Hey Girl....how goes it.

Snow STILL in Ohio.....man in the last three days we've had two ice storms...and about 8" of snow.emoticon

STS will be in my workout room on Monday 02/02

Simply can't wait to start the preview process next week ...timing couldn't have been any better.

For GB 2009 Challenge #1 I'm choosing option #1...that way I can start STS with the rest of the Catheites on CatheNation.com
TALK ABOUT HYPE....and MOTIVATION.....it's in the air for sure.

You should get your's next week too....they started shipping regular sales today.

I'm excited for you....You will absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Cathe....She'll make you cry in pain, but REJOICE in the accomplishments...and I promise that you will not be alone in this.
There are over 30,000 women across the world that will be doing the STS program over the next couple of months.

That's a lot of HOT BODS walking around this coming summer as a direct result of the STS program.

I plan on being one of them.....YOU TOO
(Ok...I know volunteering a friend isn't the coolest thing to do when it comes to so much work.....
BUT, you'll be so very glad that I volunteered you to be standing right there next to me, Chaz, DK, Jazzcam, Jazzid, (and a host of Sparklers on the Cathe Fans team too).
It will be HIGH SWEATING....for sureemoticon

Victoria – So glad the SUN decided to show itself these last two days. I’m ready for a STEADY DIET OF IT…. emoticon
Vacations are great….not necessarily a weight gain … You might be surprised. With all that SUNSHINE…your spirits just might be soaring and you’ll be walking around a lot (won’t you?)

Did you order STS? I’m excited that’s those new workouts are coming. I’m already doing a few new exercises from the U-Tube clips. Muscles are making themselves aware daily. emoticon
The office lighting really does make a HUGE difference.

Oooo CA, warm and sunny! Don't worry about putting all the weight back on. You can still make wise choices and still have a good time.

I'm a little afraid of packing back on some lbs in Disney but we've got healthy meals planned everyday with the exception of dinner which will be eaten out. Our timeshare has a small kitchen and I'm packing a good amount of food and less clothes this year. I'm going to make a point to not over eat at dinner just beacuse it tastes good, not order everything I see on the menu, entrees only, and I'm not going to have dessert every night. I'm keeping the drinking to a minimum as well, but the gout is certainly helping with that decsion! Going to stay away from the high calorie mixed drinks and just have wine. We should also be doing a good amount of walking so I hope to keep the vacation gain to a minumum.

Lets make week 4 120% effort so we can enjoy our vacations!!

YES - 40 degree day here too! isn't it GREAT!

Sun is shinning on me right now as I type. I LOVE sunny days. overcast days make me ill

the days are getting longer - each day that passes - I just love longer days.

I have been doing well this week. Not having all the crazy cravings of chocolate and sweets as much. able to keep that stuff at bey a little better. Had a bad breakfast today though. set up my food for today to have special K and skim milk for breakfast and then instead I had some Kebbler topper crackers with the last bit of tuna that was for my son's sandwich... that was not really a good call. the crackers are not healthy and the tuna had mayo in it. but at least the tuna part was full of protein so it's not a total loss LOL

I'll have to go update my tracker now.

I look forward to the rest of the day - I want to make it a good one. I'm down to 191 so that's a good thing. I want to get down into the 180's before I go away to CA. I know that those day's away are going to pack all my weight back on... it's a bumma but I am planning for it so psychologically I'm alright with it. I know that when I get back - I'll be right here with Challenge #2.

Victoria - Wow! Reading everyone's encouraging words is exciting, isn't it? I hope you're back to kicking some booty and blowing those negative words and thoughts out of your mind and heart. You'll only grow stronger from all of this, my friend!

Have a fabulous weekend -- I'm going to be sweating and working out hard right along with you humming "our" song. It's supposed to be a rare Ohio sunny 40 degree day - I hope your day is filled with sunshine, too!

Vic, I would LOVE to get together this spring. Maybe we could meet in Boston and walk the garden and then the river. They always do such a fabulous job with the flowers in the garden. I can take June in her stroller and we can grab a healthy bite to eat!! Let's throw out some dates as we get closer to better weather.

