Hi Everyone!!! It's a chilly day here in Brisbane, Australia and I am back on spark for the first time in many many months!!! I am looking forward to getting to know you all on your journey and getting support from you as well as I start mine.

I first started on spark in January 2010 and had great success but alas, did not reach my ultimate goal (only a few kilos off) and I lost my mojo and got complacent. I came back at the end of last year for a time but I just didn't stick with things. I have a bunch of annoying health issues which get in the way but I am determined to focus and achieve my goals this time! I've just written a new blog entry giving the run down if you want to have a read :)

I braved the scales this morning and was shocked and not shocked at the same time. :) My body has been telling me in so many different ways that it has not been happy with its expanding size and finally, my brain has caught up!!

So here I am DAY ONE. Just about to go out for a baby shower morning tea for my sister in law.... the first test!! hehe.

let's keep in touch!

Annie :)

Hi Belinda--losing 48 pounds is an outstanding accomplishment! You should feel very proud of yourself for that!!!!

Since you know you can lose 48 pounds now, then you can face the rest with confidence. The rest of the weight will soon be history, too!!

Hi! I have been active on SP since our first week here. I have lost 19 lbs this year and would like to lose another 15. I am at a frustrating plateau right now and haven't been able to shake it for months.

I am in week 6 of c25k.

I have been using SP in a bubble and have only just recently reached out to the supportive SP community. It feels good to not do this alone.

Hi. I actually have only been on spark for about a month, but I started my weight loss at the beginning of the year so I felt it was more appropriate to joint his group.

Hello I'm Becky from Michigan. I joined in January and am doing Herbalife and Sparks combined. I've only lost 14 pounds but the clothes are fitting better. This is the first team I have joined and the very first message. Not ever sure what to write. I have 6 kids and 3 grandkids. I can't wait for spring to get here so we can all go for bike rides and walks. Sparks seems to help me stay on track because I have to log in everything I eat and it tells me how I have done today.

Hello Team members,
I am Molly Jackson from Portland Oregon. I have been around since January. Still trying to touch bases with my Spark teams. I am a Veterinarian technician, a home owner,a animal lover and a wantobe gardner. I am still trying to clean up the winter mess that I have. I am on Nutrisystems and bounce back and forth between SP and NS. I seem to be spending a lot more time here.

Nice to meet you all.

Hi everyone! My name is Kristen, and I've been a little slow to start using the community aspects of SP. I LOVE tracking my meals, and based on these first six weeks, I really think Sparkpeople is going to be the key to reaching my goal. I live near St. Louis and am a high school teacher. My husband is also on SP, and I'm currently training for a half-marathon. I look forward to being a part of this group!

Hi,
Just started SP this past week. First time in the message boards. I'm 29 will be 30 in March and found myself 20 pounds over the weight I want to be. It just got away from me. I got married and happy. I was still fitting into my jeans somehow so I was ok right? NO!!! It was terrible when I stepped on the scale and saw that I was 20 pounds heavier than I was when I met my future husband. Wow!!! I've always had to watch my weight, it's just something the women in my family have to do. But WOW I got to do something now!

On think I noticed in your post that may be slowing your weight loss is that you are eating so far under your suggested amount and exercising a lot. Our bodies go into starvation mode when this happens and slows down our metabolism to conserve calories. I'm pretty sure that if you eat all the the recommended calories you will actually lose a lot better. This happened to me too, and while I thought I was giving my body an extra weight loss boost, I was actually keeping myself from losing. Give it a try...I'm pretty sure you'll see a bigger loss if you do!

Hello Everyone,

I was in this team when I joined last month and must have deleted it along the way because I just realised I didn't have a "Class of" team. So I'm rejoining. I've been using SP extensively since joining and I'm happy to report that I've lost 18 pounds so far.

Below is probably more than you want to know about me so read or ignore as you please. My husband says I never travel light, and I guess that includes my introduction letter. I'm very much looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you!

I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I've been married for 36 years to a great guy who's being so supportive of my weight loss and healthy living efforts. We have 4 children from 46 to 27. We have one daughter and 3 sons. Our daughter has given us 4 beautiful grandchildren, 2 girls and 2 boys. Of our sons, one is married, and so far no grandkids there.

