Hello, I'm Darcy. Joined many years ago but have not made time to continue. Getting moving again today. Would like to work my way back to powerlifting but I know that will take some time.

Lifting weights is the only sport I've ever been any good at. It is the only one I've cared about. I joke with people that being a natural klutz, the weights hold me in place. :)

I have lifted in the past but was a bit of an experiment and didn't bother to learn, just did what I was told. I regret not learning more when I had the opportunity. Here trying to rectify that.

Happy to be here and working for consistency and lifestyle change.

Darcy

Hello! I'm Axzeria!
I am not new new as I started Dec. 2014 but I haven't been logging in and doing stuff on this website as much as I feel I should try. I am new to this group though!

My goal is to get into a healthier lifestyle and weigh 130lbs! I currently weigh 170lbs. I think I might have gained muscle? I've been working out for about 2 months 5/week but my diet hasn't changed much. People say I look better and that's all I want; to look and feel great.
I want to lose fat though. I bought XP2G Aftershock to help suppress my appetite and help lose fat. I've seen it work and I'm hopeful it will help. I believe I can reach my goal!

Hi everyone. I'm not new to SP but my goals have shifted. I was looking for a team that matched those goals, so here I am. History; In November 2010 I weighed 360 pounds. I put myself on a crash diet ( foolish ) and lost 170# by August 2011. 45 pounds of that was muscle. I wont go into all the metabolic and physical problems from being stupid but lets say it took a toll on me. First off in trying to regain muscle and level off my metabolism I gained back almost 20 pounds in a month, primarily water. Then I stayed at maintenance for 2 years at 205#. In March all that came under control and I began for my original goal of 185# with 10 - 15% body fat. Currently @190 and about 18% body fat. I abandoned my moderate strength training routine on the 4th of August. Heavy lifting, 3 days a week is now in place. I'm looking forward to interacting with everyone. emoticon

Hi everyone! My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds a few years ago and am about 110 pounds under my all-time high. With more than two years of maintenance under my belt, I think I can safely say that I can truly start shifting my focus from worrying about my weight to building and keeping up the best and healthiest body I can. I'm looking forward to learning from and sharing with everyone here.

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

I have exercised off & on mostly in the past 14 years after seeing how gross flabby skin is. Yes that's a skinny-fat, and you think I would learn from that. I always have to keep pushing myself, and so here I go again emoticon .

HELLO!! I'm excited to be apart of this team! I've been working hard on shedding the fat and buildin muscle. I'm now working with a personal trainer who's been body building for 10+ years. Along with working out with her, I also do kickboxing, running, yoga, biking, you name it....love to keep my self challenged and motivated!! I'm already seeing a difference in my body transformation and can't wait to see what else I can do!

Greetings everyone! Just joined the team. Fairly new to SP. I'm 49 yr old male and just getting back to the gym after several years off and a couple of low back surgeries. I let myself get into fairly poor shape (6', 205); after 5 mos of hard work, finally back to 185..just starting to get a bit of strength back. Now I'm ready to begin adding some muscle. I am a thin guy; I'm hoping to be able to put on some muscle. I know it's going to be a challenge at my age but I'm highly motivated. I'm looking forward to reading how others accomplish this. I always appreciate any input and feedback regarding nutrition plans and workout strategies.

New to Spark new to being out of shape. I need know how and motivation. I`m not happy with what I see in the mirror nor the recluse, I`ve become. I think Spark is exactly what I need to get in gear and giving it the gas.

Hi Guys and Gals!
My name is Matt. I am 41 (next month) and found this team as a possible inspiration. My story is similar to many of yours and like yours "no more excuses" I worked out and practiced what I preached in my late 20's. Got married when I was thirty; divorced when I was thirty one and the rest is history. I fell off my own pedistal and found comfort in the bottle. I am in sales and while I succeeded at my job I lost sense of who I was. I recently went to the doctors after 8 years for a check up and was told that I have metabolic syndrome; basically all the signs of bad health that lead to worse things down the road. I need to find that what was important to me years ago and get back up on the saddle. My current weight is #255 which is a far cry from my competitive weight of #187 such a short time ago; okay 12 years ago. I look forward to interacting with you and learning what works and what doesn't work. Please take a look at my page and offer some support or advice. I look forward to discussing your progress as well.

Take care!
Matt

Happy, happy, happy

Hi everybody! I am a newbie to this team. My name is Laurie. I have been lifting since high school, sometimes more seriously than other times, and now am going toward competing in masters bodybuilding instead of only fitness. I have a feeling that this journey will be challenging because I am now 43 and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005, but I am going to try anyway!! In my real life I am a RN and a group fitness instructor and I have a 14 year old dog named "montana".

I love the idea of this team, a community of experienced lifters, beginners and everyone inbetween!!

Hi. This idea of weight training and sculpting my body is very new to me.
Over the last 30 years my goal has always been to lose weight but I was never concerned with weights or training. I only seriously added cardio w/ circuit in the last 6 mo.

Yesterday however, I hired a trainer and am now understanding the importance of weight training to losing weight AND LOOKING GOOD.
I have a pretty good attitude right now and feel this may become a new way of life for me.

I'm a little worried about going into my first session this morning. I'm afraid I won't be able to remember everything I'm told or that I'll be embarrassed by my inability to do much of anything but we'll see how it goes.

Thanx for visiting my post.
:O)

Hello,

I don't know anything about weight lifting. But I am willing to learn. I am looking for the fastest results. The only suppliment that I am willing to take is whey isolate. For cardio I am running. So where should I start.

