I will keep you in my prayers and send positive vibes your way ~ Cancer Stinks. This past memorial day I lost my mom to leukemia.
I'll check out the lounge and definitely want to get into any challenges for added motivation. I'm just back from vacation (Jamaica) and so I am swamped and trying to catch up on stuff... hoping to get more on the forums on the weekend!!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
Welcome aboard, Dee! That's funny, my middle name is Dee! Anyway, I am also a cancer survivor (thyroid) who is going through tests to see if my cancer has returned. I was not a good swimmer, still am not, and had issues with being underwater at first, but now, after only four years of diving, am a Divemaster!
So, on beating cancer, and welcome to the dive community! I know you will do great!
We all hang out and chat in the Narced Lounge, so come and join us there. Sometimes we get a bit carried away, but it's all in fun! Also, every month we have a weight or inches loss challenge you are more than welcome to join!
See ya in the lounge!!!
I am a person of infinite possibilities and dreams.
Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.
This past September I had my last chemo treatment and I am officially a breast cancer survivor. My hair has grown back and MOST of the residual affects are gone (still have a little bit of neuropathy in my feet - but no so much that I can't walk, drive and do pretty much whatever I want).
My hubby and I have always wanted to scuba and have kept putting it off because we didn't have time or money. Well... that has hardly changed much but having been to death's doorstep... our priorities have shifted and we have decided that NOW is for the living!
We signed up for Scuba Lessons at our local "Scuba Shack" (and SSI dive center) and our lessons start this Sunday.
Oh, did I mention that I am not a super strong swimmer and I am very afraid of being under water! LOL! That is a fear I am facing head on. I've "tried" scuba and did the underwater thing .. and I've been practicing my snorkeling this week... and so far, I'm doing okay with the underwater thing.
Anyway -- I believe in the power of a team and look forward to getting to know you all!!