I've lived in Michigan all my life. Born and raised in the lower peninsula along Lake Michigan. 13 years ago we moved to the Upper Peninsula and now live near Lake Superior. It's cold but beautiful up here.

We are Christians, and my husband is a maritime chaplain. I've been heavy all my life, but not like I am now. I have gone on so many diets and I always end up loosing 20 pounds, feel deprived, revolt and binge my way back up to my previous weight plus about 10 new pounds. Over the years I have gained over 100 pounds doing this.

I had a total knee replacement in March of 2009, and my knee became infected during surgery. The infection went into the bones around the artificial knee and I've had a very rough year while being treated for this. It was thought they would have to remove the metal knee or even remove the leg, but the many prayers I had helped me to heal slowly but surely. I'm still on antibiotic, but only until sometime in February; and the fear of more surgeries on that knee is gone. I'm having some trouble with my other knee as well and after the difficulties I just went through, I am determined to lose a significant amount of weight to make a possible left knee replacement much easier. So my goal, along with my doctor, is to lose 100 pounds by my birthday (12/21). I've had a good start, and my weigh in today says that I've now lost 18 pounds since the middle of December when I started changing my eating habits. This weight loss is due in large part to SP. I'm learning so much and I've joined a gym and am working out 6 days a week and eating correctly most of the time.

My husband and I are making up my eating plan and it's obviously working. I've learned so much from SP and I joined the group in the hopes of getting to know a few people here that I can help motivate and be motivated by in return.

I have 2 dogs, a 6-year-old golden retriever named Roxy and a 14-month-old labradoodle named Lucy. I'm looking forward to walking them when there is no more ice outside. I'm doing the treadmill in preparation for this. They are my "children" and keep me laughing. I also do cardio on the NuStep machine, strength training, and stretching.

I also like to read, spend time in nature in the good weather, make jewelry, and I'm about to start teaching English to some refugees living here from the Karen nation in Burma. They've been in my town for over a year and I've gotten to know several of them quite well. The adults have a language barrier and there are several volunteers who come in to teach. I'm looking forward to starting that now that my knee seems to be under control. I also take a quilting class and am in a beading group with my Native American friends in a reservation near here. I'm so glad to finally be able to walk well enough to get back out after all these months of recuperation and be with my friends again.

I'm SO looking forward to meeting some of you and getting to know you. I'd be happy to give encouragement and prayers wherever they are needed. Have a great week everyone and thanks for allowing me to join your group.

Best Regards, Ginny

Hi there! I'm Berna. I joined SP on Jan 9 or 10 and since this sight had the WAY cooler picture, I'm hoping you'll let me hang with y'all as I continue this journey.

Why I love this team is that it's a SUCCESS group - people focused forward, loving people for who they are right now and loving them too much to let them stay that way, always striving for a little better.

Hi! Joined Spark on 1/5, but am really slow to start--just got more active this week and the book arrived in mail a few days ago. Have started tracking food and exercise, though lost a day, and eating and exercise has been irregular, but I really am gonna take this a step at a time because, well, I need help and support with my eating habits. I am glad I am tracking my food because I get to see what I am really eating, even if I go over the calories, which have done all days but one. Have been exercising a little bit more than usual each day. So, I am hopeful and pray that Spark will be the solution that I am searching for. Thanks for listening.

Hi! I'm Brooke. I'm a 35-yr-old S.A.H.M. with 3 kids: 6, 3 and 8 months. I've been feeling fat or chubby for a good four years now and I'm tired of it. My motivation is to have my husband begging for my favors a few months from now. Ha ha ha! (no, really!)

hey everyone! i joined on the 3rd so this is about my 3rd week on spark. i really like it so far but need more support. ive been around 1200 cals, always under 1500 daily with 700 cals burned at the gym on cardio 4-7 times a week and no budge on the scale. conservatively, im about 800 in net calories... and i calculated that my daily needs are around 2000. that means im about 1200 deficit every day! so i should be losing a couple pounds every week right? i mean i know the math isn't a perfect science but cmon... lol

Hi everyone! My name is Brandy I started the Spark three weeks ago yesterday. Ding-dong me joined the SP Class of Jan 4-9, 2009 by accident thinking it was this team. emoticon I'm really enjoying my time here so far and I'm finding that tracking my foods and excercise is really helping me be accountable for my decisions.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and taking this journey with together!!

