Welcome! I love my FitBit. I find myself looking for ways to take extra steps every day.

My husband was stationed at Laughlin AFB when we were married 20 years ago. It is a small base, and if you live on base everything is within walking distance. I know they have made some changes since we PCSed, but it isn't that big. Good luck.

have you tried getting up from your desk and just walking in place every hour or so.

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

Hi USMAWIFE,

I def take advantage of parking far, far, far away from the entrances to places, lol. I think my biggest downfall is that the majority of my day is sitting at my desk answering triage calls and documenting... whereas when I am up its only for short moments and then when I get home I am exhausted.

emoticon Kelly. one thing I am finding myself doing more of is parking at the very end of the parking lot and getting extra steps in that way. When I go to the grocery store, I just walk the aisles before putting groceries in my cart just to get extra steps in.

Hi everyone,

My name is Kelly and I currently live in Waco, Texas but will be PCSing next week to Laughlin AFB. I have had my fitbit for alittle over a month now and love, love, love it. However, I wanted to find ways to get more steps and work outs in my day which has been tough as I have been working fulltime and as a pediatric nurse am consistently tempted by goodies.

I have earned 3 badges so far with the fitbit (10000 steps, 50 miles, and 10 floors (have made it as high as 18) and try to incorporate some form of exercise in the evening when I get off from work in addition to watching what I eat. So far, I have gone from 112.4 to 110 and have toned up which is def the goal and I totally look forward to working with everyone on this challenge :)
