Thanks so much for the feedback!
I am going to try using both the FB and the HRM tomorrow at the same time and see what happens.
As for sleeping, I wouldn't be able to wear it anywhere but my wrist, so that's why I just made a different, thinner wristband and that is working well. It's during the day that bothers me as I'm afraid I will lose it. I may try leaving it on my wrist one day and see just what the difference really is in tracking once I have a good idea what the norm is. Guess and test...

Welcome to the team! The fitbit is a great motivator.

I wear my fitbit for all my workouts. It records the cardio workouts like the treadmill or elliptical just fine. For strength training (where there aren't many 'steps'), I log the activity as weight training to get a calorie count closer to the energy expended.

I wear the fitbit on my pj top at night rather than on my wrist. Seems to work fine.

welcome tiajean

I stopped wearing mine on my wrist. I clip it to my nightshirt when I sleep.

IAMHERE, the setting is on your dashboard under sleep. on your sleep section there is a small box here you can change it between normal and sensitve. I keep mine set at normal but when when I check my dashboard each, I change it over to senstive. As NHRUNNER said to you in an earlier message, senstive is used by those of those with real sleep issues so the majority use normal setting only

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? emoticon the setting is on the dashboard - click on the little flower button in the upper right hand corner, click on settings, device settings and then you can click either sensitive or normal in the sleep tracker. Hope that helps.

Hi Tiajean...I just got my Fit Bit this weekend also. i am still learning about it but the people on here are amazing and have lots of info. I have a question for you, though. Where is the setting for normal or sensitive? I wasn't given a choice. I have the FB one.

Thanks

Hi there!
I just bought my fitbit one on Saturday. So far so good. I do have a couple questions about it though. Does anyone know which is better to use for sleeping; normal or sensitive? And, I read somewhere someone suggested taking off the fitbit and just using their HRM when working out and then manually entering the workout, so that's what I've been doing. I was just wondering if you all had any other suggestions on how to get it to read properly during workouts?
I have found I do not like the wrist band that comes with it, so I crocheted a thinner one for myself that works much better and wish I could just wear it like that all the time instead of having to clip it on something else. I just didn't want to wait for the flex to come out.
