Welcome to our team Katie! So many great ideas on how to increase your daily step count. I try to keep moving every opportunity I get. Also the suggestion to "compete" with friends really does help! It pushes each person to do that little bit more to see their name higher up on their personal leader board. I would also suggest that you become friends with users who have higher step counts that you. This provides you with a goal to aim for.

I have had mine since June 2012. I wore it the first week and did my normal routines to set a base of where I was, then I started adding 100 steps a day, an extra 1000 steps a day until I built up to my current level. I would say find a way to get up and walk around the block, walk in place, etc., and continue to build slowly each day.

Hi Katie! Find a friend who walks about the amount you do and is also competitive! Become friends on the fitbit site and keep track of each other. My sister and I are frequently checking the site to see who is currently ahead in steps for the week. It's funny how many extra steps you can get in when you're trying to keep ahead of someone who is close to your level (or just above it!)
