Hi Lisa and welcome to the team. As you can see, we're all a bunch of animal lovers. I have two kitties. My 18 year old Ms Molly) is a diabetic, almost completely deaf and is now blind but boy can she purr. My younger girl is 11 1/2 (PolyDactyl) and is true to her name. She has beautiful mitten feet. Seven toes on each front foot and five on each back. You are so right about them being family and I can't imagine life without them.

I loved the way you wrote about your relationship with your pets.....beautifully stated and oh, so true.
I have a sweet doxie right now - who is the love of my life - Lucy. She's getting older and it's a little sad to see her slow down. But she is a sweet bundle of waggy love. I had cats for decades ---- and love them also. I'd love to have a house full of animals, but due to health issues - I can only handle one at a time.
But one - or many - pets add immeasurably to our lives - don't they. Welcome to our team.....it's good to meet you!
Best regards, Libby

Thanks everyone. I look forward to getting to know all the wonderful people here. See this is exactly WHY I brag about SP all the time. I feel blessed to have found this site and the teams of caring individuals that make this site so special. (((hugs))).

Welcome, Lisa. I have both cats and dogs and they are all members of my family. There is no better way to wake up in the morning then with a loving cat telling you "Good Morning" and a dog sleeping against your back.
Some days it's not worth chewing through the straps! Thanks, Jules. Frustration is trying to find your glasses without your glasses. Thanks, Mary Anne!

Hello everyone thanks for the warm welcome. I have been on SP since July and it's been a wonderful adventure. And now I get to make friends with people who will understand that my "cat" isn't just a cat but my immediate family. He keeps me company, listens to my good day rants and bad day rants..my secrets and doesn't tell a soul. He makes me laugh, give me love when I need it,picks me up when I'm down. He depends on me to give him the best life he can have-so he teaches me responsibility, caring, empathy, nurturing, unconditional love. He is a best friend, a teacher and a guide through life. I am a better person for having him beside me. Nice to meet everyone, hugs to all your fur babies. Lisa

Hi, Lisa. We have adopted cats. Since we live in the country, they either show up on their own or someone dumps them. I don't know how many we have. Just call me the crazy cat lady down the street. We have rescue dogs, too, so I guess I'm also the crazy dog lady down the street. Welcome to the board.

Hi I'm Lisa , I have always adopted cats or they have just shown up at my doorstep. I currently have 1 cat named Chip. I adopted brothers in 2009 Chip and Checkers. I lost Checkers to congestive heart failure this past March. Still miss him daily. Chip is a joy to love though so he has been a blessing too. Nice to meet everyone :)
