hansen. My portions are still too big, but I am doing well with exercise and recently had my yearly physical and my blood work is improved from last year and my doctor is pleased....and so am I !
My daughter is getting married in nine months and I would love to look sensational and slim in a dress that I choose just because I love it, and not because it is "flattering" to my shape.

Hi everyone -- I am beginning again -- My major reasons to lose weight are health related issues and the fact that I am absolutely disgusted with the way I look and feel (physically and emotionally) -- Returned to the gym today after a 2 month sabbatical and it really felt good and have been able to follow my food program so far (don't want to negate that workout!) -- and one of my goals is to use this site daily as a tool for success -- thanks for being here

Hi my name is Mar and I have been struggling on getting back on track. I am trying to find what it was that got me going the first time I was on here. I lost almost 50 pounds but have gained it all back plus more. I used to go hiking/walking but lately it has been much of nothing. Today I am on day 1.

Sheila,
Make sure you have a plan to keep it off once you lose it this time. Part of my plan is to miss my traditional Friday night dinner (a slice of cheese pizza and a squirt soda) and to do 1,000 calories on the elliptical instead if I haven't maintained my weight for the week. Then I will be extra careful for the following 7 days to assure my weight is where it is suppose to be by the following Friday.

Hi,

I'm John. Starting my two-week food and exercise journal today. I meet with a nutritionist and have my BMI checked two weeks from today. A lot of stressors (like everyone has). I leave my current job that I love a week from Friday to move to Las Vegas. It's been a great 4 years and I'll miss everyone. It's been hard to control my weight since I was run-under (she was going so fast I was catapulted over the top while she went underneath) by a car 21 months ago while riding my bicycle home from work (and I use a bicycle lane between work and home.) I love aerobic workouts on the elliptical and bicycle. I hate core workouts, but I need them because of the ruptured discs from the accident. I eat too much and occasionally binge. Love the outdoors, but me thinks it will be too hot when I get to Vegas. I hope I can support some people on this team! Thanks to all those that are supporting team members!

Hello~
My name is Sheila and I've been an "off-and-on" Sparker for several years - mostly off lately! I did really well when I first joined and lost 100 pounds BUT life's stressors for the past two years have taken a toll - 83 pounds regained! I am struggling to regain control and know that it is imperative that I do so.
I'm a retired teacher (elementary) and live in NE Ohio.

Hello all!

My name is Maria. I'm fairly new to Sparkpeople. I joined at the end of May of this year. I am diabetic as well as struggle with high blood pressure and cholesterol. I was diagnosed with these conditions in 2008. I did well at getting everything under control however I began to doubt there was anything wrong with me. You must understand one thing about me....I hate taking medications or any pills for that matter. I will suffer with a headache for days rather than take Tylenol. Crazy stupid, I know. Soooooo, I stopped taking my meds, stopped eating right and stopped exercising. You can imagine what happened next. My glucose went out of control (426) and I was taken directly to ER.

I scared my husband, my family and myself. My son, god bless him, introduced me to this site. He has been my biggest supporter to get me back in good health. Since May, he calls me EVERY weekend to check on me. I don't want to disappoint him nor myself. I am taking my meds (regularly). With Sparkpeople and the tools they provide (Nutrition tracker and fitness) I am taking full advantage of them. I religiously read other members blogs and health content as well as the motivational articles. All of these tools have helped me tremendously!! I am learning sooooo much from others as well as the articles.

I owe my son BIG time and Sparkpeople too! I appreciate those members who start these teams to help me and others. I'm still learning how to use this site so forgive me if I do something wrong.

Here's to us and success!!! Let us all reach our shared goal - to become healthy and live a long healthy lifestyle!

Hello. I am 47 and January of this year, I made it to 2 lbs of my goal. Well, I put on 15 pounds and so here I am. I have struggles keeping the calorie count down. I really like food but I know I can do it. I am in transition - sold our house, new house deal fell through so I don't have internet at home, just work and I don't have an area to exercise or access to my youtube. I let myself slip in to old habits.

My spouse is super supportive but he is strong and lean and loves LOVES to snack constantly. My challenge is to count every calorie of what goes in to my mouth and get in at minimum, a 30 minute walk every day. I'm happy to be here!

Hi I'm new to this ,and I need to lose weight badly.i am a 56yr old truck driver who is away all week I weigh 15.8 stones ,7stone of which is all belly any ideas on how to lose this stomach greatly appreciated ,bearing in mind I am living in the truck 4/5 nights a week thank you in anticipation

I have 97 lbs to lose and could use some support along the way. Since reaching my 50's it's been a real challenge to get any weight off. But I know with hard work and determination, I will lose all I need to lose to get back the body I know I have under all this fat.
