I don't "set" my Fitbit to do anything. As I walk around the house cleaning, doing laundry, fixing dinner, etc., it counts my steps. I do walk daily in a concentrated effort either inside the nearby mall, or out on the hike and bike trails near my house. My sewing/quilting room is upstairs so while I am up and down the stairs, it records "floors" for me.
I never feed it any extra activities. When it was new, I tried adding household chores, but it subtracted my steps when I did that, so I decided to just go with the step count for "exercise." That works for me.
I can normally get over 10,000 steps each day. I push to get at least 10 floors daily. I am thrilled each time I can rack up 5 miles. Usually I can hit the five mile mark about four times a week.
It is a marvelous incentive for me to keep moving. Best wishes .
