My husband (cekelso) and I have just completed our first day. SparkPeople is brand new to him, though I used the site for a few weeks a couple years ago. We are beginning the 17 Day Diet as we both seem to be carb sensitive, any grains or starchy vegetables stimulating our appetites, and this eating plan seems easier for him to follow and feel more-or-less satisfied with. As our kids are all grown now, it's easier for the two of us to eat the same foods, so sauce for the gander is sauce for the goose. :-)
Neither of us are habitually "joiners", but I'm encouraging him to make use of this support system. He's been seriously overweight all his adult life, and I've had a difficult time keeping extra pounds off while living with someone who enjoys eating so very, very much. Now we're heading toward retirement and it's literally now or never.
Right now I'm doing all the tracking for him as well as for myself, but I'm hoping he will grow comfortable with the site soon and be pleasantly sucked in when he discovers all the amenities offered that will help him toward his goal.