Hello. I am new to this team. I'm taking my life back and getting back into shape. 10 years ago i used to lift and circute train 6 days a week. Then we had our first son and life kicked in a didnt make time for it any more. I ballooned up to 419 pounds and I'm ready to get the rest of it off!!! I'm looking for positive teams to help keep me on track and focused on my goal.
I'm back on my old lifting and cardio routine and feeling better than i have in a long time.

My name is Lesli and I am 35. I lost almost all my weight (60 pounds) in 2004 using WW. I kept it off until we moved and i have to commute for 2.5 to 3 hours a day. I gained it all back with the out to lunch eating and total lack of exercise. That was 3 years ago. Lost 12 pounds last year and I am determined to lose 45 this year. I would like to lose 35-45 by June for my son's graduation.

I am currently trying to mostly eat whole foods with no sugar. I say mostly because I do eat a bagel now and then. I have lost 4 pounds since the start of january.

I work out at home on the eliptical and treadmill if it is raining or dark. I much prefer to going running outside. I did a few 5ks last year and I really liked the feeling of that accomplishment. This July I am doing a surivor run (like the warrior dash) with my sister and I need to really start working harder on the strength portion. I had to cut the gym membership but i am working out at home.

I am a mother of 4 and grandmother to 2. and I think that is about it. :)

Hello, I am a 46 year old grandmother of 3 and mother of 2. My goal is to get as fit as possible by the time I am 50 years old. I know that is a long time but I am in this for a lifetime not just for the next couple of months. So I am taking it slow. I have been lifting weights 2 times a week for the past couple of months and can tell a difference. Not necessarily in the mirror because I still have alot of fat on me. I can however see it in how much weight I can lift and how many reps I can do. I am excited to find a place where I can go and ask questions.

Hi everybody. I was seeing a trainer off and on for a year, but now I am training on my own. I have lost 30 lbs in the last year, and put on a good deal of muscle.I am trying to both train for running, and strength training. I have been overweight all of my adult life and decided that's not who I am anymore. Sparks has really helped me, and I hope to learn a lot from this Team.

I am Beth, 47 on Monday, and have 3 girls ages 22, 21, 12 (soon to be 13 - going on 30).....
Happily married love my life EXCEPT the food baby I carry around with me.... I don't distribute weight all over my body just in my belly and I always look pregnant..... so I have decided to lose the food baby slowly and keep it off. My goal is to keep it off for life... I know I can do it as I have done it in the past just didn't keep it off...... I will excercise more and tone up my body and give up eating a box (yes box) of goldfish in one sitting.............. and all other horrible carbs.... I will drink more water..... But I need motivation which is why I joined spark.... so I can read the blogs and see the pics of everyone else making progress.

Hey everyone my name is Josh. I am new to Spark People my wife told me about it. I am really trying to lose my gut. I am pretty strong I go to gym everyday and do the elliptical. I can't really run because I have a torn meniscus in my right knee and starting phiscal therapy, I possibly might have to have surgery but I hope not. My ultimate goal in life is to become a police officer. I also need to be able to make my breathing better because I have asthma. Just looking for a friend to help me out and some motivation cause I know I can do it.

Hi I am a long standing sparker. I have been creeping around spark strengthening team all morning....I am not new to weight lifting. Mostly use hand weights and stretchie bands. I had a pilates ball but my youngest boy loved it as much as I did. Getting another one soon. I am not the gym type. Tryed it. I have my own routine (no expert here.)Just came in for some support on my own journey and to make a couple friends along the way.

Only two weeks into the Spark site and have really enjoyed it so far. I have spent almost as much time here reading blogs, articles, etc., as I do working!
My goal is to basically lose weight and build up some muscle. I am currently spending 3 days a week on cardio in the gym and 2 days with full body workouts. Also am in the process of beginning cycling. Have been following the advice as close as possible and look forward to meeting other folks with the same or similar goals.

Hi!

I am new to the team and looking forward on getting started on my goals! I'm taking an "off" week currently as I am sick as a dog, but am prayerful it passes in time to start fresh next. I've purchased ChaLEAN Extreme and Turbo Fire so we'll see how it goes; BB.com products haven't always "WOWed" me in the past. I also struggle with doing the same thing for too long.

I'm looking forward to tracking some progress and meeting ppl along the way!

Hello,

New to SPARK!
I just ran a marathon and it's time to get huge. I love working out and setting goals. The thought of having a team behind me seems like more than enough motivation to achieve anything.

Hey, I've been active on SP just over a year now and am getting ever closer to the end goal and maintenance time, just over 20 pounds to go.

I go to the gym 5 days a week, usually Mon-Fri, for about 2 hours a day. Usually an hour to 90 minutes of cardio and 30-45 minutes of strength (4 days a week). I lift heavy and love strength training.

I tend to do solo stuffs, like elliptical, running, and mix up the routines a lot, varying intervals and resistances. Just started getting into Spin class for something different.

Looking forward to getting more buffed.

Welcome David! Your workout philosophy sounds good. HIT should keep the fat burning well. The team will enjoy hearing about your goals and progress.

Hi. My name is David
I've been playing around in the gym for the last couple of years, joined SP about a year ago.
I'm half way to my weight loss goal... but have been here for a long time. I like weight lifting a whole lot more than aerobics, so I'll start an aerobics program and then find myself back in the weights within 2 weeks.
I think I have finally formed a decent nutrition plan that will assist me - keep me gaining muscle and loosing fat.
I have also struck on a weight lifting regiment that I believe will aid in the fat loss. It's based on the "German Volume Training" (10 x 10 Set & Rep) except that I doing it in a circuit routine.
I'm working on a HIIT cardio program... because there's just no way around it.
I also have crazy bad knees - I'm talking that it is to the point that leg workouts make my right knee go out for the next couple of days. Needless to say, I'm trying to figure out how to build my legs and keep walking at the same time.
