Thank you for all the welcomes. And thank you for the advice on making sure I get the right kind of nutrients while going veggie! I seem to be doing ok, still more carbs than what I want but still with in my ranger for the day, just at the higher end, and still a little low on protein but I am finding ways around that. I am also trying to go as organic as possible so that seems to be helping since I am eating way more fruit and veggies than I have before, heck one piece of fruit a day is more, even 1 piece of fruit in a week is more than what I have done in the last year!

I will be embracing my inner Weeble and will not fall down, but just roll back up and keep on going!!

Congrats on your 5 lb loss so far! Keep focused slow and steady til you reach your goals. Going vegetarian can be very healthy as long as you are filling in your food tracker daily to make sure you are getting enough nutrients across the board. You may need a B12 supplement if you do not eat any animal products. Check you Vitamin D levels with your doctor also. Limit your white flour products, healthier and more weight loss with other whole grains. Do your research as this is a major change for you and vegetarians can still be overweight! I am sure you will do well and feel and look great!
Cheers
Allie

Welcome to SparkPeople and welcome to Your Class Team! I joined in 2006 and came back in 2008 to work the Spark Program!

You can do it! SparkPeople works!

My favorite tool is the Nutrition Tracker:

- if you bite it, you write it. From the day I started logging all my foods, I also started losing all my weight!

Walking is still my main form of exercise!

Hugs,
Linda

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. Agatha Christie

Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself. I am Jenni, 34, married almost 10 years now and mom of 2! I have also just recently made a lifestyle change to be a vegetarian as well as decided to live healthier and to get in to shape. I want to look like I did when my husband and I met 10 years ago ( yes we dated for 2 months then got married ) Our anniversary is in May and while I don't expect to have all 50 pounds gone then I do hope to have half of it gone! I am also looking for a buddy or more, lol, to go through this with and I don't care if you eat meat or not, if you can help me and I can help you that doesn't matter, my hubby isn't giving up meat and I am still gonna keep him around emoticon

I will be embracing my inner Weeble and will not fall down, but just roll back up and keep on going!!
