Hi,
WIO is a great thing! I wear my fitbit on my sock when walking on the Wii. I think it captures more of the steps.
Have fun!

Hi all!

Just restarted my game yesterday. I've missed it so much!

9.000 steps on the board, 5000 on my fitbit.

And my legs feel sore today :)

Hi! I'm Chris. I just started on this journey. I used Wii Walk It Out a couple of years ago and had a wonderful time! We wore out our Wii so we now have another one and I'm ready to begin getting fit.

Hi my name is Lorna. I heard about WIO from a fellow sparkster who said she uses it for exercise from the 50+ with 50 to 99 pounds to lose team. So I started hunting for one in department stores. Finally went to amazon and got it for $32.79. It arrived on Saturday and I popped into my Wii for the first time on Monday. Played for a short time and shut it off. Yesterday I played for 30 minutes and barely knew the time went by. Today I played for 45 minutes and am really starting to like it. But had questions as I fully do not know what to do when some of that stuff pops up. So I searched Wii Walk it out on SP and came right to this team. Love all the helpful pointers and am looking forward to doing it again tomorrow. I also wear the fitbit one so this helps me get those 10000 steps.

My name is Barb. I have been married for 30 years. I was diagnosed with Diaphragm Dysfunction in October 2012 (which causes a shortness of breath with little to no activity) and Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disorder in March. I am trying to slowing increase my stamina. I ordered WIO on Amazon and it has been shipped so hoping it arrives in a few days. I figure I can set it to easy and turn off the penalties and do as much as I can at my gentle pace. My take me a long time to get anywhere but this sounded like it could be fun and not to taxing.

Every day is a good day for a walk!

Not sure if I am doing this right. My name is Bonnie and I have been married for 33 years and live in Georgia. I have been on Nutrisystem since May and have lost 14# so far. I want to lose 60# and the Walk It Out game is so much fun. I have already finished one island that I call Jones Island and will start Island #2 tomorrow. Do you have a start up date for the Dare Challenge or do we just jump in? I am so ready for this challenge.

Hi everyone...just joined SP today and happy to have found this team. My husband got me a Wii with the WIO, Fit Plus, and Sports DVDs a couple of years ago (subtly telling me I need to lose weight). It was a novelty at first and like a lot of things that caused me to have to exert energy, I lost interest very quickly.
Now I'm soooo tired of huffing and puffing, not being able to find clothes that fit, and enduring increasing joint pain. Last week I decided to try the WIO again, and find myself enjoying it. I have a long way to go to lose the weight I want to lose but right now this is the only way. Any encouragement anyone can provide will be appreciated!

For ITSMEVKB....I think I'll delete that boom boom boom song from my playlist...I'm tired of it too!!

I just sort of randomly click and get what I get for the benches, cars, and those things but I actually stop walking to make sure I get all the song pieces. I need more songs! If I hear boom boom boom one more time.............

I got my Walk It Out yesterday and sort of got the hang of it today. I got my first rainbow, a bunch of trees, benches, signs, hydrants, lamp posts and a new song. I definitely need to work on walking in time to the music while still being able to click on things. I changed some of the settings to make it a little easier so hopefully I'll be able to change them back pretty soon.

Hi everyone,

Just received my WIO today and played for the first time. My ending stats were 2 miles and 6,888 steps. I only have 1/2 rainbow but I guess I will get better as I learn what is what LOL! I am also new to SP even though I joined back in I believe June 2012 I never really looked at this site. Since turning 60 in May, I made a life changing decision to get back in shape and lose all this extra weight once and for all.

I also enjoy playing the other games on the Wii which we have had since 2010 but rarely used. I find myself playing mostly the sports resort disc. It may not be the same as the "real" thing but it gets me off of the couch and moving!

I am looking forward to all I have to learn with WIO! Thanks everyone for letting me join your group. emoticon

Hi there,

The game is basically a walking game, but it is also so much more than that. The 120 songs are all at different speeds, which means that as you make them available (by collecting disc pieces as you walk), you can walk slower or faster to adjust your exercise rate.

