I'm the same as CDNDiver. I wore contacts while diving and never had any issues. I just had Lasic in January so for the first time since second grade I'm not blind as a bat.

My husband's eyes are not that bad and he usually wears glasses. What he does is he uses disposable contacts for diving.

So maybe contact your eye doc for a contact lens prescpription and get a few boxes of disposables. Get enough to try out before the vacation and enough to get you through diving.

I dove with contacts for years, not a problem. I had Lasic Surgery last year so I no longer need them. If you don't have contacts, and don't intend to buy a prescription mask. I think your out of luck, unless there is something I am not aware of.

Certainly is something to think about Jackie. Good luck and hope you come back and tell us all about your trip.

I would love to but we can only afford this type of vacation every 4 or 5 years. Honestly it hadn't even crossed my mind. Last visit we went with another couple who didn't dive. This vacation it's just me and my husband so maybe we should. I'll have to mention it to him tonight. We did see another couple 4 years ago getting their certification and they spent the entire week studying and diving. Wow, thanks for the suggestion. We planned this vacation to dive we might as well go all out and dive the entire vacation.

I would still like to know what people are doing about the glasses issue. Thanks again.

I need reading glasses and bought the lenses that I can stick on the my mask but I am not overjoyed with them so took them off. I know a few people who wear contact lenses and a few who bought perscription lenses on their masks. This is more expensive but probably the way I woud go if I had too. I am sure we will hear from others who may have this problem.

I am just curious why you don't get certified rather than take a resort course again since you love it so much.

I have been lurking for a while. I'm leaving in 2 weeks for Jamaica which I intend to take the resort certification and dive. We did the same thing 4 years ago also in Jamaica and loved it. It was the highlight of our vacation and I am hoping will be the highlight of our upcoming vacation. In the past 4 years my eyesight has deteriorated to the point I have to wear glasses. Do any of you have to wear glasses and what do you do while diving?
