Glad to have you as part of this group. I was looking on UTube and found quite a few videos of yoga for arthritis. A lot of them has to do with your feet and it may be a good place to start. I have heard that a lot of your pain sensors are located in your feet and that if you have healthy feet that you will feel better. I am going to try a few of them myself, since a lot of my pain is located in my feet and hands. Hopefully, it will relieve some of the other pains that I have also.
This man is hard to understand, but I am going to give his way a try. I like the fact that he is slow and it is subtitled.
I too welcome you. And my doctor keeps telling me the same thing - exercise and lose weight. One thing he told me was to join a weight loss support group. I have Spark People but finally decided to join TOPS. This way I am actually with people every week and have to weigh in so I am accountable to myself and others. I am actually pleased with my progress now. It has been 2 years and a big struggle to just get to where I am today. Maybe my body just needed time to change all that fat to muscle from the exercise and now I am losing some more fat. I know my body shape has changed so I would just like to keep on encouraging you to press on in your efforts to lose weight. My right leg has a lot of pain because of hip and knee arthritis so the weight loss should help I hope.
Welcome to our team! I think I can say for all of us that we know ow you feel. I too have both knees with it and lower back and the c-spine on down is a mess. I too need to lose weight, maybe we can help each other!
Hi, I am new! I suffer from osteoarthritis in my knees, arthritis in my right hip and some degenerative problems in my lower back. I want to be able to do more than I can now. I have had surgery in my right knee, although they say I am too young for a total knee replacement just yet. I have taken the Synvisc injections, although they don't seem to help much if anything. The one thing my doctor says over and over again is to exercise and lose weight. I am hoping to be able to accomplish that along with this team. I have already lost 25 pounds and I work on my feet as a custodian, so I am not idle. It's hard to get motivated outside of my job to do any form of exercise. This looks like a team that may be able to help get me going in the right direction.
