Hi, Gravel! Welcome to the team.

I've also tried a lot of other things to lose this regain. I'd get frustrated and end up switching plans, which doesn't work for me. Eventually I'll use real actual foods and not the NS entrees, but the plan works if you work it and it's easy. I'm glad you're having success with it!

Hi all:

New to the board and checking in. Started Nutrisystem in November(ish) and have lost 17 lbs and 2 sizes so far. Goal is another 70 so I'm in for a long haul. Liking the program and the simplicity of food planning and prep (as in: there is very little). I like most of the food and am getting used to the portion size.

Though the weight loss hasn't been fast, the fact that I'm making an inroad is huge. I spent January to September of 2016 in an intense quest to lose weight, working out with an expensive trainer and 5-6 days at the gym. I started at 256 and lost only 9 lbs the entire time -- beyond frustrating. I followed her high protein plan and virtually nothing came off! Have 2 friends who had a lot of success on Nutrisystem and so I thought I'd give it a go. So any weight loss greater than a pound a month is a success for me.

Hi, AKDOODLES! We're glad you're here!

I also will switch to a more whole foods way of eating, but not for about 50 pounds.

NS doesn't have any more preservatives than most other foods. There aren't chemicals in it to keep it from spoiling like I've seen mentioned elsewhere. The food is soft-canned. I got to goal in 2011 or so and all my bloodwork was normal, so I"m not worried about any health implications from NS. I AM worried about health implications form being overweight, though!

Hello!

I have been in Nutrisystem for 6 weeks now and lost 20lbs. I'm thrilled! I'm already feeling better in my joints and energy! I am losing 150lbs total.

I've heard some people trash Nutrisystem for being processed. I get that and prefer healthy eating but honestly I don't have time to cook right now and it helps teach me to how often and how much to eat. I am a former athlete so I need to learn these things!

I have been slowly replacing some snacks like buying Popped rice snacks and dividing them into sandwich size ziplocks.

The goal is eventually, after some other things in my life calm down I will slowly replace Nutrisystem with food I cook. It will be months from now though.

I bought the serving size plate. I can see it will be a big help.

But anyway, here I am and super happy!

Hi my name is Kathleen. I have been trying to loose the same 70 pounds for years now! I saw Nutrisystem on QVC and decided to try it again! I say again as I had ordered it once and all the goodies were melted so I did my best with it and then cancelled my orders going forward.. I really did not loose any weight with my first attempt. But since I am the same weight I started last year I am dedicating 2017 to me!
I had a little health scare after thanksgiving--massive migraine and called 911 --knocked out for 2 days and released! lots of tests--but no stroke or heart problem SO I am good to go!

I should be receiving my package of food soon--so I wanted to get to know some of you who are succeeding on the plan. I am 5'1'' and weigh about 180 pounds now.. I have to get to 158 to get out of the obese category! And my Doctor wants me to loose 20 pounds by my April Appointment!

Any advise will be well received! emoticon Kathleen

Hi, I am doing Nutrisystem and really need to focus on my goals and eating. I am going on my 3rd month and stuck at 14 lbs. I feel in control but need to see the scale move downwards. My new month of food will arrive next week. I am really looking forward to dropping some more weight. The jeans are getting looser.

BUSYBEE - hang in there with the Turbo 10. It's hard but worth it I think. It kind of starts you off with a clean slate AND really makes you appreciate those extra calories when you get through it. Great idea of walking after dinner to avoid temptation. I know the smell of bacon makes me drool! Let us know how it's going - you're not alone it in this.

Hello everyone! I am on day 3 of NS with Turbo10. Calorie deficit is a struggle but the shakes seem to help. Last night was difficult..I was starving...and while I ate my quite delicious but small meal, my husband decided to make bacon with his dinner and then have some ice cream. With no support there I am now motivated to start taking walks after my dinner to avoid the temptations. Fingers crossed!

HI, just found this team. I am doing Nurtisytems with just buying the a la carte way. I don't like all their food although that is just not how I eat. I get the breakfast, lunch bars and snacks. I have lost 10 lb since Feb. I am happy with that.

I live in Florence OR, Don and I have been married 52.5 years, we have 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We both retired early and have loved it. I am busy with church, Bible study leader and red hat society.

