I joined sparkpeople one night at work back in sept of 11 but never even looked around much. So when I decided to take control of my health and lose some weight in March I started logging food in My Fittness Pall and remembered sparkpeople part way into march, so I started looking in here daily, I still use MFP for a food log because so many of my recipes are now there, and I have a fitbit that sync's with both MFP and sparkpeople. I log in sparkpeople daily and keep my fitness and measurements here, there is a lot of content here that I am slowly exploring.

I live in Northern Maine, turning 60 this year on July 5th, so thinking about retirement. I have a farm that keeps me extra busy along working as a Medical Technologist in a Hospital Laboratory 3-12 hour night shifts a week. Besides all the animals here, I enjoy doing gardening both veggies and flowers. I have two ever expanding orchards and tons of kinds of berries. I also love quilting and I sew a lot of clothing for my two nieces American Girl Dolls. Reading is also one of my favorite things to do, I don't watch TV at all, don't even have one, but I love to curl up with a good book. I love to cook and make up my own recipes, I put up a lot of food from my garden and raise all my own meat and eggs.

I came to this group because I haven't done a collage yet, and needed some ideas, magazines are not plentiful in my house so I was thinking about one of the online ones.

I joined SP and this team about a year ago but stuck to it only a couple of months. Now I'm up and running again. I did make a vision collage last year and will post it when I can find my camera and cable, but I think I need to alter it a bit to keep it fresh.

Hi, I'm here because Spark Coach suggested that I check it out, too. emoticon

I have wanted to put together a vision board for years. I guess it is time for my to stop procrastinating and just do it. Like with my workouts, it doesn't have to be perfect. I just need to start. And like my workouts, it can be a work in progress. I can add things as I have new desires. I can create new vision boards as I reach my goals, but I will never have one if I don't start.

I am going on a walk as soon as I put on my walking shoes. Then lunch at noon. I have scheduled putting together my vision board at 2 p.m.

Someone else said it for me: I'm here because my SparkCoach told me to check it out. I have a drawer full of magazines, plenty of glue and a board, so I am ready!
My name is Priscilla. I'm a "got-here-as-fast-as-I-could" Texan. I'm retired from a teaching career--Kindergarten, Art K-12, and private/group lessons.
I joined a cool group of lady artists called GAGA here in the San Antonio area and I look forward to exhibiting with them for a long time.
I have Type 1 diabetes (since 1979) and arthritis in my spine and hips.
My goal is to lose many years of weight by July 5th.
With that in mind, I so far have lost all of 4+ pounds, but who's counting??! I love SparkPeople!

Welcome everyone! Vision collages can grow in number through the years, as you change. Hold on to those that seem outdated, for their meaning can transform as you do. GARDNSONGSTRESS had a great idea for getting started, and it really is that easy. Just start tearing out images (or, if you're technologically inclined, keep track of those you like online). The other thing that helps is creating a "space," even if it's a corner of a room or desk. Add music, a candle - whatever draws you into the deeper part of yourself that can get lost in our busy lives. Thanks for sharing; you are each important and loved.

I'm starting fresh collages today. I have made some before and they were helpful for a while. At some point they lost their power so I think the takeaway is to refresh them anytime I feel disconnected from the vision...not just give up and put them away. I realize a vision board can best serve me by being fluid. I think I will transfer images that represent what I've accomplished from my current vision board to an "achieved it" board so I will keep my current board fresh and turn to my "achieved it" board when I'm feeling behind on my goals or feeling unsuccessful.

I don't know why I didn't want to get started on this project, once I collected the first picture I was hooked and did 3 in one night! I posted the last one in the gallery, I've already thought of other things I could have added but they'll have to wait until the next VB.

My name is Christie and I have been w/ SP for quite some time. Very successful in the being but then I put someone else before myself and disappeared. I made a few appearances here and there, but health issues and some other things I have been working on have allowed me to commit fully to the site again and I love the virtual vision board and am excited to work on my "physical" one. I did put a poster board in my office and hope to start w/ two words and build on it - Pause and Discipline. I look forward to committing to this team as well.

Good morning all!
I have been with Spark People and Spark Coach for awhile and lost 30 pounds. However, I hurt my foot and am on restriction for a few more weeks. I have been battling this for about 6 weeks now.

I did ok at first. I still ate well, but I couldn't exercise. After awhile, I lost all motivation and then I realized that I had gained 7 pounds. So, I returned to Day 1 on Spark Coach and started over. I am eating better and am exercising as much as the doctor will allow. I have lost 1.5 pounds and feel much better.

I keep telling myself to look at where I am and NOT where I have been or where I will be. I am trying my darndest to be happy with the little 1/2 mile I am allowed to walk and with my stretching exercises I get to do each morning. I am positive that this vision collage will work for me.

However, I cannot be creative on demand, so mine will probably take awhile. I will more than likely make it on wordle because I love that little online app.

Hi,
I signed up for Spark Coach a few weeks ago. Summer is all but over in this resort town and I've started digging into material. My assignment is to make a vision collage, which I will do in Photoshop, since that's what I do at work all day anyway.

