Hi, I'm Norma and I just got my fitbit one today and I'm really excited about it. I've already been walking around in circles in my house. Looking forward to the warm weather. It's pretty cold here in Southern Idaho right now.

Ordered my FitBit One today since I learned I can sync it with my SP account. I can't wait for it to arrive. Until then, I'll lurk on the boards and learn. =)

Welcome to the new users. One of the social aspects of the fitbit, on the fitbit site that I really love is one of the groups that is virtually hiking the Appalachian Trail. I'm having a lot of fun with that. If anyone wants more information on how to find the group let me know, as the groups don't have a search which is frustrating on the fitbit site. I've also gotten about 23 friends on fitbit now, and a leaderboard shows up on my site showing how we rank against each other. If you right click on someone on your board on your page you can send them a short message, and so we have been challenging each other. It really has gotten me moving more.

Hello! I'm Eva and I got a fitbit zip for Christmas. It's keeping me on track and reminding me that even if it is cold outside I need to get up and MOVE!

So now that I've pretty much found my way around my dashboard I'm ready for the more social aspect of it.

Hi all. I started using the Fitbit back in November. So far, so good! I've lost five pounds since I started using it! Trying to look into the more "social" side of things now.

Hi all- I received the Fitbit One for Christmas and let it sit in the box for a few weeks. I workout already and didn't know how I was going to like it - but I really, really like it. I like monitoring my sleep and agree each day I want to see that little flower grow taller.

I haven't experienced any problems at all in the week I have used it. Syncs up fine and seems to be right on. I don't mind that it might count other activity for steps - I think any activity is ok with me.

Good luck to everyone- I am sure most people will get what they personally want from it.

Welcome, all! From Canada, I purchased the FitBit from the Apple Canada Store.

Before purchase, I had read reviews that these types of tracking devices are glorified pedometers. At the price of personal training, I think that money spent on a device is well worth it -- so i am willing to give this a try. Also, every time I had to replace batteries on an Omron pedometer, the one pedometer that I liked and trusted, it was $15 (they lasted about 3 months) -- and there was no online tracking.

So, it is great to join the Team, and I wish all of you success in 2013. emoticon

Hey Fitbit Users!
I just started using my fitbit today, and I'm already inspired by the data to move more! It has been really interesting amassing so much information on myself via sparkpeople, from food and activity tracking to nutritional graphs and energy level check-ins. I guess the tricky part is figuring out how to use all this data to instigate change!

Hello fellow Fitbit users. My name is Cyndi. I have only had my fitbit for a couple of weeks now and just getting back into exercise and being active on Sparkpeople. I have been a member of SP for a few years. I lost 74 pounds but have gained 50 back so now is the time for me to get back the life I know I can have.
I want those pounds gone and never to return!

@Hlthylvn-- I noticed that my fitbit counts crunches as steps. I had it on my bra, so next time I'll see if it does the same thing in my poket.

Interesting question. Since I swim I don't have that confusion. I did add "ironing" one day in the dashboard as it didn't track the steps I took sideways and I ironed for 1.5 hours!

Hello, I just got my Fitbit Zip connected. Do you think it is more accurate to track exercise by NOT wearing the fitbit --such as any floor exercises, weight lifting etc? But wear it all other times? Thanks for advice!

I like the idea of clipping it to your socks for some activities. I'm really amazed at how much I am (and am not!) moving around, and people are right! I really do want to get up and move around more just to see that number go up and the flower grow. I'm haveing some syncing issues right now, but it may be my computer. It's ancient. I'll keep playing with it and see what I can do.

Thanks Linda! I might have to try hooking it on my sock, good idea. I really like Leslie's video its easy to follow but still challenging. I do think I overdid it today, though. Its such a fine balance with my fibro. The extreme cold snap we have in MN right now doesn't help either.

Hi Lilly and welcome. I have noticed that when using my stationary bike that it doesn't pick up the equiavlent amount of steps that I think it should. I know it's not going to pick up all the miles the bike does, but thought it should pick up for each time I push the pedal forward. I found when I clipped it to the hem of my shorts that I wear on the bike it helps pick up more. I've also heard some clip the fitbit to their shoes or socks for some activities that it doesn't pick up as well. Hope this helps you get more steps measured when doing this like the walking in place with the dvd, or sometimes sideways motions or other things. I had the same thing with a pedomert. Leslie Sansone DVDs are really great!

Hello fellow Sparkers! I just ordered my FitBit One and it will be here Wednesday. In the meantime, I set up my fitbit.com account and can't wait to get started syncing!

Does Spark have a Group out on Fitbit? I don't have time to scan through over 4000 groups, page by page to see! Can't believe that site doesn't have a group search..... duh!