Hi! My name is Juleah and this is my 3rd week on SparkPeople. I'm still finding my way around, learning the ropes, and building my nutrition and fitness plans. I am a student, manager, and domestic goddess. I have a significant amount of weight to lose but I am focusing on small goals and small changes so that I'm not overwhelmed by this process. I've tried many diets over the last few years but this feels different to me (better). I'm looking forward to getting more involved in this process and getting to know more SparkPeople.
Best wishes,
Juleah in Federal Way, WA

Hey! I'm Kitty and, like a lot of you, I started Sparkpeople last week but am just learning the sight.
I'm one of those weird people who love to workout. I run a lot and have completed 2 half marathons. My problem is eating..or eating too much. I joined to try to track what and how I eat. I'm learning a lot and enjoying this "community". Good luck to all of you.

Hey guys and gals!
I joined Spark (AGAIN) during the first week of January, but this is the first week i've really been active, so i'm just getting around to my spark teams!
My name is Sammy. I'm 22 years old and i'm from Michigan, where it's currently Frrreeezzzziiinnngg! :))
I have been a member of sparkpeople before, and was successfull, but 2009 was not a fantastic year for me or my family, and I let life take control of my life and my body, so here I am again, almost back to where I originally started.
I have a totally positive outlook on it this time, and I'm ready to change my life, and to NOT diet. I need support, and i'm not afraid to admit it, so feel free to drop advice at any and all times! :)
I teach preschool, and run the after school program at the elementary school in my hometown. I am the oldest of 7, and my brother, Tom is currently serving in the Marine Corps and is in Afghanistan as we speak. He is coming home this spring, and getting married in the summer, so my first big goal is to look decent when i stand in his wedding. My family is very close, and some day, I would like to have my own family, but I can't do that until i'm healthy!
I'm very optimisitic, outgoing, and loud. I love football, have been in love with Brett Favre since I was 6 or 7, before he even started for the Packers! :)
I'm not your average girl, but I promise to provide as much support for all of you as I possibly can.
I hope you all are having a great week!
It's almost Friday!! :))

Hello again! I am still lost and confused when navigating these sites. Unfortunately, I am not as computer-savy as most of the people here. I would deeply appreciate any and all help! If you would like to drop me a line, maybe I can learn a little more on getting in and out sites, responding to blogs, etc, and I was told to go to my spark page to get one of those cute tape measurers, but couldn't find it! HELP!!!!

Feel free to drop me a line here or at roseredd58@yahoo.com. You can never have too many friends!

Hi all. I'm Misty and just started over with spark this month. Still trying to get the hang of things again. My ultimate goal is to lose 20-25 pounds and get my body back in shape. I just started running and will be starting my strength training soon. Starting out slow. I signed up to play softball this spring to really need to get in shape for that. I have a 3 year old boy who also keeps me going. He keeps me pretty busy. Always looking for new people to talk to and become friends with so dont hesitate to message me. :)

Hi! I'm Colleen. I just started the program and I am excited to see all that SparkPeople has to offer. I am 41, married with two children (9 and 5) and work three days a week. My goal is to lose 40 pounds over the next year. I usually am not much of a message board person but wanted the Spark Points and figured I'd give it a try. It is great to see everyone participating in the program!

Good Evening,
I joined SP on Jan 4, but I'm just know exploring all the components. I mainly joined to jump start getting back on track with healthy eating and increase my fitness regime. I'm a married 55 year old working mother of 2 grown daughters. I've always stayed on the edge of a "healthy life style", but can easily find myself in a downward spiral of living off junk food. I wake up every morning planning to exercise, and when I go to bed without doing anything, I always tell myself I'll do better tomorrow. I'm glad I have others to communicate my goals with, and will depend on others for support. I'm glad to be part of a team - let's beat the odds and keep this up more than 6 weeks! Good luck to everyone!

I'm proud of you Terri! It's good that you realized that you need to spend a little more time in the first stage, than just moving on. If you every need some encouragement, feel free to contact me.

Hi, I'm Lori. I joined a few weeks ago, but have not actually had the time to sit down and explore the site. I'm a mom to 4 kids (only one left at home) a wife and a care taker to my dad and father-in-law, both of whom live with us.

