Hi, I am starting again after a long break. I have a lot to lose, but I am taking it one day at a time. I am in for the long haul; I need to get rid of this weight. I love to bicycle, but since my bike is out of order, I am on the treadmill. Good news is I have always hated the treadmill, and the past couple of times haven't seemed as hard. I am looking forward to sharing with everyone.

Hi - I've been doing this for 10.9 months and am looking for more sparks. I keep finding these old challenges where I end up being the lone participant, but that's ok with me. I've joined two other challenges that haven't started, yet (what's THAT all about), so I've joined this to see what comes of it. I did the over 50 with more than 50, and lost 50, so I've left that group, but I still have 36 more to lose. Here I goooooooooooooooo!

Hi everybody! I am a 56 year old with a need for community and accountability on this journey toward healthier living. Since my goal is to become healthier and more physically fit, I don't weigh myself. I know my personality enough to know that when I concentrate on it, I will fail every time. My new focus has been a success. I have dropped 10 sizes since I started in February. Ironically, the weight loss has been the "icing on the cake"! I have rheumatoid arthritis and although there have been times when it flared and made my journey hard, I didn't give up. I have become much stronger and healthier. Sometimes I even go on 20 mile bike rides! What a change! I love SPARKPEOPLE!

Baby steps turn to leaps and bounds! "Just today" turns into a lifetime of improved health and fitness. It turned this body from a size 18+ to a size 4-6! Maintaining my new life, habits and body.

Hi all, I am 40-something court reporter. I used to be more active, like I ran my first 1/2 marathon last year and now I have gained all that weight back plus some. I am just looking for some motivation, accountability and inspiration which will hopefully help me loose the blubber ring around my belly. My major problem is that I am a sugar junkie, so if anyone has got ideas on what worked for them, please share!

Hi! I'm Sue. Trying to get rid of the weight I put on when I was pregnant with my first. 2 kids later I'm still trying with little success. Trying to loose about 40 - 50 pounds and get back to regular exercising and eating right. Never thought it would be this hard, but it seems like I never have time for me. Hello, my name is Shoshana. I have been with spark for quite some time. My goal is to lose around 125 pounds. I would have to say my main problem I am dealing with right now is giving up. I come up with every excuse in the book to keep myself from working out, and convincing myself that it is ok to have that 3rd slice of pizza, etc...
So I am back and want to start fresh and get my health in check so I am not dealing with problems later on down the road. Because if I can avoid major medical problems just by losing weight and getting healthy, then what the heck am I waiting for!!!

Hi! My name is Chris. I'm a 63 year old wife, mother, grandmother who has been battling being overweight since my 3rd child was born....32 years ago! I know what to do but life's stresses seem to send me over the edge and I start to eat. Everyone in my family looks to me for comfort, encouragement, advice, etc. Frankly, I'm tired of it. There never seems to be even a minute that is meant for me. The result is that I am blessed with an abundance of family love and self loathing. I do get "support" from family members until they sabatoge. If I don't do something about this I will get to the point of no return, healthwise. I want to eat well, exercise and do what's good for me. This well is running dry.

I am 54 yrs old. I was never overweight until my late 30's when I started on antidepressant medication. I nver had to watch what I ate or anything and this is extremely difficult for me. I really want to lose weight for better health and that is my my motivation.

Hello Everyone! I'm Jen and I have been part of spark people for a long time.. but I let it go and didnt stick with it. I am very active. I teach a bootcamp class, run two to three times a week and also take two to three other fitness classes a week. But my problem is FOOD! I have not lost weight in over a year and I am very depressed about it. I didnt realize how upseting it really was to me until I saw a picture of myself today from a Halloween party we were at last night. I am HUGE and cant believe I let myself get this way. Well this stops now and I am staying on track to change my life. I am running the Disney Half marathon in January and I want to have lost at least 15 lbs by then. So that is my short term goal

Hi, I'm Kim and I joined SP on January 4th of this year. I did better than I expected and by May I had gone from 178 to 153; but, then it got really hot here and I wasn't able to run (my biggest form of cardio); the summer semester started - keeping me in school from 10-4 plus hours of homework; working part-time; and on 6/16 my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer - he was in the hospital for 25 days and then he passed away on 7/9.
So, during that short amount of time I had a lot of emotional turmoil, and way too much stress. I was not exercising or eating right, and I gained weight: putting me back up to 163. Now I am back on track and determined to get to and maintain my goal weight of 128.
I hope to meet and befriend as many as possible.

