That sounds like a perfect meal! I've been to only one catered wedding like that - absolutely divine! And worth any unknown sugar or carbs, absolutely!

Thanks Dawn! The wedding was beautiful! Gorgeous location - it was at a mansion in the courtyard. My friend made a lovely bride.

The food was belly good minus the cake of course. There was a bit of a glaze on the chicken, but it wasn't sweet. It was a sit down and waitered meal.

The meal consisted of: chicken breast (grilled no skin), a small serving of mashed potatoes (looked to be about 1/2 cup) 1 spear of each: Asparagus, carrot, and broccoli - each beautifully draped across the potatoes. Prior to that we had a mixed salad with a balsamic vinaigrette drizzled on top. There 4 small cheese-filled croutons artistically placed around the plate. There was a rosemary cornbread slice for each of us at the table. We all had water w/a lemon wedge to drink - which was nice and refreshing on such a warm day.

Overall, I was happy with the meal and how I felt afterward. emoticon

If you want to be really good, stick to your chicken and some salad! Of course, if the chicken's covered in some sweet sauce you need to scrape off as much as you can, discreetly of course. And it depends on if there is a buffet or it's a sit down waitered event. If it's a waitered event I'd probably take small taste portions of all the courses except for cake and if there's bread.

I am going to a wedding tomorrow. The reception is going have a catered meal with a choice of chicken or beef. I chose chicken. I don't exactly know what is included with the chicken or how it's even prepared. Then there's the wedding cake, etc.....

Besides not having any cake, does anyone have any suggestions how I can make smart choices? Thanks!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I'm not a vegetarian either. I do know that there are plenty of veggies out there with low sugar values and like Dawn said, you can up your protein with nuts and there are soy products use can use too. Also, do you not eat animal products like eggs and cheese? Those are good sources of protein as well.

Do you have any of Jorge's books? He has food lists at the back of his original BFC Plan's book.

I don't have any good advice for you because I'm not vegetarian, but I do eat lots of nuts and salad and always make sure I get enough fiber. Do you know how much fiber you are getting? I eat plenty of veggies, too, it's only fruit that I limit.

Not sure how much longer I continue with this plan.

On the one hand it is rather simple to follow, is giving good results, and has killed my sugar cravings.

The downside for my body ? Constant 'bathroom issues', and it is a bit of a nightmare as I do not eat meat, fish, chicken or seafood, and it is hard to have only 15 sugars a day, as fruit and veggies are the mainstay of a vegetarian diet.

Not sure what I want to do sigh.................... emoticon

Hello!
Hope everyone had a great Holiday. I'm back into the danger zone due to partying and not working out.
Anyway have not given up.
I probably wont post here much though-I'm starting ajuice fast to try to reboot my system.

It seems imposable to eat out without messing things up, even if you order a salad they manage to make them unhealthy. You go in willing to stay in track and it seems the only way to achieve it is by only drinking water. LOL!

Well, I just got back from eating out, and my tummy is upset! I added my my food, and even though I made mostly healthy choices, I did eat some of the appetizer and I think that put me into three carb servings. And I can't handle it anymore! Guess that's a good thing.

Hey everyone just wanted to check in real quick to let you know that I miss you and hope to be back soon. I went to the doctor yesterday and they told me it takes about 6wks to feel like I am getting somewhere. I have been in terrible pain and not sleeping well and my diet has suffered a bit. I have put on 5lbs and not happy about it. I am trying not to focus so much on diet until I get my body back to health. Hop everyone is doing well and enjoying your summer.

Today we had a great day. Went to the aquarium, go carts, and ate out. Had a very tasty salad with lots of water. Best of all kids didn't complaint for going out, it seams that what we did to them yesterday worked. We went out to the movies and since they couldn't decide which one to watch without complaining we left without watching any and gave them an entire dose of shopping (8 hours) which they hate.

It is great to get a break from kids school and everything related to it but it would be better if your kids would want to get in the car with no fuss and get sick and tired of those electronics! I am finding it so hard to follow the program and get to the gym. Don't get me wrong I am eating pretty good and doing some workout just not as I wished. When they are at school I just concentrate in my workout after dropping them at school and then on my food. But with people in the house who want to eat at all time, who do not agree on the menu and who refuse to get outdoors, I am exhausted and searching for a miracle to get outdoors with happy people ready to enjoy the day!