I'm hoping to lose 60 - 70 lbs in the next year or 18 months. I've been overweight my whole adult life and it's really starting to get tiresome.

I intend to focus on small, sustainable changes that I continue until they are my habits. I can't change my whole life at once, it just doesn't work! So these past few weeks I've focused on eating more whole grains, fruits and drinking more water. Along with trying to exercise 15 minutes every day.

So glad to be here! Lori

Today, I will do my best to meet my goals, personal and professional, NO EXCUSES!

Hi folks! I'm Kellie, I joined on the 6th but am just now getting started in this group.

A little about me: I'll celebrate my23rd wedding anniversary later this year, I'm an elementary school librarian in Western Ky, and I don't have children unless the four legged-furry variety count. ;) I love crafting and sewing and would do it all day if I could.

So far, this has been the most motivating thing I have ever done weight loss wise. My goal is to lose 50 pounds.

Hi, My name is Connie and I joined sparkpeople on January 5. I have lost weight three other times, with three different programs; but did not stick with the programs after the weightloss. I really like this program and intend to continue this lifestyle for the rest of my life.

Hi....I'm Terri and I started this program about two weeks ago and have yet to take it seriously until today. I'm restarting it at week one and hope to make a conscious effort this time.

I have recently seen my father battle some real health concerns and am fearful that someday, this could be me.

I have two beautiful teenage daughters and a wonderful husband, so I have lots to live for, starting with a healthy lifestyle!!!!!

Hello to all,
Glad to have found this site and everyone that is on it. I've read a bunch of posts, but haven't joined in until today. Still trying to find my way around and figure out a plan of attack.

I'm 47 years old with two teenage girls and a hubby. Am a lifetime member of WW, but haven't been at that goal weight for...oh...about 7 years now. I've come close, but can't seem to stick to the program for too long. I'm thinking this will be different - it seems much easier and no meetings to go to!

Hope everyone is doing well and that we'll get to chat again.

Hi Cheri,

What's important now is that you are ready to be on the right track! That was step # 1. Some other helpful hints are to exercise, watch portions, eat fruits and veggies...and don't skip breakfast.

I'm 30 years old. I recently went through a terrible divorce and managed to put on 40 pounds. I have lost 20 and I'm well on my way to the next 25. I have found this website to be a lifesaver! emoticon

Hi, My name is Cheri. I am a mother of grown sons and changed professional directions three years ago. I maintained a healthy weight for 10 years; however, in this last three years I have put on 30 pounds! I am now sedentary, having trouble putting on my socks, and completely abandoned any exercise regimen. I have finally run out of excuses! I want to regain my shape, my energy and positive self image!

Hey Everyone! My name is Uche. I'm 19 years old and this is my second time on SparkPeople. The 1st time was about a year ago and when i used the site, I lost 15 lbs which is not bad, but when i went back to college a weeks later, i completely forgot about it. My family and I went through a lot last year emotionally, because my father, a fantastic doctor and father was diagnosed with brain cancer last january. He fought a long battle but passed away September 12th, 2009. Throughout the year, I used food as a way to deal with the pain, and stress. I told everyone I was ok, but I really wasn't.

I have struggled with my weight ever since the 3rd grade and have been trying to make some changes in my life since I graduated from High school in 2008. With starting college and losing my father, I've dealt with a lot of things that most people never deal with, but I'm still here. I promised my dad that I would lose weight so that I don't get diabetes like a lot people in my family do. I promised him that I would be healthier, and that is exactly what I'm going to do.

After all I went through last year, I want 2010 to be an incredible year for me, especially in the weight loss area. I weigh 263lbs now but my goal weight is 160. Thats 103 lbs. I know that it is a lot and that it will take A LOT OF TIME, but this time, I'm ready for the challenge. I'm ready to be healthy and not have to worry about how I look in a dress or if my jeans wont fit. I'm ready to be the new ME.

Hi everyone! I am Monica. I am 43 and using Spark for the first time. I have been on MANY "diets" but I am striving for a lifestyle change this time around. I look forward to traveling this journey together. I am getting a bit of a late start in introducing myself because I unexpectantly went out of town last week for a funeral.

