I'm a bit late to this conversation but had to mention that I get my NS meals through EBay. I don't "win" every auction but only bid on things I like and never pay more than $2.00 per meal (including shipping).
I love the idea of making your own recipes using NS cups of pasta/etc. and will search the team for more of those!

Thank you for the replies. And the idea for the casserole is a great idea. I think that is my problem, I am not adding enough food with the Nutrisystem meals and getting enough variety. I ordered mine from QVC, so they were chosen for me. I love the pizza and the pastas, too. I must say the food is very tasty. I need to go on the site and see what they have. It sure has been handy being able to grab something and it already be prepared.
I wouldn't ry it on your own just yet. As for the bars, they're not my choice for lunch but they are good to have around in case you go out for lunch. Then you can have a salad with a protein then eat the bar as a lunch "dessert". I do that whenever I go out for lunch. I customize my orders on the NS site. It's easy and you can pick exactly what you want.
You also can use the foods as ingredients to make different entrees. For example, one of my favorites is to use the three cheese chicken and pasta cup to make an awesome casserloe type thing. I add 3/4 cup boiling water to the cup, cover it and let it sit while I put 3 oz frozen cooked chicken breast (lunch Powerfuel) into a saucepan. I add at least a cu of Great Value asparagus stir fry (you could use any frozen non starchy veg), some herbs (I use thyme) then cook until hey are no longer frozen. Stir the NS cup, add it and cook a few more minutes. It is so good!

Hi! I am new to nutrisystem myself. I am doing it for at least 3 months. I have lost 11 lbs. in January. I am looking for at least 8 in Feb. I need a good jump start since I am 53. I get to pick out my own food. I made sure to just get 2 bars in case I need something on the go. I picked like 5 turkey pep. Pizzas cause they are my fav. I edit my order all the time. Good luck! Hi, just discovered there is a Nutrisystem Team on Sparkpeople. Wish I had looked earlier. I just ordered the Nutrisystem 28 day week-ends off program in January as a jump start to a healthy eating/weight loss program. I thought it would be a good way to get me started by having the correct food on hand. With my husband's work schedule there are many days that I have to prepare just for myself, and I always found myself going through a drive-thru some place and ending up with an order of fries and a burger because I did not have anything in the house to eat that was healthy. I have been exercising, too, and my clothes are definitely showing a loss. I refused to weigh, because the scale was another roadblock for me in the past----but won't go into that here. Anyway, I now have to decide whether to order for another month or try it on my own. I am leaning towards trying it on my own, but will wait until I read opinions from this team to make my final decision. I love most of the food, but there were a lot of "bars" in my order and sometimes just having a bar for lunch does not do it for me. Anyway, I look forward to hearing about your success on the plan, or hearing if the plan did not work for you and why. Thanks for any input.