I'm going to make it my computer desktop when I'm finished, and put it on all my home computers as well.

Hello, all!! I've been sparking for 2 years, with a few months of inactivity at the end of 2012. this February, I re-committed to my goals and became active on the site again. I had never created a vision collage--didn't think it would be helpful. I've since learned the power of visual motivation an rewards. I have created an accomplishment board, but not an actual vision collage of my goals. I'm going to get started on that right away!

As a way to sift through all the information I've accumulated in the past 2 years, I joined the Spark Solution Summer Challenge to get back to the basics. I have learned some things that didn't sink in the first time around--like motivational tools and being active in the community. I was so glad to read about this team and immediately joined!

I've been sparking for nearly 3 weeks (it might be 4, I can't count) and have lost 6 pounds. I joined with the intention of losing 50 pounds, but that may change. Joined Spark Coach this week as I have no other encouragement. Was diagnosed as prediabetic, so thought I had better sort that - but that was a misdiagnosis, not sure how to change that info here. I also have joined this team to get the most from SparkCoach. It is pretty evident I need the help because I cannot find the vision collage gallery. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I am also not new to SparkPeople but new to SparkCoach. I have been watching my weight for my entire life and "just" want to lose 10 pounds. I am thinking because it is "only" ten pounds that I can start tomorrow. Well, I now have only two pair of pants that fit, so "tomorrow" has come and gone too many times.

This is one challenge I am going to finish.

hello! I started SP on 1/6 and am going to start a collage. I lost 3 pounds the first week and my weigh ins are on Monday. I have 115 pounds to lose and I am looking forward to meeting and making new friends to help motivate me. I have many medical problems which some are due to being overweight. JULIERAE40 - No you would not be a slacker. I've been a member here at Sparkpeople (on and off) since 2007. I didn't make my collage until recently. Also, I made an online collage. I'm not a magazine cut out person. LOL. So, work on what you think is important. If you are looking at a magazine you're allowed to cut stuff out of and you see something motivating, cut it out and save it. Maybe post 1 motivational picture on the fridge or something. Other than that, this is your journey! Whatever works for you is best. Keep up the great work!

Okay, here's the thing..........making a vision collage really sounds like a hassle to me right now. Does that make me a slacker? I want to take in all the advice from Sparkpeople because obviously, spark coach knows more about how to succeed than I do. So far, I have purchased spark coach help, joined the fast breaks, set myself a workout schedule, made goals about healthy eating and used all of the motivational tools like blogging, journaling and recording positive things and thankful things and things I like about me, and having to go through a bunch of magazines looking for things that motivate me and cut them out and glue them to a board just seems like a chore. Honestly, right now I am pretty well occupied with adding in the exercise right now. Would I be missing the benefits if I did this project over time? I do occasionally look through a magazine or two and I could collect things to go toward completing this thing but carving out more time in my 60 hour week seems impossible right now. Sorry. emoticon

Hi,

I'm Amalia and I'm new to SparkCoach and thus this team. I never created a collage or vision board before so it was interesting. I just made one on Glogster like another post suggested. It wasn't the hardest thing I've ever done but I can't figure out how to get it on here and how to put it on my desktop of my computer. Oh well. I will probably make another one some day when I feel more motivated. I've just been kind of blah lately so it's hard to want to make a motivating collage when you don't care. Hopefully I'll snap out of this funk soon and maybe finding inspiring things for my collage will help.

It can be an online item, spark people motivational saying, or something you create - or just start tearing apart some of those magazines that need to be tossed. There are TONS of things in them.

Celebrating 10 awesome months of SP and the new me on this awesome journey. I posted my vision board that got me to Sassy & Sexy by Sixty.

BUT I am struggling to find and define new Goals and a Vision to get me to the next stage. Hence, I am here AND I will get there.

Hello! Spark Coach told me to make a vision collage, which I've always thought was not a big deal before, but I did it anyway. And I'm so glad I did! I have it as the background on my computers at work and home and on my cell phone. It keeps me focused and when the motivation is waning I look to the inspiration and bigger picture that it provides me and it helps me stay on track. I even took the plunge of sharing mine with my facebook friends and people were very supportive!

I'm starting a Better Health journal with 8.5"x11" vision boards of the different aspects of becoming stronger and healthier. I made the first one last night and uploaded it here this morning. I think these will be good motivators for me. I'm going to put them in a binder that I can fold back to display whichever board I need help with or inspiration from each day.

Hi,
I am new to this team. My friend who introduced me to SP told me about this group so I am joining. I joined SP in April 2010 with a loss of 29 lbs. I am a grandmother of 3 and live in western British Columbia in Canada.
Once I figure out how to put the collage on the page, I will do so. For those who might already be my friend, you can find my collage on my photo page.
Look forward to meeting some of this team.

Hi - My name is Christy. I just put my two collages on the Team Photos. I also have them on my Spark Page. I love them both, they were made at different times of my life! The one that I can hang up in person is great though, I love being able to see it all the time.
