Hi PrincessV And a big welcome! This is a great site for support and help with your goals. Good going on taking yourself off morphine! That in itself is a great accomplishment. I do hope you can find an alternate way to control your pain and begin to exercise a bit. I'm a huge fan of exercise as it's helped me in so many ways. I look forward to following along with you on this journey to better health and less pain!

HI: I am new to sparks, this is my first day here. I have osteo almost everywhere. I also have four bulging discs in my back. I have just come off morphine, I was on it for a year and a half and decided to take myself off it. My doctor told me it was okay to go ahead, take it slow and I was able to get off it in 2 weeks. However, now we have a bit of a dilemma trying to figure out what to use for pain control. I have a really hard time walking very far as I have a lot of pain in my hip & in the syatica. Not easy and I sympathize greatly with anyone with arthritis. Right now I am feeling pretty good although I haven't take much exercise but I am hoping to join the pool for aqua size in December. Glad to find this Team.
That sounds scary.I hope I never have to, do that. Good Luck. I am sure you will keep us up dated.My husband's friend had that done a few years ago, he said it wasn't bad and he felt better than he had in years. I will keep you in my prayers and heart.
Good for you Carol. The exercise machines at Curves should help and yes you only have to do what is not painful so skipping a machine is OK if need be. I go to a similar womens fitness club - they have a personal fitness trainer now so I have been working with her once a week to get some strengthening in preparation for my total hip joint replacement which takes place in February. Walking doesn't work very well for me right now - hoping I'll get back into it regularly after the hip surgery recovery. Take care, MaryBeth

Thanks Beth,I joined curves I had many doubts about it at first.One of the ladies that works there told me I would be surpris e that it would help my arthritis and I didn't have to do anything that hurt me. It has helped my hands and back some, I guess it is what they need. I go walking but sometimes I have to cut it short because of the pain will shoot down my hip. Glad that I found this support group. I need all the help I can get.
