I wondered for a minute what you were asking when you said "how I can be part of an actual team" but decided you must be looking for a weight-loss challenge similar to the show. If that's correct, here are some suggestions: 1. There is an ongoing Biggest Loser 12-Week Challenge, now in the middle of the Winter Challenge. They are a closed team but you can get your name on the waiting list for the Spring Challenge at www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_i nd ividual.asp?gid=50602 2. That's a long wait at this point so for something quicker, click on the COMMUNITY tab at the top of the SparkPage, then choose Challenge Central, there are a lot of different types of challenges going on all the time.
We also have weekly weigh-in challenges on this team so it just depends on what you're looking for - if this is not what you meant by being part of an actual team, please post a little different description so we know how to help you.

Welcome to Sparkpeople. Be sure to take advantage of all the great free online sources available here, such as the nutrition and fitness trackers. Also, the online community is great. We are all here to offer support when you need it, or celebrate your successes with you.

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.
This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

I find the nutrition and fitness trackers extremely helpful. I have been tracking my food and exercise daily since I started Sparkpeople in 2008. If they ever take this site down I will probably gain my weight back. I have kept it off for 5 years.

I am still navigating through SP site. I was encouraged by this forum even though I haven't really watched the actual TV show. I was hoping to gain some support and inspiration through this group as I am constantly challenged by what my physical side is doing and what my mental side wants to do! LOL Looking forward to hearing more as to how I can be part of an actualk team?? I don't know the protocol.
