I'm sorry you can't exercise the way you'd like to, there are many ways to "get in" a bit of exercise. I'll post a link to the limited mobility exercises here on Sparks, just do what you can, it's the fact that you are trying to exercise that's important, don't worry if if you can't do hours of it.
I also have health issues that preclude walking and I know it is really hard to lose without exercise. However it can be done, just be reallly really vigilant with what you eat and move as much as you can, even fidgeting helps!! Good luck Shirley!
Think you can or think your can't - either way you will be right!

Hi Shirley and welcome to this wonderful and caring team. Sounds like you do have many health issues and I hope you will be able to take your walk soon without having to rest. Just take one day at the time!!!!
Sandi My hubby and I have just celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary, can't believe we've been married that long! We have 2 children and 4 grandchildren and live in Tallahassee, Florida.
I am a 56 year old female that has had a double cerebral brain stem stroke with damage and has diabetes i have been on Metformin 2 times daily for over 5 years and as of recently have been also put on the Levemir Flex Pen 1 time daily. After the stroke I lost alot of the ability to exercise normally and as for walking i can but maybe a block stopping 2 to 3 times to rest. I would like to do this walk without stopping. And I always use a walker. So needless to say I put the weight on and for my own well being and health I have to loose close to 30 pounds. Thank god I ran across this program I believe it will help.