Hey all! I am a stay-at-home mom to 4 kids who are 16-19 years old. I also coach both cross country and track. I pretty much found this site by accident, but was pleased I did! It isn't so much about losing weight for me as it is just to improve my overall health through better food choices; however, if I lose about 10 lbs in the process--great! It is important to me to demonstrate healthy living for my children as well as the kids I coach.

Just wanted to say hello. I've been on and off this site multiple times.. but am really wanting this to be my final time having to start over.

I'm Jess, 23 yr. old, happily married almost 2 years, unhappily gained about 40 lbs during the first year lol. My mother called it my "happy fat" but now I'd be happy with it gone plus another 65 lbs with it.

I'm trying to take things slower than in the past, hoping to not burn out like before. So for the first few weeks here I'm gonna be focusing on food intake and getting 3 meals a day within my calorie range. emoticon

Hey everyone!

Sorry I haven't done this yet!

I'm Marina, I'm 25 years old, married for almost 3 years now. No kids yet, but I would like to be really healthy before I have them.

I was always "the stick" that most people hate growing up. Could eat anything and not even think about gaining a pound. That all changed about 4 years ago when my husband proposed. Since then, with the stressof the wedding I had to plan on my own, and a lot of drama that happened with the wedding, I ended up only eating about one meal a day. Which pretty much ruined my metabolism. So, in 3- 3.5 years I've gained almost 40 pounds.

Not that I think I'm overweight, I just realized I need to be more active, and tone up what I have. I have become more self-conscious than ever before and now just feel weird. So, I'm hoping that this will give me more confidence also.

I'm not so worried about a number for me, just want to be able to fit in my clothes!!!

Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."

My main problem is lack of motivation - I'm hoping getting iinvolved in the community side of things here will help to give me the kick I need to get to where I want to be! :)

1. 20m exercise a day.

2. 30m job admin a day.

Hi everyone,
My name is Brandi, I am 22 and have a 4 year old daughter. My husband is in the Marine Corps and we are currently stationed in Okinawa. I joined spark on the 8th for the second time...the first time the only thing I really did was sign up and forget about it. This time I am sticking to my nutrition and fitness. I have been to the gym twice since starting I plan on going again tonight.
It is hard work but it feels great! I dont want to waste the opportunity we have here in Okinawa to see and do all these great things by being too heavy to enjoy it. I'm looking forward to being active in this group and seeing everyones progress as well as my own!

Hi everyone I'm Kim and I just turned 30 last month which totally changed my perspective on life. I've been married to my husband for 8 years and we have 2 sons aged 7 and 2 and I'm stepmom to his 11 year old daughter who lives with us. I decided to join SparkPeople to help me get into shape and also to improve my health. Both parents died of heart attacks and my father was diabetic so while the odds may be against me I refuse to back down without a fight.

Hi All, I'm new and still trying to navigate all the awesome stuff at SparkPeople. It's comforting to know that there are many, many people who have a healthier lifestyle as their goal. I don't feel so alone when I sign in and see you all here.

Because I'm new it will take some time to get up to speed. In the meantime, my name is Deb. I'm 49 years old. I'm helping to raise my 4 yr old granddaughter, and would like to lose 40 lbs to increase my energy level and be more active for her!

Hello! I'm Jessica. I am married with two small children--my son who just turned 5--was born with End-Stage Renal Disease and required a kidney transplant at 11 months. He spent 7 months of his first year in intensive care. That is where my weight battle begins. During that time I "ate" my feelings.

I did lose some of that weight, but eventually got pregnant with my daughter. I'm currently smaller than I was when I got pregnant the first time around, but I do have a long way to go to get to a place where I'm happy with me. I truly look forward to getting to know everyone! Feel free to stop by my SparkPage :)

Hi everyone. I am a little late in joining this group as I am still learning my way around the site. I joined on the 5th so I think this is where I belong.
I am 50 years old and have 6 grown adult children, 4 grandchildren and 1 dog, Oh, and I can't forget my loving husband too.
I have done most of the diets that have come down the pike but I am REALLY hopeful that this is the lifestyle change I need to lose the 35'ish pounds I need to lose. I'd be thrilled with 25 pounds but the 35 is my real goal. I work for a large Pharmaceutical company and sit at a desk all day so my biggest problem is getting my exercise in daily.
Looking forward to meeting some of you and this journey we are in together!

