Welcome. I concur regarding eating filling foods, like oatmeal in the morning to keep you from feeling hungry AND eat more often. Just be mindful of what you eat (calories/fat grams) and how much you eat for snacks. Nuts (especially walnuts, pecans, almonds) are my go to snack between meals; a handful plus a glass of water tames the tummy growls. Keep some with you all the time (car, purse, office) so that you are always prepared, and less tempted to choose less healthy alternatives. Planning is key.

Hi Laura,

Welcome to the Maine team! It sounds like you have plans in place and are ready to roll! You can do it!

As far as hunger, are you having a snack between meals? That is really the way to go, so you are not starving before the next meal, and end up eating too much.

I second that oatmeal, but try a big glass of water to tame that stomach growl!

I am new to maine and trying to get healthy! I just joined the planet fitness in biddeford and I am seeing the trainer in the morning. I really just want to look like I did 10 years ago (before I had my daughter)- is that so much to ask? ;)

Anyway, wish me luck! I have a long road! I have been trying to stay in the calorie goals and I swear I am ALWAYS hungry.. and not bored hungry, but stomach growling, getting shakey hungry. Any ideas for foods that will keep me full longer?