As you walk around you collect chips which you then use to buy everything from potted plants and concession stands to houses and windmills, to gradually build up the island to a thriving community.

It is the building of the island that makes this walking programme such good fun and keeps you walking, often far longer than you expected, because you are trying to get a specific item before clocking off for the day.

I don't want to say too much more because half the fun is finding things out as you play, but you get the gist. I am halfway through my third island build and still play every day. :-)

Oh, and I have several Leslie Sansone DVDs, and use some of her moves with the faster songs for a bit of variety. I even dance sometimes. :-)

Hugs,
Lex xxx

Hi...new to this team...I have a Wii and want to dust it off and play again. I love the Just Dance, but saw this and I'm not quitesure what the game is, but I am becomeing very interested! Would someone just let me know what is it? Well, obviously it is about walking...LOL, but other than the Wii, do I need any other equipment? Any suggestions on the best place to purchase? Is it like Leslie Sansone's inside walking dvds?
Thanks in advance. emoticon emoticon

Hi, I'm Redd and am on my 2nd time through the island. When I don't feel like working out, I can generally talk myself into this. I tell myself to go 30 min and then usually go longer. The first time through was difficult, as I have no sense of direction, as my husband will tell you!

Hello!
I just bought a used copy from ebay for $45. Gamestop sells them for $15, but the nearest one that had a copy was over 100 miles away. I use a fitbit and I'm hoping to play Walk it Out to get a couple thousand steps in before work every morning. I can already picture myself just trying to open one more thing and being late for work. Anyway, it looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait until my copy arrives if a few days.

Hi all
I'm fairly new to Spark and to the general world of getting fit, I've bought a copy of WIO (or step to the beat as we call it over here) but its yet to arrive - keeping my fingers crossed it'll arrive in the next day or 2 - as I can't wait to get started :)

Hi there!

I'm another newbie to the game, and am approaching the completion of my first build after two weeks of solid playing. I can't believe how many hours I've clocked up playing this game, and I still absolutely love it!

Like you, I struggled to find a copy, and resorted to Amazon in the end, because as luck would have it, a copy of the British version popped up out of the blue!

So happy! I've been after this game for a couple of years.

Have fun exploring. It is a really enjoyable game!

Hi, I'm new to Wiiand WIO. Been trying to find new ways to keep fit and active and did some research on the Wii. While researching the console I found a Youtube video of the game Walk It Out and knew that I had to try it out. As some other team members have posted, this game is next to impossible to locate. After searching all the stores (both gaming and department) and all the pawn shops in my town, I finally broke down and purchased a used copy on eBay. It arrived Thursday night and I've been playing around with it for the last couple of days. Safe to say I love it! Can't wait to see my island being built.

emoticon Lexi. Remember, we do have the Dare to Walk it Out challenge daily. Do one day or all or just go back in the thread and pick something to do. I usually aim for about 3 miles worth of walking a day :)

I also do either Leslie Sansone along with Walk It Out or the Treadmill :)

I bought it in August 2010, and paid 34 euros for it (30... Quite a bargain!)

It is a very fun way to walk more when the weather or the time of the day doesn't allow it.
I haven't been very constant, but I finished my first island this year, and have been working my way on my second one.

Hi fellow Step to the Beater. :-)

I just spent about 25 minutes playing. I have a mini trampoline, and heard it could be useful for the game so I have tried on the trampoline, on the floor, doing Leslie Sansone walking moves and generally had a good play. It is night time and I only walked around the inside and outside of the stadium, but it was such good fun!

I can see this will be my 'go to' game for a while. I so love my Wii! *hugs it, or would if it wasn't in use by my daughter. She loves the game too and has played it more than me since it arrrived this morning. LOL

Have you had your copy long?

Hi there!

I have fancied the idea of Walk it out for the longest time but could NOT find it in the UK, unless I was prepared to play a crazy amount of money for it (the British version is called Step to the Beat). However, I was lucky enough to finally find a copy when I had some 'frivel' money to hand and it arrived today.