I am finally back to Spark after a year long hiatus... and thirty extra pounds in addition to my already high weight. I now have to lose 90 pounds for my body to be healthy as well as to get a surgery that I need desperately (have to get to a max of 160 to get it).

I am on my 10th day of the program and have already lost 7 pounds. I also have bipolar disorder and I am on the manic side of things right now so eating more than 1000 calories is very difficult, let alone getting in my veggies (thank goodness for V-8 and bloody mary mix).

I lost weight previously just with SparkPeople--over 50 pounds in fact. This time I am having trouble sticking to any sort of diet so I figured that if I am paying for it I will stick to it. So far, so good. I also know how to eat and portion my foods thanks to my previous trip on Spark, so eating out has not been a problem with Nutrisystem (though I have been cheating by using their eating out guide). Already eaten out three times, with twice in one day. Here is hoping that my estimations are still on par with sizes (decks of cards, baseballs, golf balls and things like that). I use a food scale when I am at home.

I travel a lot, so this is going to be an adventure. This whole thing is going to be an adventure.

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa.. I just ordered my Nutrisystem food and I'm excited to get started! I'll be doing the Uniquely Yours program. I have severe arthritis in my knees and I know weight loss will help a lot. I'm only 49 but I feel like I'm 100 when I walk. I'm hoping to lose about 90-100 pounds on this program. emoticon

Wow! Thanks Emily! That's a great idea about the meatloaf. I do keep some batches of things in the freezer like chili and such but meatloaf is one of those comfort foods I feel I have to finish off if any left. lol

Hi, Julie!

I also have a husband and a 13 year old daughter that I cook for. I try to do batch cooking, making enough of some things to make another meal for them. That way, I'm not cooking every day. Meatloaf made in muffin pans and meat sauce for pasta are 2 things I try to keep in the freezer. We make fish once or twice a week and taco meat from ground turkey once. The fish and taco meat make a healthy powerfuel or flex dinner for me as well.

The convenience of NS is such a strong factor for me. Give it 28 days, no cheating, and you will be amazed at your progress!

Welcome to the team!

Hi, I'm Julie. I'm new to NS but not SP. I live in Alabama and will have been married 25 years next month and have two boys, well, young men 21 and 17. :) I'm the only person in my home that needs to lose weight. It is difficult to cook for me and my family because they don't care for the "healthy" food (brown rice, quinoa, spaghetti squash). While thinking of joining NS my friend says, "You still need to cook for your family". So I think Yes, I cook for my family and heat up my food. Really not much different from what I do now. Except the fact I don't have to think about it. THAT in itself means everything. I can hardly wait for my meals to arrive. So glad this team is here. Looking forward to my new journey.

Welcome, Jo!

It is a challenge to cook for others and not eat. I chew gum or keep cut up veggies beside the stove so I have something to keep my mouth full.

You sure sound busy! Be sure to pop on here and ask if you have any questions!

After trying many diet plans where I shop and cook for myself, I am not able to lose weight. Since starting a new medication last Fall, I have gained 10 more lbs and can't seem to get the scale to budge. I am hoping that NS is my answer. I start tomorrow on the Weekends Your Way plan. I am excited and hopeful! I am a very busy mom of 5 kids ranging from 4 yrs to (almost) 18 years old. The challenge will be cooking for them, but eating my NS meals.

Hi, Rachel! emoticon to the team!

I will say that Nutrisystem works well if you follow the plan. The plan includes all the meals you are eat as well as the Smartcarbs and Powerfuels your plan requires, and the minimum 4 veggies a day. You can easily make your goal is you just do those things.

When your box comes be sure to read the information in the box. If you have any questions, ask away here. I check in every day.

Hey everyone! My name is Rachel and I'm from Massachusetts. Two years ago I was in the best shape of my life but after moving quite a bit, I gained 30 pounds. I'm 18 years old, 5'0 and I currently weigh 132 pounds. My goal is to lose 20-30 pounds by the time I start college this fall! I wish you all the best of luck :)

Hi everyone,

I just came back on and hope we are still active, I have been on and off Nutrisystems since July- 2015. I am now back on and staying on this time. No weight gain however no big loss either. Just bought a new freezer to help me sort out my food. The program is so easy - I just seem to make it difficult. I will be sharing more with you. Will "talk" soon. Molly

Welcome, Valerie!