Ya you girls should meet up - come spring time make a date to walk in the park or something nice.

I know it was the person - the private message that person sent me refered to different things and some of it was personal that they know... They just have some major personal issues which cloud their vision on things. I guess that's life...

Time to move on and stop pondering her sickness and start working on my own life goals.

:) Hugs - you girls all sound wonderful with the singing and all that.

Victoria – Singing Harmony to YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND…….We all sing well together, don’t you think?

PODS…THEY’RE EVERYWHERE. Dammitall anyway.
Just a thought……In MyBlogland….many people’s spaces are hijacked. The person sending you that horrible retort, may not have been the legitimate sender at all, but a hacker.
Just a thought…

We’re here for you…and IF EVER you get any messages from anyone from this team that is out of character for that person…I hope that we – as a team – will find out what the heck that person is thinking / doing. I know I’ve given my cell phone number to one GB member in case I’m not on for any length of time. She lives within one hour of me. I hope to meet her some day soon. But, until then - I just think it’s important for someone to know who I am in the ‘real’ world.

Victoria, Victoria I was just checking out your sparkpage and then came here to comment..and read your rough week with a blogger...first whenever someone attacks someone its either anger towards themselves or some kind of jealously let it roll off girl but it kinda of go with me looking at your page...don't you see how beautiful you are..you have a stunning face and you need to work on your emotions hence the roller coaster we all go on..you are worth it and need to hold yourself up high and self talk (which I do all the time out loud to myself) spend many years from abuse telling myself I am worthy and I am an orginal there is no other one out there like you...you make it the best!!!! You can do this ..you must let the desire to be fit to ride over the desire to eat because of emotions..BE STRONG !!!!!emoticonemoticon

Oh Victoria - how absolutely awful! There is absolutely no excuse in the world for what that person did! We're thankful that you're recovering and are picking up the pieces. I will echo Jannie's comments and tell you to "stick with us girl" - we are definitely here for you. I'm singing a duet with Jannie - "you've got a friend!" You CAN do this - picking yourself up and making lemonade after getting lemons thrown at you will only make you stronger. Keep our mantra in your mind and "JUST DO IT!"

Vic, I've known you almost as long and even have met you once too. I wish you had come to me because I would have picked you back up from where that "friend" left you. I am ALWAYS here for you!! And I know there are quite a few cyber friends on this team that feel the same way. Stick with us girl and we'll keep you up....(singing...you've got a friend...ok, I know I don't sound anything like James Taylor. LOL!)

OKAY! I was knocked to the ground REALLY hard by a "friend" Now this is not litterally, but figuratively I am speaking.

I had a "friend" in "Blog land" - like online blogging at myspace and what not... who I have known for about 2.5 years... I have even met this woman in person one time too. she was a sweety. I NEVER would have expected her to turn on me the way that she did. It was like a blow to the back of the head with a 2x4. Her attack on me was so vicious... so personal and so UNTRUE... I ended up totally leaving "blog land" because of this situation. It ended up throwing me into a downward spiral this whole last week. I stopped trying... I stopped posting on all personal websites - including spark... I stopped wanting to go to my High school reunion... I stopped caring about myself and just hated life. I was sooooo unhappy and depressed.

But I have been gathering myself back up. picking up the peices - so to speak - I did not track my food or anything after the emotional tramma of last week. But starting tomorrow I will be right back again. I can't give up... I can't be a hater of life and let that bitterness dry up my bones and eat away at my heart...

so I'm back guys... hope you will keep me in your prayers if you're the prayin' type :)

thanks.

Take heart, Victoria! We ALL have our ups and downs and unplanned moments! I remember almost crying my first challenge because it was SO hard to try to do everything right! I loved how you picked yourself up and ate a healthy breakfast the next day and set your resolve anew. You CAN do it! We're rooting for you!

welp - yesterday was a bad day. I didn't get to work out AND I didn't have a healthy dinner.

It was a hectic day of getting things done and clean the house and make sure everything was ready for me to go out at 5pm. Had a Fostercare meeting from 6 to 9pm - I totally forgot to make something healthy before leaving - then I was going to take some healthy snacks with me - but totally zoned on that too. So I ended up driving to the place with a growling stomache and then ate what they had there - which was Cheese, crackers, cheesey popcorn, cookie... I didn't blow my calories for the day - cause that was my "meal" but it was an ultra unhealthy one.

