Wow that is an average of over 11K per hour! That Wii game must really have you bouncing around. On my best day I am able to reach 7K per hour walking in place but I generally average about 6-6.5k per hour.

I actually counted my steps for 10 minutes and the Wii was very accurate. Almost to the step. Don't forget the rhythm changes as does your pace then in response to the rhythm changes.

It takes me 2+ hours at varying paces. Some of the music is fast and some is slower. WIO varies so that you get bursts of more intense activity.

I used Wii Walk it Out for quite some time, and I always thought the WIO game would exagerate my step count. I can't remember exact #'s because its been a year ... but for an example... On my treadmill a casual laid back 20 minute walk is one mile or about 2300 steps. If I did 20 minutes on the WIO it would give m e like 4000 steps. I always felt like I was "bouncing" around more with the Walk It Out and it was over counting.
I'm gonna have to break out my game again! I used to enjoy it!

Let me clarify my statement, I don't mean on the knee. I mean on your hip with the FB directly above the knee. Also, for your 23K Wii walk how long did it take you to accumulate those steps?

Thank you for the advise. When using the Wii, I' m usually wearing shots and found that the best place for the fitbit is on my sock. That's when it is only about 7000 steps off on a 23000 walk. I haven't tried the knee though.

Welcome to our team Cheryl!
I find that if you wear your FB with heavier clothing while walking in place it does not register accurately. You may consider wearing the FB closer to your body (and directly over your knee). I find this to be the best place to wear the FB while walking in place.

Welcome to the team! I used to love doing Walk it out but found it bothered my knee. So now I go to the gym and use the treadmill instead. I got the Zumba gold live DVD for Christmas and found that I really like that because it's lower impact. Whatever you do, just keep moving :-)

I've only had my FB for a month and really enjoy it .... you walk ALOT !! Wow .... I noticed mine does not record my walk/jump on my jog trampoline ..... I usually just put my other pedometer in my pocket and adjust it ....

Good luck and may you have great success in achieving your goals.

Hi...my name is Cheryl. I've had my fitbit since May and use it daily. However I have problems with its accuracy. I do Wii Walk It Out. sincere I walk in place fb only reads about 1/3 of my steps. I find that frustrating. I've tried using it on my foot, in my pocket etc.

Anyway.....I'm 65, work as an RN in local hospital nightshift. I have a bad knee which is why I walk in the house mostly. It gets really irritated on rough turf. I used to walk my dog but she is very old and fragile now. So we don't go far.

I'm getting ready to try Zumba Gold. It looks like fun. And I just got the Step Twister. I even managed 29 steps.....lol. WIO I usually get at least 20,000 steps in daily but I've only been doing it two weeks.

I'm excited to be with Sparkpeople again after being absent for a year. This time I will succeed!

Blessed Be!
