The Beast is definitely one of my favorites!!! Not sure where you are at in the country but some other favs of mine/ours is Prowler at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Renegade at Valleyfair near MInneapolis, Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk,
I don't really know on the park because there are no parks near our house(which sucks), but I love St Louis's and Orlando's rides! I loved the Mount Everest roller coaster ride at Disney land! I rode it 5 time before my dad stopped me(he was feeling sick; me I had plenty of energy left to ride it a lot more)! LOL! I like most roller coasters(not kiddy coasters)! I can't just say only one, because I love all of them in different ways! Happy new year's day!
Hey, I joined this team last night and didn't have the time to come by and introduce myself! I am Haley and I love roller coasters! I love all the major ones-no kiddy rides! I have a weird way of making people come on rides with me- I pull them by the arm with me to the ride! My ex-bo and my guy friend were both afraid of the hulk and the batman roller coaster rides so I grabbed them both(both protesting the whole way) and took them on the rides! We rode the rides about twenty more time after because they had so much fun! LOL! People should really believe me when I say that ROLLER COASTERS WILL NOT HURT YOU, JUST LET YOU HAVE TONS OF FUN!
Welcome!!!! We hope this group helps those of us who visit amusement parks with our health/weight goals.
We've visited SF Great America the last two years. We definitely enjoyed the Whizzer and was disappointed to hear they may be removing it soon. ;-( It was first class of SFGA to purchase and move the Little Dipper over there!
Be sure to visit the other topics, let us know of new parks you will or want to visit, favorite rides, tips and tricks to avoid 10000 calories per park visit and such!
I've loved roller coasters since I was old enough to ride them. My first was Willard's Wizzer at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL.. I was probably 4yrs old.
I've rediscovered roller coasters now that my kids are old enough to enjoy the park (my oldest not quite tall enough for all the coasters, but soon..). Its really nice to pass along the same memories I had when I was little. I'm still fond of mine:)

Advise on Cedar Point - take a couple days!!! If this is a big trip where you plan on spending a couple/few days I'd get a Platinum Pass. This gives you all access to all the Cedar Fair parks, free parking, and other bonuses.
I'd also think of going to Kings Island on your way up (Cincinnati area). It is a sister property of CPoint.
Hi! I'm the parent of a 12th grader and 10th grader. We've been coaster addicts for years an my youngest son wants to be a coaster designer. We've told him to make great grades and go for it! It must be an extremely hard career to break into, though. With the way he can create coasters and amusement parks on his computer, I am confident he may be the one to break in and achieve his dream. Our favorite parks are mostly in Florida (since we haven't traveled far from the south). Busch Gardens in Tampa tops the list, followed by Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios in Orlando, and Six Flags of Atlanta, GA. Our sons want to travel to Cedar Point to celebrate high school graduation, so we're planning a summer trip this year (hopefully if we still have jobs). Any tips for Cedar Point would be appreciated :)
Hi, I'm a dad to a 3rd and 6th grader, and for and a half now, we've been coaster addicts. At the end of the 2009 season I found I was very challenged to fit on some of my favorite rides - time to lose this weight!
We are very fortunate to live near the World's best Amusement Park - Cedar Point!