Today will need to be MUCH better! I already had my 16 ounces of water. and a healthy breakfast of oatmeal and non-fat milk. So I'm off to a good start.

:)

Ya - planning is soo important. I planned out my meals for the weekend and then printed them up as Jannie had mentioned she did sometimes. It helped me alot. Although I did change a few things here and there - I didn't go too far off kilter and I kept my calories pretty close in the range I wanted to.

Good luck everyone! have a great week.

Good going, Victoria! Keep your eyes focused on the 20th year reunion - and keep pushing towards it. You CAN do it! You will have more successes!

I always have 2 large bottles of water in the fridge, right in front so that as soon as I open the door, they are there. As soon as I take one, I put another one in. Easy to grab -- now that I think of it -- that's a big key to success -- keep healthy snacks and water ready to grab when you're hungry so you're not tempted to grab the unhealthy ones. Don't they say it takes 3 weeks to change a habit? You are on your way!

Ya that resisting chocolate on Friday felt great. I didn't even want it like I did the day before.

Over the weekend I did good. had a fun meal - since my son had a Bday party to go to - he brought home some cupcakes. I decided to have one cause it fit my schedule since I had been being so good. I didn't feel guilty at all :) it was so yummy! no regrets.

The one area that is probably my greatest challenge is drinking the water. I just can't seem to suck it down. It's so difficult for me. I'm lucky if I can get 6 to 7 cups of it each day. I will have to try and do what Jannie does - 16 ouces right off the bat in the morning. Maybe that will kickstart my body to drink more through the day.

I am feeling good. Looking forward to my 20 year reunion coming this summer and fall. I want to look great for it :)

Woo hooo.

I had my treat meal lastnight which consisted of 1/4 shares of gourmet cupcakes. Tounge enjoyed them but tummy wasn't quite so happy. Glad to be back on the healthy food trail today.

I was successful today. No chocolate at all :)

Hubby put a chocolate down on my desk (that devil) but I told him not to tempt me so he took it back and ate it himself.

I'm so glad I was able to keep up with it today.

Will be working on core tonight. have lots of crunches to do. Hope you all will have a very nice weekend.

Tata for now :)

emoticon on the scale going down!!!

Winter is a terrible trick in this day and age. According to my Laura Ingalls Wilder books it seems that people gorged down after the harvest while the food supply was still fresh to prepare for the lean months ahead. That's exactly what we do at Thanksgiving & Christmas, we stuff stuff, stuff. Only technology, refridgeration and stores keep everything fresh for us to eat all winter long. It's hard fighting our natural instincts when plently is everywhere!

This week is almost over and a new fresh week lies before us. LET'S ROCK!

Today's a new day... full of chocolate for me to eat...

No no no NOOO! I am going to NOT eat any chocolate today.

Dispite the fact of my faulterings - I still managed to lose some weight this week. So that's a nice thing to know. I have cut my calories and I have done exercises. So rather than having the scale go up - it went down.

I know some of the weight was water weight and probably some lean mass but a little of a pound of it was fat! Woo hoo :)

195 - 43% fat - 83.85 fat

192 - 43% fat - 82.56 fat

Sweetie - Sugar is addictive.....plain and simple.
My body reacts horribly to it....once I get it past my teeth and onto my tongue....LOOK OUT....I turn into a ravaging monster....looking for more sweet.

It is a horrible state of existence to be in.

I went tanning today and that really helped me feel less ravenous. I think winter is a terrible trick nature plays on us.....
It's almost over......spring and SUNSHINE are coming - just around the corner....

Victoria -- we've all had our moments, that's for sure -- especially if it's that time of the month. I can remember many a time that I am counting down the hours or minutes that I will be able to eat again. And I'm telling myself while I'm eating that I will eat again in 3 hours, so I won't gorge on that meal.

-- I'll tell you, that's the best thing about eating 5-6 meals a day, because you're always within 3 hours of eating. Are you eating enough protein to keep you full? Are you eating 5-6 meals a day? If you're not, then that will send you into a feeding frenzy.