Back from vacation and believe me I am feeling every inch of it. I did not feel great because I did not follow plan while I was gone. Artificial sweetners in my drinks and I even drank diet sodas. I ate southern fried foods and boy or boy I am feeling it. I dont like the way I feel because I feel fat! Today I am back on track and already feeling a difference. Monday I will be having my surgery so I dont know how long I will be away from spark but I will be thinking about you guys.

Thanks Dawn. If you kept a food journal just try following what you ate the week you lost the most. Also try splitting your exercise to do it in morning and evening so you can accelerate your metabolism. Hope you can reach your goal!

I just wanted to share that I finally managed to eat belly fat cure way today. I am back ! emoticon I didn't even try hard eating the 17 day diet way like I had mentioned before. I rather eat this way since I know the plan than try anything new with no time to learn the plan. Plus why change if I had enjoyed every bite in the Bely Fat Cure diet!

I understand Diana! It is frustrating to not see results even when you know you aren't doing everything you can to lose weight. Especially because Jorge says you don't need to exercise to lose the belly fat. I think that to a certain point that's true, but my experience tells me otherwise at least at this point in my journey. I bet once the surgery's all finished and you are healed up that the inches are going to start flying off!

I am just frustrated not seeing results right now but dont worry I am not going to get off track. I worked way to hard to get those 30lbs off and I dont want to ever go back to the way it was. Just to let everyone know that I am scheduled to have surgery on 6/13 so I hope all turns out well and that I will be able to be back 100%.

Diana - I am so sorry - that is such a disappointment when you aren't where you want to be going into vacation. Don't let it derail your eating though! If you can just take it one meal at a time you will feel better in no time. I promise! Is there any exercise that you like to do at home? Maybe you could commit to 5 minutes of exercises that don't hurt in the morning and 5 at night? Or something that works for you.

Well it is almost vacation for me and I am not to happy to report when I went to try on clothes today I really wanted to go and eat something bad.....Nothing seemed to fit right. I can really tell a difference in how clothes are fitting since I have not gone to the gym much.

Well it is looking like surgery is in my near future. This surgeon told me that I have a nerve that is being pinched and is causing all my pain. He even showed me it on his I-pad so I knew what in the world he was talking about. He does not know if this is going to take away all of my arm pain at this point yet because I do have a form of tendonitis in my left arm and elbow caused by my neck issues. So he said we have to take one step at a time. Thanks for all your kind words.

Sorry everyone I have not been around to much lately....I have had a lot going on and it has kind of put me in a funk. Dori I work for a sports medicine and we have tried about everything there is to try. Tomorrow is my 3rd surgery consult and to be honest I dont know what I am gonna do if he suggest cerivcal surgery after the last one said I needed arm surgery. You think that doctors are the ones that shoud know it all and not make things more confusing for you. I have decided to have a injection in my arm so I can enjoy my vacation in a couple of weeks.

Thank you too! Great job with the exercise - for me the exercise is the line between losing and not losing weight at this point. Some days I just have to take a break for various reasons, but I try to get in some every day.

Wishing every Mother out there a Great Mothers Day tomorrow!
This week has been quit a challenge, one thing I manage well was to exercise six days and I am proud of stepping it up by signing up for a weights program at our rec center. You have no idea how sore I am. I wasn't good at keeping my journal or following the diet but was not too bad either. Though we caught the stomach virus and I thought I was going to die I manage to get up the next day and hit the gym.

That is great that you got to enjoy such fabulous day. Today we had some snow again. After I bought a bunch of plants a week ago I planted those that will do well in 30 degrees and below and have about 30 plants in my garage waiting to have better weather to be planted. I heard that it can snow in June here so we will see. Love it though!

We had a great sunny day here in Oregon but heard tomorrow it is back to rain. So today I took advantage of the nice weather and got some yardwork done, walked the dogs, went to the gym and even had a great BBQ. I can not wait until summer gets here.

One surgeon down and one to go.....It looks like surgery will be in my near future. I was told I have a 90-95% chance of having no pain from the first surgeon.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I will be seeing the surgeon tomorrow to see if surgery will be in my near future. I am sorry that I am not on spark as much as I use to be but once I get back to health I hope to be back more. Thanks for your prayers and support.

