Hi - I'm Kathleen and I've been on the Seattle Sutton meal plan for two weeks. Have already lost 6 pounds, so I'm very excited! The food is delicious, portion controlled, well-balanced, and low in sodium, which has been an issue for me. I'm also really enjoying the variety of foods - their menus don't repeat any meals for 5 weeks. I'm single and there's no way I would bother to make such a variety of food for myself. I'll be interested so see how others are doing on their meal plans.

Hi - I'm probably going to be a bit of a lurker but I joined so I can see how the meal plans are going for you. I tried Nutrisystem before and it definitely worked but it was way too much sodium for me (I heard it has been somewhat revamped since then).

I am in Northern California and tried Fresh Diet and the concept was awesome, but it seemed like they were having growing pains - lots of inconsistent portion sizes, delivery problems, etc. In some locations it is stellar and in others it's a bit sketchy. Since the food was coming all the way from LA (about 500 miles) it seemed like that might be part of the problem. But I hope they eventually get it together because the concept and the food, on the days it came correctly, was fresh and nice. The biggest downside was that they never provided any nutritional information, so it was hard to pick which items had less sodium, etc. I heard they will eventually fix that so don't think this is a big putdown of it, just didn't work in this locale.

So I am curious about Bistro, DietToGo, etc. I really liked the idea of fresh not frozen or shelf food. They are expensive but I'm hoping there are sales or Groupons, etc. that might make it reasonable.

Thanks for letting me lurk!

Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.

Hi,

My name is Stephanie and I just found this team and joined today. I will be starting the NutriSystem program soon. I received an email notice this morning letting me know that my order was shipped. I can not honestly say that I am super excited but know that I definitely need to make a change in the way I eat and live.

Congratulations to all of you for making changes for your betterment!

Marie, I talked about the food that they shipped me in another post in this group, so I won't repeat it now. I do eat fish sometimes (not all that often), and the meals they sent me had many fish entrees. The lack of many vegetarian meals with Nutrisystem is a large part of why I didn't try that program. I didn't want to eat packaged foods or have to get frozen foods, if I didn't have to. But, it was important to me not to be stuck eating mostly pasta dishes each night, since I want to lose weight. I LOVE pasta, but just didn't want to be button-holed with so few choices. Jenny Craig seems even worse for vegetarians than Nutrisystem! That is shocking that NS would not let you switch from vegetarian to meat entrees. They should be more flexible.

Oooh, Freshology. That's the one I really wanted to do when I picked a delivery plan, but went for a less expensive option. Do tell us all about the food and what it's like! I pictured that one really feeling like you had a personal chef. And I'd be particularly interested in how it is for vegetarians. Years ago, I did NutriSystem veg and really got bored because it was a pretty small subset of their food and they wouldn't let me switch to getting meat in my plan. I prefer vegetarian options when possible, but am not hard core about it anymore (I was very strict about 20 years ago).

Hi. Just found this team a moment ago. My name is Cathi. I'm 56 yrs. old. I have registered for Freshology Gold and they said I will get the box this Friday, with instructions to begin eating it on Sunday. I don't eat ANY meat or poultry (and haven't for more than 40 years), so I will get the vegetarian and fish meals. I didn't order it for anyone else in my family. I would like to drop 100 pounds to get back to where I was before pregnancy.

That makes sense. It is definitely a pain to fix multiple meals, so if you can make yours easy...as long as the delivery plan can meet your special dietary needs, that might help.

well, thats part of the issue for me, because I have special dietary needs and I can't eat their food, but they can eat mine. I just thought that it might be a good idea so that I wouldn't be cleaing house, and then its an hour after I should've already ate, and then I eat their bad food.

but i'm still doing research - I don't want to make any hasty decisions, so . . .

Welcome, Brenna! Have you looked at the reviews that are on our "links" tab on the front page of this team? There are a bunch of different plans to choose from, so you might see if there's something else that suits your needs. I, personally, really like having meals delivered to me so that I don't have to think about food. Do you have a plan for how you'll deal with hubby and kids' food? My DH just fixed his own meals, but we have no children so I didn't have to worry about cooking for anyone else--I'm afraid that would be terribly tempting for me.