So excited, and I will get to play with it once I can get my daughter to leave it alone. LOL

Hi all,

I am not new to WIO, but I have recently rediscovered it thanks to my Fitbit. It helps me to walk more, although I tend to dance more than I walk.
Hope to see you in the daily challenge!

Okay, this is starting to be fun -- I took JARBRITT's (Marcy's) advice and just kept walking for a while, then clicked on a few things, opened up a few new routes, got a couple of rainbow pieces... didn't want to overdo it because I had bowling league tonight and the WIO is one heck of a lot harder than I expected it to be -- but also a lot more fun than I expected, I can see how it can make you want to keep going to get "just one more thing." Really glad I found this game, it's a fun change from just getting on the treadmill...

Just started using the Walk it out game. Have only used it twice, it was really fun. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to play and manuever around the island. It's easy to lose track of time and then suddenly realize how tired you are. I'm going to start using a mini trampoline to take my daily walk on, should be a pretty good workout. I hope it will help me lose these extra 16lbs I'm carrying around.

Just one day at a time. You do not have to do it all at once :) You can work on the same day for a week if you choose. I just do it to give people something to aim for ;)

Thank you on the tip for the 6 pieces of the rainbow. I played with the six and complained to the kids. LOL.

Holy Mackerel -- I was just looking at the daily walk it out challenge, I'm in but yikes! (I don't even quite know how to get a rainbow yet...) And, I think I might have to buy another TV so I can get enough time in with WIO without DH wanting to watch golf or football or something!

When you check the map and only see 6 rainbow pieces, make sure you turn off the game immediately before you have begun to play. Turn it back on and that usually resets it with all the rainbow pieces.

Hello - I just joined the team, but have had my WII Walk it out game since it came out.
I admit, i got away from playing it for awhile, but I have been very active with it since I joined Spark People. My kids laugh at me because I wont quit until i finish something.
I was very frustrated today... When I started, I clicke don the map to run a rough scan of where the rainbow pieces were located andf it said I only had six. I found all six and no rainbow. I tried differnt times, but still no rainbow. I even tried going inot the stadium, but no rainbow. So I built cafes instead. My daughter syas the people on the island are so nice to me becasue they think i am God. I have all of the songs finsihed as well as all of the zodiac signs. I have all of the magical clock hands, except 12 and I jsut read in the spoiler where to find 12. I do love this game. Some of the songs annoy me, so I speed skate or walk like a dork until they are over. I manage to stay on beat doing that rather than just walking.
I'm glad I found this team. I have some medcial issues in my near future to deal with, so I'm gald I can Walk it out when i need a break from reality.

Hi Sandy,
Don't worry, the cursor will steady with time as you get used to it. I can jump all over the place and still click on stuff now :) Remember, we have the daily dare to Walk it Out challenge each day. I put up things to build for the day. It is a very good way to get used to the game.

Hi everyone -- I just got my WIO game yesterday and only had a chance to check it out briefly today (before the Packers game, LOL), but it looks like it will be an enjoyable change from always using my treadmill. There seem to be a lot of things I don't quite "get" yet, so I'm reading through all the tips here, very helpful! Also, like a lot of other people have mentioned, it seems really hard to get the cursor to stay steady enough to hit anything while walking... does anyone have any advice about that? At any rate, I'm very glad to have found this group!

Wow, that is high. Used? For a while, they had them over $100 for new ones. Then about 3 weeks later, they came back down to the normal price of $39.99.

Hello, I'm Cassie. I received my wio game today and put it in. I spent more time getting set up than walking I had trouble opening the bubbles, LOL. I had trouble getting out of the stadium! I need practice controlling the wii-mote. I used the balance board today but I will try the nunchuck for a bit more freedom to move. I am 61, not very fit and need to step up the fitness.