Dear BFC Friends,
I've been awol for about a month, now. Our beautiful grandaughter was born on St Patty's Day. I've been trying to help as she is having some colic to parents that have always required a lot of sleep. So this is difficlut for them to adjust, since this is the first child.

Our dearest uncle (in perfect health) had a sudden brain hemorage in the wee hours of the am. We flew to California this past Sat and returned home on Tue about midnight.
He was dear to our hearts, ate properly, exercised daily and did everything right. He left behind 4 adult children and 3 wonderful grandchildren. God had a perfect reason for taking him, yet, we know not why.

Yesterday, I received a call from the nursing home where my mother resides. She has dimentia and has been living at this particular home for about a month. She was admitted to the hospital 4/14 evening. The doctor told us today she has meningitas, kidney failure, weighs 87 pds. and has stopped eating and drinking. As I'm writing this, we're awaiting for test results and waiting. Yes, for the inevitable--but its so hard- as we know not when God will call her home. Please, my Spark People friends, I asked for your prayers. This is such a difficult time and so many decisions to be made. I know, because she has always been a didicated Christian, that she will meet her God in heaven. Please, again, remember us in your prayers.

The Mri showed a disc buldge and a small tear so they will be sending me for a surgical consult to let me know what my options are. I just hope whatever path I chose helps with the pain. Thanks everyone for your prayers.

My Mri is set for tomorrow morning. I sure hope it shows something so I can atleast know what is going on. I am still trying to do the BFC as best as I can but I have been starving all the time since they put me on prednisone and other meds. Even though my weight has stayed pretty much the same I feel a little frumpy since I have not been able to exercise. I can really tell that my clothes dont seem to fit as good as the did.

When is your MRI? I hope it shows something positive for you. Don't feel too down on yourself. It's difficult to exercise and eat perfectly when you don't feel good. Just make sure you take good care of yourself!

I thought I would follow up with everyone to let you know what is going on. Just saw my MD today and they want me to have a MRI first and then will decide if I need to see a neurologist or a surgeon. I pray that the MRI shows something so they can figure out what is going on. It is starting to wear me down. No weight loss and not been able to go to the gym either. Just a little discourged. But so proud of everyone that is losing with the BFC!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and prayers. I just scheduled an appointment with a neurologist but the bad news is that I have to wait a month before they can even get me in. The pain has been so bad there are days I dont feel I can take it anymore. I sure hope that they can figure out how to help me with my pain. I dont wont to resort to surgery so it looks like a possible nerve block. So keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I sure miss all of you guys.

Hey everyone just a quick check in. I am a little discouraged with how the outcome of the injection has been. No relief from the pain and have had really bad headaches since I have gotten it. It was so bad the other day thought I was going to have to be rushed to the emergency room. Was told that this could last for the next two weeks. So I have not been able to do much. Still following the BFC but have not been able to do much else. Sad to feel like things are not going to get any better. Hope everyone else is doing great....by the looks of the weight loss I would say yes you guys are doing awesome.

Thanks everyone! Just wanted to check in and say that I feel a little better still having some pain but they said it could take 7-10 days for complete relief. My concern has been that I have been really fatigued. I almost have felt like I have had the flu. If not better by tomorrow I will have to call the doctor to see what is going on.

Thank goodness the cervical injection is done and over with. I have to wait 7-10 days to see if it was helpful or not. So I still will not be able to overdo it on spark, The worst part of the whole day was them trying to get the IV in. I took 3 painful tries before they call the IV therapist down to help get the IV in. I have really small veins that make it hard to get a needle in. But once the IV was in and meds put in I dont really remember anything else. I will keep in touch to let you guys know how it goes.

I love not being stuffed into my clothes. Also it is great not having pants or panty hose roll off my stomach. There are so many benefits to loosing weight I am sorry I didn't do it sooner. I guess I was waiting for the belly fat diet. emoticon

Hey Diane - you really should take some measurements today, and then again at the end of the month. I have to rely on measurements mostly right now, because when you get close to goal things do slow way down. Do you have any information about what size you want to be and how many inches you have left to get there? If you want to be, say, a size 6, you would want your bust measurements to be 36, your waist 28, hips 38. Size 4 would be a 35,27,37. To get more, google womens size charts.
