I believe Zebra said she would come the 1st week in July and be around for the weekend of July 5/6.
We are planning our vacation for July 12-26 so will not be around for those 2 weeks.
Not sure about the tanks. You might want to check on that. But if you book a charter you may want to just rent the tanks from them.

There are some strong currents on some of these dives. I did a few of them. The Muskie & the Lilly Parson were dives I did for my AOW and the currents were strong that say.Did thKinghorn in Rockport and the barge there. You might beinterested in the Keystorm which is on the US side. If you come make sure you have the proper identification. A passport may be required.

Michela, when in July is Zebra going to be there? We would love to come and meet you guys, but Brian can not go anywhere until after the 20th of July (some deal at work so he can't take off). Let me know, and if it is the end of July, we will be there!!!!

Thanks for the website! Brian (my bf, not husband) and I will check it out. I did look at it briefly, and seems like lots of 'em say there is a strong current, have you been to these sites? Is it a strong current or not too bad? I love that we can get info from each other on here!!!

If you can do 42 degrees in a 7ml you are good. I could never do that. I am such a wimp with cold that I wait until end June when the water temp is about 64 degrees. If it warms up earler I'm there. My bf also has a drysuit and start his season earlier and he is going double tanks this year and also wants to go into tech diving.

There are wrecks at many depths. Check out this link for an idea of what's there. You can also google the different charters there and see what interest you & your hubby.

Zebra is coming down in early July, would be great of you guys come too.

Michela, At Brockville, is it possible to do the dives in a 7 mil wetsuit? How deep are the wrecks? Brian has a drysuit, but I only have a 7 mil suit, which works for all the diving I have done so far. I am good down to 42 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes or so with it. That's what it was at the Prinz Willem in Lake Michigan at 80 ft last summer.

Bikin too bad you didn't get to the C53 wreck in Coz. It is not a tech dive but was a nice change and there was some penetration if you wanted. Swimming away from the wreck we saw the submarine in the distance and were waving at them as they were taking pics of us. That was fun!

You should come to Brockville, Ontario Canada and visit The one Thousand Islands. Nothing but wreck diving there.

There are wreck dives over here, but I'm not the person to ask about it. I have only done those couple of dives last fall from shore and one dive in an inland lake here. I'm a warm water diver. Because of my limited upper body strength, I find anything over 3m way too cumbersome. I feel like that kid in the movie "A Christmas Story" (I think that's the name of it). The one that falls over wearing so much winter clothing that he can only squirm around and can't get up. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I didn't mean that Brian didn't enjoy the diving in Cozumel, he loved doing the swim-throughs in the coral and loved seeing all the colorful fish and such. He just prefers wreck diving.

Yeah.... the wreck on the leeward side of Cozumel is far from technical diving, so I am afraid that if he didn't find anything at CZM amazing, the wreck wouldn't have changed that. Too bad; there's plenty to see there!

Made it out to Desecheo today - the island 12 miles off the west end of Puerto Rico. Viz was amazing, and I believe I got some nice shots of marine life. We did Las Cuevas - a site that stuns because we're up against the shore and can hear the waves crashing above up while we enjoy the caverns.

Can't believe how my week has flown by. Last dives were great!

Back to reality and dry land tomorrow. Waaaaaaaaa....
Will post a link when I upload photos.

Oh! I looked in my Atlas and see where you are from...Just south of where the ferry goes to in Muskegon from here! So, are there any good diving spots in Lake Michigan on the Michigan side? Any good wreck diving anywhere on your side of the lake? Brian and I had talked about maybe going to Michigan to dive if we could find something there that interests us. He loves wreck diving (he's a technical diver on the Sheriff's dept dive team) so he was a bit disappointed with the diving in Cozumel, since they wouldn't take us to the one and only wreck they had there. So, I guess we will be looking at other places to go so we can do wreck diving. And if we find stuff close to home, all the better and cheaper than going out of country!!

Oh, you're on the other side of the lake from me. The only dives I've done in Lake Michigan were last fall from shore. There is an old pier at the beach we go to. Sometimes you can find the old peir heads. We dove it several days in a row on a warm week in September. Very shallow. In fact we wen back and snorkeled it once we found it. emoticon

I live in sothwestern Michigan, near Saugatuck, a quaint waterside resort town.

Kissie, I dove just out from Milwaukee (I live in Waukesha) on the Prinz Willem. I did it once in July and once in September. Had fantastic visibility both times, but the second time the water was a bit choppy and I wasn't feeling all that hot. But once I got below 20 feet I felt a lot better.

I'm extremely jealous of you all! I have only gone to Cozumel (last week), other than that, only the dingy little local lakes and Lake Michigan. It'll be a while before I can afford to go anywhere again. Brian is still paying child support for three (for another seven years yet) and still has lots of bills from his ex in his divorce from a while ago. Oh well, I can dream....

Thanks LK I was wondering about that - sounds cool. One of my favorite dives was a Shark dive in Fiji - it was great!

Hi - I've been going to Kailua-Kona at least once a year for the past 4 years and always find time to dive there. Waters are great! It's not as colorful as Cozumel but it's comfortable for diving vacations. If you go, make sure to take in a Manta Dive in the evening...it's breathtaking!!!

Hi Kissie and all emoticon My last "big" trip was to Raoatan - Fantasy Island resort - 3 dives a day and awesome! Went with a great group of buddies and dove until I died!1 They had a wonderful shore dive with a boat and a plane!! Saw seahorses, octopi, crabs, etc etc - no dolphins or whale sharks though emoticon I would go back in a heartbeat - our dive master was great! And the zipling through the rainforest was an experience I will not repeat - but am so glad I did!

My husband won't go overseas emoticon He got certified when we were dating and did the majority of his diving in Lake Tahoe - which is clear but no fish other than Macks and trout! So I want to take him to Hawaii or the USVI I think.

I have dove the DR, Akumal (cozumel reef), Roatan, Fiji emoticon , Cabo, Channel Islands (mmmm lobster ona liveaboard!) etc. I love it!! So stoked to meet you all -

Sarah

Yes, I did Kailua-Kona in April 2001. It was fun and beautiful. I loved the fish! They were like all the fish I know from the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Gulf of Mexico, but they had on party clothes!

I spent two days observing behaviors and body styles - making guesses about who/what they were, then bought a fish ID book to check how my conjectures were. Didn't do too badly.

My overall impression of Hawaii was that it smelled wonderful! Open a car door or condo door - mmmmmmmm...

I haven't been to Hawaii. My current fav is Laguna beach Resort, Utila,Honduras. I'm going back for the 3rd year in a row in April. The diving is easy. The resort staff are terrific and there's a chance of seeing the big guys (whale sharks especially). We just missd the whale sharks the last two years. Last year we were in the water with pilot whales and a pod of about 50 dolphins. We also saw 6 seahorses and tons of reef squid, among all the other cool critters. emoticon