Hi, I'm Tina. I've been using WIO for a year or so, on and off. I recently moved and the Wii was packed away for months during the transition....I just got it set back up again yesterday. I'm hoping to get myself motivated enough to start up again this week! I'm going to try to join in on the challenges, maybe that will help. Thanks for allowing me to join this group! :)

Hello everyone!
I am so happy to have found this group! I have been using the WIO for a couple years now--it is still my favorite exercise to do! I also use the Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds dvd's. I try to switch it up between those and also some of the other Wii fit games. I have a goal of 12,000 steps a day and try to do one of these things first thing in the morning to get my steps in and also to get up and moving! I love the Walk it Out and NEVER tire of it! I so wish they had an WIO2!! I am recently retired and moved to AZ about a month ago. I am excited to join this group and join in on the "challenges"! Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hello I'm Elaine. My WIO game just arrived from Amazon today. Even though I had already worked out for 30 minutes on my Wii Fit Plus, I couldn't resist trying out my new game. It takes a little bit of getting used to the controls, but so far I love it! I am looking forward to participating in WIO challenges. I found my first rainbow today. Thanks to GingerD03 for inspiring me to buy WIO!

Hi I'm Paula.

I love Walk It Out, and have been playing it off an on for a while. When I don't want to 'exercise', I still like to go and find my rainbow!

I have all the island routes built, all the songs, all the zodiacs, all the clock pieces. I know my way around the island well. And about 40% of all the other things (trees, stands, cars, etc). The areas I haven't populated much are the apartments and boutiques. (Who wants parking lots, cars, and housing anyway?)

I love the idea of joining one of these challenges on here! When does a new one start?

Also, when a new one starts, do we alll start out with a fresh new island that needs to be built? Otherwise, if someone says I need to buy a song, I can't because I already have all the songs?

Every day, every week, and every month is a new chance to make a difference -- in your life, in your self, and in others.

Hello, my name is Nora. I have been using this game for a few weeks now. I love it. Mostly what I love about it is how I can get my 10,000 steps in each day first thing in the morning, how it tracks how many miles and calories burned. I also love that we can control what songs we want to have played and build the town. So much fun.

Hi! My name is Mackie and I LOVE this game! I usually try to get my workout in early in the morning. I was late for work this morning because I was working towards unlocking the suspension bridge (which I did!) and didn't want to stop. I have only been using it a few days and am still figuring out stuff. What are the clock pieces for?

You just need the Wii-mote :-) and a nun-chuck. They should come with your Wii. You can play this using a Wii balance board, but I find it a very long time to walk in place. With the nun-chuck in your pocket you can walk around the room, or even into other rooms if your unit has enough range.

New to this group and game. I dont even have the game yet. I just got off amazon and placed my order. Been trying to find this game every where! I have called every place I can think of walmart, k-mart, meijers, best buy, game stop, target, ect ...NOTHING

well all else fails amazon. So I have no idea how this game works what it is about or anything. All I do know is you walk and everyone says it is fun! I need to lose 100lbs so why not have fun doing it?

My daughter also needs to lose over 100lbs she is not so excited about the gameor moving for that matter, so i hope this game will be fun for her watching me do it and maybe she will want to play also.

wish me luck! cant wait until it gets here... what all do i need to play this ? just the little things you hold in your hands? that looks like a tv remote?

Hello! I love WIO! I have to admit that I play it one quarter points. Cheating? I don't think so. I still walk for as long as I can (at least 30 minutes a day), but I get impatient building things, so my goal is to find my rainbow every day, and complete about one block of something.

I've just gotten back into it when school finished up, and expect to complete the island by the end of July.

Glad to find this group!

Hi, my name is Carol, and i'm in the UK, so my version is called Step to the Beat, but understand this is the same game. I got this a few months ago and did quite a bit of the island (very additctive), but for various reasons have not used for weeks!

One of my SP friends, Mater88 joined this group and made me think, great idea, must get walking again. Only had time for about 30 mins tonight, but managed to get my rainbow and the last few clocks (been looking for those for a while).

Completed everything except the items, but really looking forward to getting into this challenge and finishing it this time!

Hi. I'm MaryAnn. I just got my WIO today. I found it to be fun and very addictive. I look forward to many hours of fun and challenge. No one will find this surprising but on this my first day I spent an hour and 49 minutes and still didn't want to stop but I do have to eat and I have a bootcamp challenge to do today, too.