Hi, I am new to SparkPeople. I started the Fitbit program through my work to be able to be healthier and motivate me to work out. I am 46 and I am overweight. I am more concerned about my overall health than I am my weight. I have Fibromyalgia and I have to be careful about how much I exercise or I will throw myself into a flare. I am frustrated today because I worked my way up to two miles on my Leslie Sansone Walk at home "Walk Slim Fast Start & 3 Fast Miles" DVD and it only registers as 2420 steps on my Fitbit Zip. I understand there is about 2000 steps in a mile so why is my Fitbit steps so low?

I am a new fitbit user. Not sure how it all works. Been using for about a week. Trying very hard to stick to filling in food intake. Weight has already gone down and up again. Yesterday was the first day I went over on the food intake. I was just so hungry. I think the water intake is making the most positive influence on my weight loss.

Hi all, I have had my fitbit for about a month now and am totally loving it. Was skeptical as it was a benefit from work with their health and wellness program. That whole thing is a very long story but it has gotten me off my proverbial "butt" and enhanced my weight loss program that I started last September. I have lost 50# and have become a health coach with the program I am involved with. Since I am a Critical Care RN, this fits into my long term goals of having something when I look forward to retirement from bedside nursing in the next 5 years. Am actually anxious to hear more about the new "watch band" fitbit coming out in the spring of 2013. emoticon Thanks for the welcome and I'm glad I figured out how to synch my fitbit with my Sparks...

Hi Everyone!

I just got my Fitbit yesterday. I am a total gadget geek, so I am really excited to see what my day looks like today. The sleep pattern from last night was really interesting. Have a 6 mile run planned for today and I will be interested to see how it compares with my Garmin.

Anyway, excited to be here! I have been on Spark since 2007 and have lost about 60 lbs. I managed to gain some of that back, so back to losing mode! I just started training for my very first marathon which barring no more injuries I will complete in May.

Thanks for having me!

I won the Fitbit Ultra on a contest right before Thanksgiving, LOVE it!!! I knew I was sitting around alot, but boy when you see it on the screen it's motivating! I have lost several pounds and my legs are much more toned. Today we walked for an hour and a half on sandy beach in high winds and I feel fine, legs aren't achy or tired at all, and I still came home and bounced on my mini trampoline to make up my daily goals. :)

Hi all! I just got my Fitbit one yesterday and I'm still figuring it out. But I'm going to try it out while I'm sleeping today, (I work nights), And wear it in to work tonight. Is there a way to zero everything out and start fresh? When I got it there were already steps and calories burned registered on it.

I'm looking forward to using my new toy and seeing my progress.

HI I just started back to taking care of myself. My family and some close friends have started a biggest loser challenge and I choose to use Spark and Fitbit as my tools to help me with this challenge. This week starts week 3 and I have done little to change what I normally do, just to see what my "normal" is. I am ready to add some exercise class or time at the gym to see how things go. I love having the fitbit to help me keep moving.

Happy, healthy walking to all.

Thank you for the kind invitation to join the Fitbit Users Unite team. This is my third day using the Zip. It's pretty much fun. I had been using SW200 that I ordered online from pedometersusa.com, but I found it often was getting stuck and not counting steps, at times only about 40% of them, and that did not make me happy. The Zip seems to consistently count, and it is a lot easier to get my 10K steps/day for that SP team.

I just received my fitbit One today! I am so excited to start using it and letting it help motivate me. I am glad that it will sync with this account. I just wish it would also sync with my Netdiary app. All the same, I have another tool to see my health improve and start living my life again.

Thank you all!

Hello! I just used my Fitbit for the first time today. I used the money I received from Christmas to buy it. Today, I walked 2.5 miles during lunch time, plus I will work out tonight. So, lots of steps today. Too bad, with a cold front coming through, I probably won't be able to go out next week. But today was perfect, and I really enjoyed the sunshine on my face.

I am so excited to read your post! I just ordered my FitBit Zip from Amazon and cant wait for it to get here! I thought that I would get the zip first before deciding if I should get the more expensive one! My anniversary and birthday are coming up so will start dropping not too subtle hints!
Will let you know what I think once it arrives :)

almost noon I had forgot to put my fitbit on this morning . I did not sleep well last night and got up and just so sluggish. Got to definitely shake that off !!

To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person that you are. Be true to yourself and enjoy life.

I bought the FitBit One as a post Christmas present to myself. I love it! It is very motivational. I take the stairs every chance I get to I can record it. I am also amazed at how it tracks my sleep patterns. No wonder I am so tired in the morning. I had no idea I was waking up so much throughout the night. The diet and exercise part I am pretty clear how to address those issues but does anyone have ideas how to sleep with less "wake ups"?

Greetings fellow FitBit Users! I purchased a FitBit Zip from Amazon and wore it all day today, still have it on actually. I was extra motivated to walk as much as I could because I couldn't wait to see how my steps were racking up. There's no greater challenge than the challenge one sets for oneself! My only disappointment is that the FitBit Zip does not have the capacity to count stairs and stair climbing at work is a enormous part of my weekly step count. So my next challenge is to budget so I can upgrade to the more expensive FitBit One and get access to all the perks of a personal tracker.

I attract to me the LOVE that I AM!!