Your son has done very well. I agree the plan is carby, more so than I "normally" eat, but I lost 100 pounds on it and kept it off for a few years. I gained about half back just like you did.

I would say check with your doctor.

Heartburn, not sure what to say about that. Mine went away when I started the plan. I do take 2 kinds of otc heartburn meds for gerd. Didn't even know I had that!

I post every day in the monthly check in thread. Feel free to pop in there!

Hi everyone!
I'm Valerie, and today is day 2 for me. My 19-year old son started NS at the end of April and has lost 48 pounds so I decided to join him. Of course, that means my husband is on his own regarding food for now.

I'm a type 1 diabetic, so that makes it really hard to lose weight (insulin is a fat-storing hormone). I'm a bit concerned with how many carbs are on this plan but was looking for something structured and effortless.

My only complaint so far is that I've got heartburn! First time I've had it since my last pregnancy 19 years ago so I know it has to be related to the food. Will wait and see if it clears up as I become accustomed to the food.

I'm a fused glass artist and instructor in Northern California, married to my best friend, and enjoying my life. Recent knee issues have convinced me that it's time to get serious about weight loss for the last time. I lost 60 pounds on Medifast a few years ago but gained about 30 back.

I'm hoping this forum is active and lively!

Hi, I completed a five day juice fast and am following that with a Nutrisystem Jumpstart 5 day kit (purchased at Walmart.com). I've never been on NS and I have to say I am surprised that the food is actually good.

I had the flatbread pizza tonight and ate it with a knife and fork to make it last longer and to take longer to eat. I am on day three. The meals are all good, what I don't like is the over abundance of chocolate items ... I know, but I don't like chocolate. I'm following the instructions and will weigh in on Wednesday and see what the Jumpstart Kit accomplished along with my grocery items. I do like the shakes that came with it - very good.

It really is all about portion control isn't it? Of course, we all know that, but don't do it. I have to chuckle at folks who complain about the tiny size of meals, snacks, etc. well how do they think we got into this mess by eating LARGE portions, extra helpings, etc. Following this system is really a no brainer, everything is spelled out for us, very simple.

If I decide to do a two or three month program direct from NS I will do a Core program where I can pick my own meals. I looked at the QVC options, but same thing tons of chocolate items in the kits. QVC does let you order just dinners, lunches, etc. or all vegetarian options. Slow shipping as with NS site 7-10 days really? Do they tie these boxes on turtles?

HI, everyone!

My name is Emily. I used Nutrisystem to lose 100 pounds a few years ago and vowed I'd never leave. I did leave and I've gained over half of that back. I had to buy pants in the women's section of Macy's yesterday and it made me sad. I actually started back with the program yesterday using some food I still have around, and placed an autodelivery order last night. Nutrisystem works, and I want to be back on my size 12's, not the 18W pants I had to buy last night!

I teach 2nd grade in Houston, TX. Today is the first day of school for us, in fact. I'm married for 18 years this October and our DD will turn 13 Friday. I'm 52 and am eligible to retire after this school year, which seems odd. I don't know that I actually will, but it might be nice to know I CAN, lol!

I'm originally from Indiana, between Terre Haute and Vincennes. I went to Indiana University and we just took a road trip there this past summer. My DD is positive she wants to go to IU, but we'll see what she says when she's closer to going!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys!

Jessie, you haven't checked in since you opened your box and said this will never do. Did it do? Hopefully you found some goodies in there. Let us know!

Twin moms, hope your order arrived today. Are you starting on the Fast Five? You can expect to be a little hungry at first, so have plenty of veggies around. Slice and microwave a summer squash and spice it up, or steam cauliflower and mosh it up with an NS entree.

From your name I'm thinking you have two, sets of twins plus a single? Wow!

Have fun going through all your NS yummies! And keep us posted please.

My name is Gloria and I am 69 yrs. young. I have always had a weight problem and had some success with other weight loss plans, but nothing lasting more than a few months. After my weight hit my all time high, I decided to give Nutrisystem a try. Am loving it so far!

I'm 44, mom of 5 in Northern NJ. First time trying Nutrisystem, I should be getting my food tomorrow. I'm excited & nervous at the same time, I'm so afraid I'll be too hungry & go off track. I'll be hitting the store later to load up on veggies!

