I have 97 lbs to lose and could use some support along the way. Since reaching my 50's it's been a real challenge to get any weight off. But I know with hard work and determination, I will lose all I need to lose to get back the body I know I have under all this fat.

I don't care for stuffed peppers since I don't like bell peppers, but I do love stuffed cabbage. Bob will eat the stuffing and not the cabbage though when I make that. He hates cooked cabbage. But that sure sounds good. I think I'm going to have to make some of that come the first of the month. Can't do it before then. I have over 200 cookbooks and 90% are healthy ones so I need to start trying a few new things. Maybe one new recipe a week.

good for you Vicki! I bought the Spark People Recipe book...Great stuff in it! Have only tried one or two recipes so far. I do like to make stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls, chicken tortilla soup in my crock pot. those three I can eat for a week! All clean, all healthy for you! Of course you have to watch your ingredients like cheese, etc.

You're off to a great start. I eat more processed foods than I should but am working on that. Now that hubby is working along with me to get healthier, hopefully I won't have as big of a fight on my hands when I start bringing in more fresh fruits and vegetables instead of boxed or canned stuff.

I eat what I want, but I make sure to eat good "clean" foods. No processed foods. I don't eat fast food anyway, so that isn't a big deal for me, but I try to make sure everything is fresh. Veggies, Lean meats, and fruits.
I work out each morning anywhere from 15 min to 1/2 hour. I record my food, measurements, and I blog. I read a lot here on Spark people

Hi, I'm Diana, I'm 35 years old (21 if I can get people to believe it....lol)! I'm not a new member exactly, but haven't been here for years! When I first joined this team (forever ago...I think it was in 2007 when I was here last...maybe a year or so later than that) I was TTC #1 (Trying To Conceive). To update everyone: I am now the proud mama of a 2 1/2 year old little girl named Arabella (which in Latin means Answered Prayer). After almost 11 years trying to get pregnant, she is our miracle baby and is a true blessing in all sense of the word. :) I struggle with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and because of that it is hard to get and keep the weight off. I need to get with it this time and stick with it. I'm looking for all the support I can get! Oh and on a side note...DH & I are TTC #2, so the weight loss will help.

Hi, I'm Vicki. I'm 56,and I have 65 lbs to lose to reach my goal of 195 lbs. Once I reach that goal I'll decide how much further I want to go. My hubby and I have just started going to a fitness center 3 times a week so I'm hoping this will help both of us to stay motivated to get the weight off. He needs to lose as much weight as possible as he has a heart condition. I've been with sparkpeople off and on for a number of years but this time it's for keeps. Look forward to getting to know you.

Hey there! I have the same story as many on this team. I joined sparkpeople 3 and a half years ago and lost 30 pounds in 4 and a half months. I was within 5 pounds of my goal weight. I maintained (mostly) for about six months, then gradually (and in a yo-yo fashion) allowed 26 pounds to creep back on. I'm a stress eater, I love food, and I really don't love to exercise so losing is a real challenge. I've been successful before on sparkpeople, so I know it's possible to lose. My goal is to lose 29 pounds which will put me at my goal weight by my birthday in September (36 weeks).

Hi all! I'm Trish and I think I'm definitely going to like this place. I came across it while searching "how many calories are burned doing Zumba". Seems that there are quite a bit burned! That is my motivation. So... I joined the SparkPeople site, looked around for a bit and then had dinner. Great choices were made because of this find today. YAY! And AFTER dinner, I got in a 40 minute workout. For me, that's HUGE! I'm quite excited to go on this journey!! Thanks again and can't wait to get to know some of you!

I have about 95 lbs to lose to reach my goal but am working on 5 lbs at a time. It sounds like losing 5 lbs is a lot more manageable than saying I need to lose 95 lbs. I lose weight very slowly and I yo-yo a lot, but I really want this weight off. I've tried a number of different plans but I think for me it's a matter of cutting calories but making the most of what calories I do allow myself. So I'm trying to eat more fresh produce and fruits, and limiting all the junk foods. I do eat meat but am working to cut out a good portion of that and limit it to mainly fish and chicken. My exercise is sporatic at the best. I'll go days and not do much then for a week or two go crazy with activities that are considered exercise. I need to get more into a regular routine of daily exercise that I enjoy doing.