We're still with you 100% - keep trying and it WILL get easier.

Awww Vic,

Well, this wouldn't be called a challenge if it was easy. Right? We are all biologically fat & sugar addicts. We all have an innate need and desire to seek those things out. It came in handy for survivial when we were hunter gatherers but in a society where everything is as easy as a car ride down to the store...well, it's too darn easy to get. Heck we don't even have to make stuff ourselves anymore. Manufactuers have gone to all the trouble for us and even wrapped everything in pretty packages to entice us even more. They make this crap KNOWING we desire it, hunger for it and they profit from it. They are not in the business of feeding us, they are in it for the money. Plain as that.

Is there any way that you can throw everything out until you are able to gain better control of your cravings? Maybe a week? Lock it all away in the trunk of your car? A week might be enough time to cleanse your system and get your blood sugar under control. It's the insulin spike and drop that keeps us coming back for more, more, more. To add insult to injury, I find that insulin roller coaster makes me drepressed too.

Oh man...

Reading these posts made me feel bad. Especially Jannies... I did do good the other day on the Chocolate. But today? Well that's a whole nother story.

I caved... I caved big time. Ate at LEAST 8 chocolates. I just couldn't stop myself. One after another they just kept calling to me.

It's really bad when you sit there unwrapping it and eating it and think at the same time how you are gonna explain this to your weightloss group...

Ya I did that!! Have you guys ever been "cheating" and thinking of how you will have to fess up about it later? Most of the time that is supose to stop us from going further - but it didn't stop me today. I was ravenous with the chocolate.

I hope I will have better luck in the days to come. I truly believe I am a fat and sugar addict. I was craving it sooo much like an addict craves drugs. I think I'm in withdrawl from eating less fat than I have been in the habit of doing. Hopefully I'll get through this and start to feel satisfied with less fat and stop having such strong and overwhelming cravings.

nighty night.

I am SO ready for spring too.

We got some bad ice/rain down here too. Glad to hear you kept power, we still have ours. I'd hate to find out just how cold this house would get without electricity to run the boiler.

Super Great job stopping yourself with the chocolate. I totally have to avoid it except for my 1 free meal on the weekend. If I even smell chocolate it sends me into a frenzy. Like a shark sensing blood in the water. I'm just as bad with corn chips. The combo could easily send me into a food coma. LOL!

Keep up the great job Vic. It's so wonderful to have you back!

Victoria - You can find 'healthy' cookies out there....many are made by Health Valley Foods.
mmmmm.....whole grain, whole fruit, no fat or low fat....real nuts. MMMMMMMMM

Actually, you can replace anything you desire with a healthier version.

That's what I'm doing this year.
For years and years and years...that is how I lived and was extremely healthy and fit and SLIM.

I caved into only some of the TAF (Typical American Foods) and it did NOT do my body any good.

So...back to what I know works for me.

Have a great day...

How are you weathering the storm? We are getting mucho rain here in Virginia. You are not alone with your sore legs. Mine have been sore since I worked them on Monday. It didn't seem like I overdid it at the time.

it's 8:30 am and still have power - that's a good thing!!

We had our heat up to 75 last night as a precautionary messure cause last time we lost our electric it went down to 45 degrees in here.

I had a healthy breakfast and then set up enough to have the same meal for lunch today too. it was yummy - lettuce, spinach, eggwhites for protein, Yams/sweet potatos, Green peppers and onions.

I did my cardio yesterday - that was winding.

the day before I worked on legs - they still are sore today. Today I work on upper body. I'm sure my arms will kill me for a few days afterward.

But I'm doing it... I AM DOING IT.

Well day 3 is almost over and I have tracked everything. this food tracker - fitness tracker stuff. It's pretty cool.

Today was kinda hard. I was feeling hungry at a few points. I wasn't satisfied after eating my HUGE salad for lunch. It was more than enough but I wanted to stuff myself. BAD habit.

Well I am off and runnin - Hope we don't lose electric tomorrow. We have a big'ol storm comin'.

Wish us luck.