Hi everyone! I'm Joanne, I'm married and have four children. Started finally taking myself about a month ago but just joined SparkPeople last week. Right after my husband was hospitalized with pneumonia and I've now had 5 days with no workouts and eating junk again. How quickly old habits come back! I'm hoping to get back on track today, not I'm GOING to get back on track today. Can't wait to get to know everyone and watch everyone's success!

Hello, my name is Krystal. I am 23 and had my precious son 4 1/2 months ago. I only gained 12 lbs in the pregnancy and lost that immediately, but since then I have been gaining weight and I already had a lot I wanted to lose. I don't want to be this size anymore! I am determined to change my lifestyle once and for all.
My immediate goal is to lose 30 -40 lbs before our vacation in June, but my ultimate goal is to lose around 90 lbs. Would love some friends on here!

Hi, I'm Monica. I'm 24, married and a mom to a 22 month old baby girl. I discovered SP last week by some random internet search and decided to give it a try. I love it! It is relly a great motivating tool. I am looking to loose 50 lbs (this is my first goal, once reached I would love to push myself to loose more)I would love to loose as much as possible by my 25th birthday! I'd love to meet some great people here and keep each other motivated.

Hi everyone.... my name is Heather. I am divorced with 2 kids. I am trying to loose about 15 lbs. Its really not so much about the weight - more then anything I want to have more energy and spend more active time with my kids. Most days our "quality" time is centered around the tv. I want to be able to take them to the park and be able to keep up with them instead of sitting on the bench watching them play. emoticon

Hello everyone,
My name is Mariah. I decided to start spark people because I'm going through a new transition in my life. I am getting a divorce, finishing my BA and starting Nursing School. I figured this was a good time to loose the weight especially since in Feb. I will be starting the next quarter of my life. Here is hoping for a good year and lots of weight loos.

Hi Wendy! It's crazy how time flies and all of a sudden you are heavier than ever. You try to live life and enjoy yourself, but then you bigger than you ever thought you would be. It's not fair :) Glad you are here and Good luck!

Thanks Stacey! That was the one good thing I got when I gained weight...boobs :) Never had those before and I will be sad when they go, but worth it if I can look at myself in the mirror without wanting to throw up!! emoticon

Can't wait to see how we progress.

Welcome, Haley! Good to have you! My breaking point was bras - I thought my bra must have gotten shrunk in the dryer by accident. Then I thought ALL my bras might have gotten shrunk. Then I realized, no - I grew!! I didn't even gain weight on the scale, I guess it just redistributed - now I have to order bras online because I'm bigger than the biggest one I can buy around here. :( So I WILL get some pounds off before I have to buy bras again!! Hang in there and get ready to buy some new clothes - woo hoo!

Hi all! I joined mid-week and am getting use to the site. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself quickly. I am Haley from Kansas City and wanting to lose 3-4 sizes by July. Over the past year and a half I went up almost 4 sizes. I am on the breaking point of the next size, but refuse to buy those pants. That motivated me to start working out and getting back what use to be mine.
Good to see there are many support avenues here. Good luck to everyone!!

Hello new friends! I'm a 36-year-old mother of two boys who just moved to Aberdeen in September. I have been trying to lose weight literally all my life - my parents put me on a diet in elementary school and since then my weight has been yo-yoing all over the place. Last month I got diagnosed with gluten intolerance, and since starting a gluten-free diet I have been feeling less pain, more energy, and a better mental attitude. I've never tried dieting while eating gluten-free - not sure how it will go, but I'm committed to trying! Plus my dad bought me 3 months at Curves for Christmas. So I'm excited to be here! :)

Hi, I am a stay at home mom of a 21 month old boy. I finally have the motivation to get my life back on track after my sister helped me get started on a couch to 5k program. I am happy I have found something that I think will help me get motivated.

Hello! I'm new here. I'm a writer and a special education teacher. My weight has been up and down like a yo-yo the last few years, since I left college and started teaching. Two hundred pounds crept up on me and I want at least 30 of them gone before my first book comes out this fall!

I did okay today. But it's the weekend. This is going to be tough once school starts again!

I am an x-ray/cat scan tech and a part-time photographer!!