I'm still looking into it. but I like the idea of someone else makin me food thats just right for me, with desserts, etc. that way I know the right portion, instead of goin back and forth from undereating to overeating, etc.

anyways.

Hi, my name is Cindy! I am trying to jump start my weight loss journey. I am on my first day of eDiets. I'm getting more nervous about eDiets because I am reading so many negative comments about the food.

I lost weight on both Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers but I also have gained back much of the weight. I got really, really sick of Jenny and I thought that because eDiets was "fresh," the food would be better.

I work full-time and I thought that meal delivery might be helpful because I'm so tired when I get home. I am also experiencing "empty-nest" syndrome (my 16 year old is very indenpendent now) and I want very much to get in shape so that I can re-enter the dating world. Talk about scary!

I look forward to learning about your programs!

Cindy

Hi, Amy! I'm glad you found Bistro MD. If you love good food, I think you'll find the meals on Bistro to be yummy and filling. I have really enjoyed the food and seldom become bored...although I did learn what meals I like best and what I like least. I have tried NutriSystem and eDiets delivery, and find BistroMD to offer many more meals that I positively love. Let us know how it goes for you!

Hi. My name is Amy and I have just signed up for Bistro MD. I am excited to try it, but also a little nervous. I decided to try a meal delivery system because I really need to jumpstart my healthy eating and have been struggling to do this on my own - making too many excuses, too many I'll start Monday's. In the past I had some success with Jenny Craig, but after a while I burned out on the food. My overall weight loss goal is pretty daunting, so I am just trying to focus on that first ten pounds right now and was glad to find this group for extra support.

Hi, Michelle! I'm on BistroMD, but I know that we've got some members on Seattle Sutton, too. I'd like to know more about their food. I realized last week that the "new" has worn off of Bistro for me, so I'm looking for excuses to eat other things. That might mean it's time to change things up a bit. Do tell us about it when you get your first shipment.

Welcome! I'm on BistroMD, too. I'm in my third or fourth week of it, and loving it. I just dropped the snacks; I've been getting migraines, and I think the high soy level of the snacks was contributing to it. I've been losing a steady 1.5-2.5 pounds a week, which is practically miraculous to me, because I was at a nearly year-long plateau (and then a gain) before I started delivery. I'm VERY happy with it.

Hi, Glad to have found this group. I am restarting Bistro MD... LOVE the food.. I lost 80+ on them and then went off due to a health issue and of course gained some back. So I am going back on the plan. Food should arrive this week.
One thing I notice when on their food I FELT so much better.. perhaps because of the balanced diet or just regular healthy low sodium nutritious food. What ever, it is the best meal delivery plan for me. and I have tired many of the others.
Looking forward to going through this weight loss with some like minded people. and hope we can share some good ideas' and encouragement as we move along.
I am getting lunches and dinners only.. I found that works the best for me. I like my breakfast choices vs so of the overly sweet breakfast items.

What are you all doing ??

I am going to get into shape and enjoy the journey along the way. -recipes.sparkpeople.com/cookbooks.a

Suzy, I just read your web page and your story is so like mine. There's just something about being in our 40's that makes it harder to lose. I've been on SP for over a year and lost 30 pounds, but then hit a plateau and lost momentum. I'm back up about 10 of those 30, but I think I've got my head back in the game now. I just can't keep myself at the 1200 calorie place where I have to be to lose anymore. I've also been crazy stressed at work lately, so I'm hoping that I can do this and avoid the temptation of stopping for drive through on the way home. Let's hope that Bistro MD does the trick for both of us!

Hi I am Suzy. I have been having a hard time sticking to any healthy eating plan and thought I would give a food delivery service a try. I work full time and just started two college course, so I think this will be pleasant to not have to think about cooking. I just started BistroMD yesterday.
