I currently do a modified version of Sun Salutation. 2x through in the morning and 2x through in the evenings. Can't even hold all the poses a full 30 seconds; but every day I get stronger and feel better. 2x through only takes me 5 minutes each AM and PM. I can go longer but end up too tired and enjoy it less. So I stick with what makes me feel great. This team's goals of adding one pose at a time appeals to me. I'll incorporate each into my nightly practice. Gets me a little more in sync with others here. I like that! Thanks!

Hi. I'm not new to SP and typically try to squeeze in a quick workout at home in the mornings. I've been doing some basic yoga on most days and saw this team and thought it would be a great way to learn new poses and to challenge myself.

It's been a while since I joined this team, so I guess it's time I introduced myself.

I live in Oregon, where I was born and raised and have lived almost all of my life. I raise grass fed beef and supplement my income with photography and writing whenever I can find a paying gig. I also raise and train hunting dogs (current count is 7 dogs between the two of us) with my other half, Bruce. Also, I own 5 horses and Bruce owns 2.

I was diagnosed with severe sciatica as of August of 2012 and was told that I would probably never move freely and without pain again. Via my activities on SP, I was able to regain my health well enough that I could get around without much pain, but since I've been doing yoga the last couple of months I've been almost entirely pain-free. It is even clearing up my tricky knees and elbows and has begun to work some magic on the advanced carpal tunnel syndrome that has plagued me since I started a job working on a loading dock when I was 19, which was 37 years ago. NEVER saw that coming, not even as a wildly remote possibility.

At 56, I am determined to live well for as long as I've got left, and to be active and alert and limber as a teenager. Wish me luck! lol

My name is Michelle and I am from Orange County, California (south of L.A.). I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years but early last year I started actively using the site’s tools. I have been doing quite well in eating healthier foods but the physical activity has been my biggest challenge. I love Pilates (though I’ve been inconsistent with doing it) so I decided that I should give Yoga a try. One Minute Yoga sounds like my speed at the moment and I’m hoping it will get me started with increasing my workout time.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself my name is Jeanna I am 27 and I have been struggling with my weight my whole life. I will start to lose weight and do good then just lose the momentum and just stop and gain all the weight back. my highest weight to date is 330 lbs I am currently down to 290. So, I just made my SP account. I set up nutrition ranges, exercise plans, and joined some teams (like this awesome one lol). I've gone through the Getting Started stuff, and made up my mind to start small this time. I've tried losing weight many many many times. In fact, I've lost a lot. Problem is, life gets in the way, and I have an all-or-nothing mentality. So I can't go full-out and just say to h*** with it instead.

This time, I'm focused on little things. Baby steps, right?

Stopping in the say hi. I am new to the group but not to yoga. Last year I had a regular yoga "habit" and I am trying to get it back. I have been working on the 30 day yoga challenge but keep missing days so I though that only needing to commit to a minute a day might help me make sure to get some yoga in everyday.

My name is Kimberly, and I am looking at integrating Yoga into my routines. I feel incredibly shredded, and my Dr thought this would likely help not only a number of aches and pains, but my focus and calmness as well. I think starting with one move a day is a great start, although in some cases I may stick with, or go back to , the same move when I see positions that look like a little more than my stiff muscles are ready for.

I haven't been on here for a while. But came back here like it was an old friend! It has been a very tough week for me. I am basically hibernating for a few days. I need a break from my troubles. Wishing all a Happy Easter. And a happy spring!

I have been doing yoga off and on for the last 6 months. I really enjoy it, but hard to find classes that fit my schedule. Just started a Monday session. It is at my gym and I have time to get my workout in before yoga. I am going to be doing practice on my own other nights of the week.

Hi! I just stumbled on this team, I have tried yoga videos in the past and love it. I'm looking for ways to reduce stress and stay energized in 2013. I also need to work on flexibility and strength. One minute a day seems the perfect way to start.

Hi, my name is Lacresha and I am from TN. I joined this team to work on my strength training as well as my flexiblity. I have several yoga and pilates tapes but I have a hard time getting time to do them. I do cardio, jogging and running, but yoga is also important and I am hoping to fit it in my day and make improvements to my health. I joined yesterday and look forward to meeting everyone on this team and hearing their experiences and tips for success.

Hello! My name is Saadia and although I am not new to SparkPeople I am new to this team and yoga. I started doing T'ai Chi about a year ago and found it to be very relaxing. It helped with my stress alot. I heard about some of the benefits of yoga and started researching the benefits and different types of yoga practice. I'd like to practice yoga more often and I'd like to have it be a part of my daily routine. This team looked really cool, one yoga pose, one minute a day....I think I'm up to that challenge. I have to start somewhere!!!

I am new. I'm not ready to do an entire yoga sequence yet...so I will start with the 2011 August Yoga poses and do one a day for one minute.

Does that sound like a sane place to start?
