Hi and welcome to the team! This is a great place for extra support as well as sharing information.

Thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I'm 57 and have been hiv positive for probably half my life. My first hiv test was July of 1984 and it confirmed what I already suspected. Too many of my friends were infected back then to think that I somehow wasn't infected, even if the cause wasn't determined back then. I suspect that I was probably infected earlier than 1984, but that was the first confirmation.
In the 27 years since then my health has mostly been good. I did have a major crises back in 1990 when I went into the hospital with PCP, shingles and a few other assorted problems. Glad to say that by 1990 they had figured out how to deal with PCP so it wasn't a death sentence.
Anyway, now I am looking to lose a few pounds, was at 177 at my high point and now at 157. Looking to drop about 10 more pounds and keep it off. I think Sparkpeople is teaching me the skills I need to get the weight off and keep it off.
Anyway, that's a bit about me.