Hey ya'll. Im new to Sp. I have been a member for a few days now and I love the site. Im 42 years old. Married mom of 4 kids. And one Husband who is an Awesome Cook. Which is a little why I have packed on the pounds recently. That and the fact that He loves me no matter what size I am. A womans dream, I know. But after being together I have packed on about 100 pounds. Yikes. Where did that come from. Lol. After recently being diagnosed with some health problems, I realized that it was a wake up call for me to get healthier. I want to be here for all my children, Especially my youngest two (Thier 4 and 3). I Miss being able to do the things with them that I did with my older two. So My Journey Begins. I want my kids to not be embarrased because thier mom is big. I want my oldest son to be surprised when he comes home from Afghanistan in a couple months when he see's that I have lost some weight. He will be so proud of me. He's a Marine and if it was up to him he would have me running every place I went. I think he was trying to kill me lol. Seriously tho, it's time for me to make this Journey and I am ready. Bring it on. Im tired of Fat and ready to be Fit again.

I am a new member of this team. My name is Amanda and I am a stay at home mommy of three beautiful children. I am not "fat" but I am working on becoming more fit. My BMI does say that I am overweight and I really want to get myself into the normal zone so that I am a healthier mom and wife. My program I am using right now is the Insanity workout. I always wanted to do it and watched the commercials for so long I had them memorized. Finally my husband surprised me by saying I could go ahead and order it...this last week has been the hardest workouts I have ever done and I love every minute of them!!

Welcome back to Spark & MUNCHKIN131! If you are not using the Nutrition and Fitness trackers you are missing out on a super great resource!
Good evening everyone. I have been a SP Member for several years. And unfortunately I have not yet hit my goal weight. I am on several other chat sites and I find it very supportive. And informative. I would like to loose 60 lbs and as you can tell from my ticker at the bottom I am not nearly there. I have to tell you when I first joined SP. I was down to 142lbs. So it does work if you work it. Hope everyone is having a good nite and remember to drink you water.

Welcome back to Spark Karley! Yes I found a couple of articles that might be of help to you with the shin problem.
Hello. I recently started my life-changing habits (NOT a diet :) ) for the second time. I am so upset that I fell off track and need to start over, but I am done beating myself up over it. I have been eating healthy for 2 months now - but have not been able to motivate myself to exercise again, even though I remember how much I loved it when I did. It is harder now, and I want to be at the level I was once at, so rather than be disappointed I just don't try.
My husband is a runner. I would love to try this, but I have horrible pains in my shins when I even try to walk to fast - the tendons tighten right up and my foot does not move up or down anymore. Are there any tips for me to overcome this? My other fitness passion is tennis, but that is dependent on having someone to play with, which has not worked out for me since I moved to a small town.

Hello, I'm Sandra, 34, wife and mother of two tots. I've struggled with weight loss for so long; losing weight with great difficulty, only to regain the weight and some with soooo much ease. Its a vicious cycle I hope to break permanently with the help I've found here on SP.

Work your way slowly into things, there are LOTS of free exercise videos available on Spark if that helps you in anyway.
I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life and it's time I get back to a weight I know will be healthier for me. I'm working towards getting down to 185 lbs. I won't be thin but I'll be much healthier than I am now.

Welcome April! So glad you found us! You are doing great - now just keep up the motivation!
hello April! That's my mother in laws name! pretty name!
Stepping it up is easy but hard at the same time... I have been watching biggest loser on netflix and I am watching season 3 and it has kept me motivated to work out for 4 days in a row but let me tell you it has been HELL!!! My legs hurt so bad and so do my arms but I have not let that stop me from "stepping it up" I have lost 20 lbs this month and it has showed me that this girl that has been over weight almost her entire life can make a better life for her!
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and narcolepsy this past month and my o2 stats were Extremely low in the mornings and while I sleep. and Since working out they have went from the mid 70% to lower 90% and I never felt better.
So definitely step it up! It's well worth it!

Hello there! I am April, 35,married 3 kids, and have been here more than once. I am needing too step things up a bit. Weight loss seems to be easy it is just staying motivated. I joined a challenge(biggest loser) at work. Lost 24 pounds, and 60 pounds before with SP. So i know what i have to do. I would "like" to loose maybe 40 more. That would put me at 180 which i think would be skin and bones. I am not sure if i can do that when i start thinking about it. Thats alot. But anyway tata for now!

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa. I have yo yo dieted for years and years... I have struggled with obesity since I was 12 yrs old. a lot of my history is on my page, feel free to read that to get to know me a bit more. Last year I lost 40 lbs and stopped doing things as someone told me I was losing it too fast and it upset me a great deal and destroyed my will power, now I have made my own team on here and I am staying motivated and want to be the smaller one in my marriage instead of my husband.