Victoria -- better to confess here rather than hiding it -- that will keep you accountable. If you're doing 3 free meals a week, I would just count it as one of your 3 free meals this week. I have had many rough patches, especially during my first challenge. They say it takes 72 hours to get the sugar out of your system, so you're probably still in that time period. Congratulate yourself that you limited yourself, too!

Keep plugging away -- baby steps, baby steps....one workout, one snack, one meal, one day at a time!! We are all cheering for you! Rah, rah, siscumba - go Victoria! (I felt like being silly!)

CONFESSION

I ate a Reeses Peanutbutter cup mini and a Chocolate chip cookie for my snack today...

That wasn't a good choice. It called to me... I couldn't resist.

I did hold back though... I was working next to my hubby (who shares an office with me) and he ate at LEAST 7 chocolates - Maybe more. All I kept hearing was wrapper after wrapper... I'm amazed I was able to hold off LOL

Well that's day 2 down - not too bad - not too bad :)

RIGHT ON!!!

Once you get used to your Nutrition Tracker...it is so easy.

Remember: you can input foods from other people if you know they have a recipe that you use a lot...
DS just got all my foods yesterday - since we eat similarly it was just so much easier for him to upload mine than to have to go through all the 'add' for himself.

This is going to be such a good year.
I'm back to square one as well.
The last quarter did NOT do my body much good.
I did gain muscle and tone, but also that other stuff that I will not mention or acknowledge...
No, I'm not ignoring it...just not recognizing it's place on my emoticon :o)

Okay - Now I'm up to date and ready to rock.

I spent hours working with the spark nutition thing and the exercise tracker - I got pretty well aquainted with it yesterday.

I tracked my food, water and exercise.

Took it a bit easy for the first day out. only did 10 sets of 10 for swiss ball crunches. Watched "In living Color" with hub as I did it.

Today will be a more serious work out. will be doing legs.

Drank 7 cups of water yesterday and that's a LOT for me - as for the past year or so I have been sparcely drinking it. 3 cups per day at most - and not even that much on many days. so of course with all that water - I was runnin to the bathroom TWO TIMES in the middle of the night! LMBO

Welp I'm off to get to work.

Alrighty - I will be posting my food to the food tracker here - I have never used the food tracker before so this is a new thing for me.

I used to use the Fit Day Program on my PC but Smiles has the guidlines for this challenge that we are to log the food tracker from SP only and not on the PC.

(why is this Terri? ) Anyway - I'll be doing this.

and taking my Before pix and measurements... EWWWWW I have gained a ton of weight.

It's time to get real here... I have gained every stinking Pound back! I will need to update all my spark page stuff. My pix my weight and everything. It's back to square one for me. :(

So here we go... as Terri says... the time will go by anyway - so why not do something good with it. right? right.

Peace out :)

emoticon1/3/09emoticon

Alright - I am feeling very overwhelmed right now. I am not metally ready for this.... I can feel the stress in my body - my tummy is feeling sick.

I have to try to psych my self up for this cause for some reason It's really hard for me to wrap my brain around the impending work out schedule that starts tomorrow!

HELP!! LOL

Okay - I got that off my chest.

I'm starting a new thread and gonna let the other one fall to the bottom...

Alternate Days Cardio / Strength Training

The weekly workout schedule will be:
3 days of cardio training
20-40 minutes ...
... with no more than 20 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

3 days of strength training
45-60 minutes...
Strength Day #1 = Chest, Shoulders & Biceps
Strength Day #2 = Back & Triceps
Strength Day #3 = Legs

Lighter weights (60-70% your normal max)
ie:
Normal Wt = 10#......60%=6#, 70%=7#
Normal Wt = 15#......60%=9#, 70%=10.5#
(half increments are not possible for me, but plate-mate or a similar product permits the addition of magnetic #'s that stick to your current bells)

Higher Reps - 15-20 reps per exercise

1 day of rest/yoga/pilates/stretch
(also include lots of stretching throughout the week ...
... rigidity is a killer (in both body and mind)

minimum 8 gl water/daily
minimum 7 hrs sleep/nite
4-6 small meals/day
sunshine and happy thoughts throughout