Hi Everyone!! I joined sparkle today and had not heard of it before and I am very exited about it. I have done "body for life" in the past and that worked well for me. I have also done "Billy Blanks Tae-bo" in the past as well and that really worked great for me. Granted, that was before I had my two kids. Now, I find it very difficult to make it to the gym, because I lack energy, because I don't take care of myself.

So for 2010, its time to take care of me and get into the best shape of my life the healthy way and keep this 35lbs off for good. My kids are 3 and 18 mts now and I have got to get healthy for myself so I can take care of my family. I am tired of being tired all of the time.

I am here for motivation and to give motivation as well. We can do this ladies, this is the year for us!!!

Hi,
I just joined Sparkpeople a couple of days ago. I have not started with exercise yet as I have the flu and a really bad ear infection; antibiotics have not kicked in yet.
I have tried South Beach and Biggest loser and both worked for a while then stopeed. I have lost 50lbs, although I put 7 on since November. I need to lose 30-40lbs. I am currently 179lbs and my first goal is 150lbs. I hope to lose it before going to Cuba in April.
I look forward to getting to know people going through the same journey and I am.
Tina

Hello All!
I have also used SparkPeople before. I lost about 10 pounds but didn't stick with it because I lost easy access to the internet. That shouldn't be a problem this time. I have 30 pounds to lose. I can't believe I've let myself get to this point. But, I'm not going to live in the past. I'm starting over and I'm happy to have each of you to help me on my way and I hope to be a positive influence as well. CHEERS!

Hi all! I am also a 2nd timer to sparkspeople. I joined in Nov of 2008 and by feb of 2009 I had lost 35 pounds. Now I am back with all the weight plus some. I am tired of being tired. I need to lose about 60 pounds to be healthy and I am going to do it! We have started a biggest loser at work and I am determined to win! My only drawback is that I go on vacation in about a month. Should have started back earlier, but didn't, so I will try to make a good effort now and then try to maintain while on vacation.

Looking forward to the fellowship

I'm Jen and a second time sparker. The first time I stopped after some personal/family struggles. I was too depressed to stay on track and put in the effort. I beleive I am ready now to start over again and this time follow through. Mostly just wanted to say hi to everyone.

I'm Shannon. I am a mother of 4 (one is newly out of the house!), high school English teacher, and full time graduate student. While we eat a very healthy diet in our home, my busy lifestyle has me eating when I am stressed and exhausted (which is all the time!) I'm working to stop trying to fuel my body to stay active more than it should during a day.

I joined SP last year but didn't do much with it, guess I wasn't desperate enough but I sure am now. Stopped smoking 9 mos ago and have packed on 50lbs on top of the extra 25lbs I was already carrying.
I am 65, grandmother of 5, mom to 4 sons and 5 kittys. I am looking forward to sharing and giving any help I can to fellow sparkers

Hello everyone! I've recently joined sparkpeople after running out of money on weight watchers! So far, so good! I'm really impressed with the resources and support that are available on the site.
I'm from MN and am married with a 7month daughter, Leila. She is my joy in life! This January I will begin student teaching, and will graduate in June. My weight loss goal is set for June 8th, which is my daughter's 1st Bday and the end of my student teaching. I would love to start the summer (and my career) out with confidence and health.
I enjoy running and walking, and playing tennis and soccer (although it's hard to find people to play with). So, I mainly run to keep in shape and to try to repair my stretched-out-from-pregnancy body :)

Hi Everyone!
My name is Karen, I am a mom of 2 girls and I am so ready to start living an active, healthy lifestyle. I found that long term goals aren't working for me, so I am taking one day at a time and hoping it works this time around!

My name is Anne, and I'm 21. At the end of 2008 I weighed in at 198, and I decided that I WAS NOT going to hit 200. I'd made resolutions like that before, but for some reason it just clicked with me. In the past year, I've lost about 30 pounds, but I'm ready to step it up and lose at least 20 more by June. I'm going to go live in Japan as an English teacher in June, and I don't want to be the chubby American (again!).

Hi,
I'm Ann and joined today. I have been working out with a personal trainer for a few years but still can't get the weight off. Not sure if this will work for me, but I want to give it a try. I need to eat more in order to get my metabolism going, but food allergies make it difficult. I look forward in joining you all on this journey.
