I have my treadmill set up so I can use it and watch tv but I fear the couch get used more. Today I have to go to the mall so I plan on doing a lap or two.

Glad this week is almost over-1 hour to go and its the weekend! I have been watching Downton Abbey Sesions 1-4 and I should be watching and using my stepper or something instead I'm just sitting on the couch! Someone kick me please!

I have been walking the dog but not much else. I need to get back into my Zumba DVD's and work my way back to completing the 45 minutes-right now I'm not sure I could. Have you done some exercise since the 15th? What is your weather like up there right now?

Very smart Neraus! I too am starting from scratch which is sad when I think how I had built up my fitness before, but at least we have acknowledged the issue and we are trying to get back in the habit-that's important!

I need to ramp up my exercise now that I'm use to the 20 minute walks with the dog (we have lots of hills in my neighborhood and I am gauging my improvement by how out of breath I get at the top of the big hill). :) I use to get through 1 hour step/body sculpt classes and now I am struggling with 20 minute walks! But think how sweet it will be when I say I did a 1 hour class (or now a 1 hour DVD).

Take care and have a great day!

I do use my treadmill but just started again after about a year of no exercise. So far I do two days on the treadmill for about 30 minutes. Not a lot but I am way out of shape and afraid to do too much too soon.

Oh yikes-your kidding me, that is not your average cold! Are you still using your treadmill?
I am also doing a plank 30 day challenge my daughter put me onto and I'm up to 45 seconds and by the end its like a 4 minute hold-can't imagine making it that long as the 45 seconds I'm shaking :)

Well I give her 3 stops and pick up the poo then I just keep a firm grip on the leash and make her keep up! :) Today we walked for 30 minutes and I need to start adding in my Zumba DVD's next week. Have a great week!

I use to have a dog that liked walks but he kept stopping to sniff stuff that I couldn't use those walks as exercise. I don't know where my spark went but I can't find it anywhere lately. LOL!!!

Sounds like we are much in the same boat Neraus! I recieved some new workout gear at Christmas and intend on using it. We have a Siberian Husky now who loves walks so I'm trying to go a little further with her each week. And my daughter has me doing a plank challenge as well-by the end of January they have us holding in plank for 2 minutes!! We shall see how that works out! LOL

I have been trying to use the treadmill twice a week. I really haven't been exercising for about the last year. I bought some new purple work out shoes hoping my favorite color motivates me.

Happy 2015 to both of you!! I have stated my starting weight on the weekly weigh in page and will be posting there weekly to be accountable for my progress or lack of progress-either way its good to see the numbers in writting. What is everyone doing for exercise as the weather is so cold outside? I have been doing 2/10 minute office walks combined with the toning moves I do in my office (door closed of course) :) Then when I get home I bundle up and walk my Siberian Huskie-depending on how cold it is changes the walk time-usually 15 to 30 minutes. As I lose weight and gain some fitness I will add in a few running segments or HIT phases to up the intensity. Once the gym madness ends I'm also considering joining the local YMCA to take 3 classes each week as I love the motivation and the 1 hour workout I get there-following the instructor keeps me going longer then I will keep myself going :)

Happy New Year. Just off to hang out with friends. Kind of cold here. I am still working in the office and with the winters we have had lately glad to be inside.

Neraus-so good to "see" you!! I have really missed chatting with others who know not only the battles with weight but with age as well. At this stage in our lives there is so much going on besides the scale-kids growing up and moving out, getting married, jobs changing, moves etc... I hope you are well and when last I heard from you, you had recently left being a crossing guard and moved into an office job-how is that going? I am living in San Antonio now and have a great job in HR with an oil company and the benefits are great but the work is intense! Can't wait to hear from you! - Kerrie

Man I second the notion of it all coming back on the belly. Makes it hard to buy clothes when your body is three different sizes all at the same time. LOL!!!

Wow-been way to long since anyone has been to post on this page and at one point we were all so good about it! I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I am thankful for so much in my life including my health which I have been taking for granted for far too long. I go up and down the same 20 lbs year in and year out and as they say the older we get the harder it is to lose and the easier it is to gain (and the gain seems to be more and more belly) YUCK. So time to stop looking for something to inspire me and instead inspire myself and take steps each day to do better-when I have a set back I'm going to forgive myself and do better the next day-shoot even the next hour!! Hope someone pops in here and see's this, would love to reconnect with some of the old gang :)

I am still working full time and have let my weight slide back up to almost 200. Just don't seem to have the same drive for exercise and healthy eating as I use to. Sorry to hear about your dad. That is a tough thing to live through. I did join a gym so I would have use of the pool but having a hard time getting there more than once a week. So 2x a week to the gym is my new health goal.

Well - yesterday was first time I logged back into SP in probably 2 years. I poked around a bit, and today I even have been tracking my food. I was hoping to find some of this group still around!
Update on me... in some ways, not a lot has changed. I am at my same job, but increased my hours up to full time, and also started working at the office again instead of working from home. That is a mixed blessing... definitely harder to snack at random times, but we do have a full service cafeteria in the building, and so I eat bigger lunches sometimes than I should. Thank goodness for the salad bar, though!
Hubby is good, kids are good, all in high school now, and oldest can drive.
Stressful couple of years, after my mom passed away in 2009, my dad's health declined startlingly quickly. We moved him from independent living, to assisted living, to full time care, and he passed away this past March. Between that and the added stress at work, I definitely neglected myself, but now I am hoping to get back on track.
So, that's it - wanted to say hi to you all, if anyone is still reading this board. You guys were fun, encouraging, and inspiring to me my last time around. I hope you and your families are all doing well!
