Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.

I understand the feeling about exercise. I feel better when I do it but getting up and doing it is not easy to do. I am looking forward to this challenge to get back in the habit and establish a new routine for the new year and I plan to continue past the end of the month.
We can do this and we are here to cheer each other on.
I know what you mean, Carleewithak. I initially lost about 40 pounds by using SparkPeople, but then I needed gall bladder surgery and ended up gaining it all back and some. Here's hoping to new progress...
Welcome back! Maybe with encouragement here and the new exercise ideas you will find something you like to do and you will learn to love to exercise. Just finding something you like that keeps you moving. Good luck!

I'm with you! I don't normally feel motivated to excercise, even though I know I'll feel better about myself afterwards. I've been on Sparkpeople for about a year and initially lost 15 lbs, but then life got crazy and I have gained back 4 in the past few months with the holidays. I'm starting fresh and hope to lose a pound a week for the next few months, and I hope that this will get me started!

A gentle kick in the you know what to help you get motivated. There is a whole team here and others that are willing to support and help motivate you on, but if you don't check in there is not much one can do. I had to check in daily with one group to keep me motivated and this helped me to find FUN exercises.