I started some of the SP bootcamp videos on Sunday after hitting a plateau and it has officially been BUSTED!! These videos are so easy and it's awesome that I can take them anywhere I go. I no longer have to feel "workout anxiety" when I travel for work. This stuff can easily be modified to be done in a hotel room. I am loving it!

Hi!
I suppose I am not really new. This was my first attempt at a bootcamp two years ago (has it been that long?) I don't believe I was able to continue with it very far. I had health issues and lacked the stamina. However, I was impressed with the format, and have kept that as my regular routine. Since that time I have completed Spark people's Official Bootcamp twice. I have just completed it again, and am looking for a bit of a change. I like bootcamp challnges and thought I would try this one again-and complete it. emoticon

Hi I am Rose,

I just started on the 4th of January... however I've been with SP for almost 3 yrs. I am attempting to participate in the everyday challenge. emoticon

After going for my oncology check up, I was disappointed in some of my Statistics; but I an not discouraged. I am more determined than ever to live life to the fullest.

Ok, I think I figured it out - sorry to have added a new one. I am so depressed about my weight and know I need to do something. I usually try to do it all by myself and the result is pretty much the same thing - no real success. This time, I'm going to reach out and ask for some help/support. emoticon

HI I'm Kathy, I'm not really new, I sliped off the track and now am back. Recently retired and now have time to do it right with the people to help me. Started to do it all over again and already lost 9 pounds. I did it in the beginning of the year and it works. But you have to keep at and don't stop. So now I am determined to keep at it. emoticon

Hi, My name is Carol. I joined SP on Aug 15, 2007. I have been on and off of the site since then. This past couple of months I have been incredibly well because I decided to actually work with SP. I track my food, exercise and water. It has helped me so much. The wealth of information on this site is just incredible. I decided to join the Body Bootcamp to get myself to exercise every day. I love SP and the camaraderie.

Hello my name is Pam. Today was my 2nd day doing a boot camp video - I love them. I just wish they were a bit longer. Exercising is the hardest for me - i want to but can't gather up enough umph to get going. Coach Nicole is a great instructor. I can't wait for the 3rd video. Love SP keep up the great work.

Hi All,

I just finished the 10 minutes of cardio a day, challenge and decided to give this a try. I only missed one day in a month so I hope that I am ready to jump to this next level of exercise. I am pretty good at doing the cardio but need the strength and muscle training as well.

Dear Sick, I have confidence in you. Steroids are so troublesome (your first obstacle).

My name is Anna. I'm 50 years old and right now I feel am kind of in my own self's way. I do good for a little while and fall off. I got a little sick a couple of years ago, and one of the medications I took was a steroids for about three years, off and on. I put on a nice 96 lbs, and am sick of me. I just can't get rid of any of the weight. My energy is at an all time low,but somehow someway am coming out from under this, I will not dig my grave with my teeth.

My name is Janie. I'm 56 years old. I have been on SP this time since January and have lost 20 lbs but seem to be in a lull. I'm on several message boards but I need this one I think. I'm not sure about how to get around a lot of these sites.
Someone tell me about how I need to go about the Bootcamp thing please.
I'm trying desperately to keep myself disciplined with the nutrition page but sometimes when I'm away from home I have to miss a day or so and I hate that.
I have to be away from home because of grand jury one week a month, I have a grandbaby who lives 5 hours away and my husband has lymphatic leukemia and has to spend a lot of time at Drs and hospital.
Anyway I hope I can keep the hard work up with your help.

I have attempted to complete a session several months ago, but illness prevented me from participating as I would like. I am ready to begin to become more active again and would like to try another week. I completed the first week this afternoon on kickboxing and am looking forward to completing the week.
