I am my biggest obstacle and always have been. I can talk myself into things and then just not follow thru. I kick myself, but it doesnt seem to help. I know what I need to do, but find every excuse in the book not to. I am lazy.

But bears wake up from hibernating skinny and very hungry, I do not know about other species that also hibernate. Being so far south now I am hoping for cool weather as it is to hot still for much time outside.

My biggest obstacle right now is to overcome the increasing cold weather and darker hours, and continue to try to work out. WHen it's cold and dark, all I want to do is SLEEP and EAT. I swear, in another life, I was a hibernating species!

yeah, I do up/down when I need to kick into a high weight loss mode. Right now, I'm just doing 'medium day' to low day-every day calorie intake, due to inactivity. An UP day would not be good for me right now. Pain is a great appetite suppressant-it's hard to eat anything when you're in pain.

The Alternate Day Diet might work for you as it can be done with no exercise. It helps with inflammation as well. I hope you get better soon.

yeah, I hear ya. I'm the same way with bread/refined carbs.

My biggest challenge right now: how am i going to lose weight when I've been told I need major spinal surgery? MRI came in and showed complete herniations of L5, L4, L3, L5 S1, spinal stenosis, and scoliosis. My GOD! I just woke up one morning a couple of months ago in pain, and now I'm finding out I'm a mess. Weird!! I am flat on my back!

I would say it is my liking for junk food. I should have gotten passed this as I have been working on my weight loss for over 4 years now. I should be at my goal by now, but I just love junk food so much I mess up all too often.

Life is a roller coaster full of obstacles, right?

i have been in pain, and bleeding nonstop for 22 days, with clots. Not feeling much like exercise. But I finally have some answers, based on labs, CT and ultrasound-- It's just uterine fibroids (one that is larger than others), and that is a relief, since I know those are benign and easily treated!

My biggest obstacle is me (pun intended!) I am having a bout of plantar fasciitis, which makes walking difficult & not a good idea. Then I moved junk around in the garage to get stuff for our yard sale, and my back went bad. It takes a while to get my back back on track. Now that I'm well enough to do water aerobics again, either the weather isn't cooperating or my schedule gets so chucky jammed that I can't get there when the classes are held.

So I just eat instead. And am afraid to get on the scale & see how much I've gained. Or take my BS to find out how high it is.

I remember in Weight Watchers, we'd always be asked what our "red light foods" were. For me, it's bread. bread bread bread. If I can manage to go a few days without bread, it does become easier to resist. The, same goes for sweets, with me. If I can resist for a few days, it gets easier to resist. Not sure why that seems to be the case, but it does work. Still... just resisting for a DAY is nearly impossible!

I have always been my biggest obstacle and worst enemy. I love late night sweets. If I have anything in the house my will power ends up going bye bye.I think it really goes back to my childhood and having deserts if I ate a good dinner.What a bad life habit I learned. You all know clean your plate, starving children someplace etc.. emoticon

I think my biggest obstacle is in my head. I can do this but every once in awhile I give in to temptation, ICE CREAM, is my down fall.

... to losing weight?

Is it something temporary? A medical setback or a current event that prevents you from being organized? Or is it all in your head?


Right now, I have unexplained pain, which will hopefully be explained through my upcoming CT scan. And hopefully, that explanation will not be anything alarming. Until then, I'm just taking ibuprofen and trying to bed earlier, toget more sleep, since whatever it is I have going on makes me so tired.

If it weren't for that, I'd be so much more active....

What's your current biggest obstacle? Are you going to "ride out the storm"? or do you have a plan for getting over/around that obstacle?