I decided on the spur of the moment, totally uninspired as to what to buy to eat this week, to try the Nutrisystem 5-Day kit from Walmart. I bought the Type II Diabetes kit as I've been having some issues with my blood sugar and carbs. Since I wasn't in a shopping frame of mind, I bought only the fresh groceries on the list for the next day or two ~ some salady bits and yogurt mostly.

Completed my first full day on Tuesday, August 4.

Thoughts on opening box: "Oh. This will never do."

Hi NS ladies! Hope you are all doing well. This is my first time on NS even tho,I've tried every other diet on earth! They mostly all worked, and I mostly kept it all off, even tho I haven't gone below the 170's for years. At one time i weighed about 60 pounds more. I do get diet fatigue, so I decided to,try NS which is a whole new way of eating. It's working, and I've lost 11pounds so,far. It really is filling and pretty satisfying. Sometimes when I need a nudge I'll just have protein without adding pasta or bread for a meal and make sure I have extra protein in shakes, etc. Any tips or favorite foods? I think the sloppy Joe mix is being replaced with shredded BBQ chicken. They're both great on top of julienne cut green beans instead of bread.

Hope to read more posts!

Hi everyone,

I just started the program on July 1st. I've struggled with my weight since I was 11. I've tried pretty much every plan out there and have been successful many times but have never been able to keep it off.

I did Nutrisystem about 23 years ago when we had to go to a class every week before we would be given our food. I have to say that the food and variety is a lot better now.

I'm 51 and have about 40lbs to lose. I'm looking for support and information from you more experienced members. So far, so good! Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

Karen emoticon

Hi Work, So you must be on day 2 of your new Nutrisystem commitment! How is it going? Are you on the Fast 5, or the regular core package? What was your favorite NS thing you were looking forward to having? Will it be difficult making it through the holiday? My hub was eating all my chocolate muffins ``` talked him into the NUMI balance plan`` $99 a month for breakfasts, lunches and snacks enough for weekdays for a month. His order arrived today, and there are muffins I can steal back!

Lets stay in touch. Linda

Good Evening Everyone,
I will be restarting Nutrisystem tomorrow. I have made a commitment to give myself 2 months on the plan (with no excuses) then go from there. I know NS works; I just have to be consistent. I would like to get rid of at least 30-35 lbs; to be at the high end of a normal BMI....I not looking to be skinny, just want to be healthy, and to feel good in my own skin.

Looking forward to being apart of this group again.

Have a wonderful evening everyone emoticon

Just made the switch back over to SparkPeople because of all the changes on the NS site - losing all the community features. I will only be using NuMi to track weight to get my Bears. Otherwise, I will be blogging and tracking here.

Been on NS since 2/21 - I have lost 17 pounds so far. Had a bad week this past week, didn't stick to the diet at all, but it was finals week and food is my vice. Now that the semester is over, I'm back to the plan!

When you get settled it would be great if you would share your store. Once you get comfortable.

Hello, I am new here as well, I just placed my order.
I used to run and be very active, and since the kids were born I've really slowed down. I need to lose about 50 lbs to get my asthma and joint issues better under control. I'd like to do it before my next birthday in September and maybe run that full marathon I've been dreaming of!. I have trouble with portion control, so I thought this program would be easier for me.

Melissa, I'm glad you're here.

How are you doing with the plan so far? If you haven't yet ordered your program from Nutrisystem Sparkmail me with the email you use on their site and I can get you a Buddy Buck, which is $30 off your first (or 2nd, I think) order.

The most important piece of advice I think I can give is to forgive yourself if you go off plan and get right back on immediately.

Also, eat all your add ins.

Sparkmail me if you have any questions!

I have such a hard time with portion control. Recently, someone I love very much told me I was over weight in a very demeaning way. This sparked a desire to change in me like none other.

I compared several plans and decided to go with Nutrisystem. I bought the starter kit at Sams and will be ordering my first month today.

I need to lose 50ish pounds. One for my health. Two, we are going to Hawaii in May, for my 45th birthday and I want to not be self conscious. emoticon

Hello Everyone,

I just joined this team, but don't see a lot of activity here. Where is everyone? Maybe you've met your goals and moved on.

Wondering if anyone has heard of Nutrisystem's Simply Fresh Program, if you've tried it, and what you think????
