Actually the calorie count is valid. Take a look at this BMR calculator and enter your information. Select the INACTIVE activity level and it will calculate how many calories a day you burn just breathing.

www.webmd.com/diet/healthtool-metabo
li
sm-calculator

When I enter my information it advises me that I burn 2088 calories per day or an average of 87 calories per hour. The trick is to use this information with your everyday food choices to make sure that you either stay within your daily caloric range, or, if you are attempting to lose weight, stay below it (within a reasonable amount, i.e., 500-750 calories per day).

if you are getting 500 in 5 hours that is great but remember if you went to bed earlier so some your sleep calories burned will be on the previous day

i average 550 in 7 hours of sleep. we do go to bed after midniigt

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? actually for those who go to bed earlier, it will start at say 11 when you go to bed and continue until when you get up if you go to bed early, look at your calories burned for the day then and say its 2200, buy when its synced for the day it could show 2300 that would be the diffrence for day then posted

it just resets at midnight

and also if you monitor your sleep it is going to show in the sleep section of how many times you woke up and your sleep habits

this however will not happen with the zip

First of all....congratulations and welcome to our team!

Your FB is much more than a pedometer. It takes into account your Basal Matabolic Rate (BMR) which are the amount of calories you burn EVERY single day just breathing. The calories you see on your FB when you wake up are the number of calories your body burned during the night (starting from midnight)!
With regards to getting your FB to sync to your iPhone here is the link from the FB page instructing you how to do so:

You might consider purchasing a safety harness for your FB so that you have another way of securing it to your body.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions/comments please post. You will find our team members to be extremely helpful!

To your first question, you burn calories even in sleep, so it's estimating how many calories you have burnt since midnight. I don't know the other, someone else will. Pam

while you sleep your body burns calories which is a truly normal thing

i know the directions for syncing your phone with the fb are on the Fb page so that you can see your information on the dashboard

I tried to search the message board for answers but I can't seem to find a direct answer. Sorry as I am sure you all have answered the same questions a lot. First off, why is the calorie count already started first thing in the morning before I even get out of bed (it was 532 this morning?) Also, how do I get my iphone to sync with my fitbit? It looks like it is loading the calories but not steps or stairs? So far I am enjoying mine and I just hope I don't lose it since it is so tiny haha.
