I am on my 2nd fitbit. I upgraded to the Flex and love it. Unfortunately I do not get my steps in on most days. I have a sedetary job and between 10 hours days and raising my 2 granddaughters (3rd and 7th grade) . I need to carve out more time for myself, but can't figure out how to get the energy to get up early enough to exercise.

Hello! I just got my Fitbit Zip connected. I also have a SP tracker but have so many issues with getting it to sync. I actually think I will try to wear both for about a week and see which is more effective/accurate. Any opinions?

Every day may not be good but there is something GOOD in every day!

Hello all,

I am new to FitBit. I have the Charge. I am a little confused on how to use the device since i want to get an accurate reading. I try to keep my arm still so I do not mess up the accuracy. Do you wear it all day? Do you just exercise and it automatically records it or do you change the setting?

Greetings! I've had a Fitbit for about 6 months and use it sporadically. This group will help me be more consistent and use it regularly. I am just finishing up vacation and walked 30 miles in three days last week. Unfortunately that much walking hurt my back and caused sciatica. So I'm starting off with smaller goals moving forward. No more than 10,000 steps per day. Will see a doctor if the pain persists.

I've been on SparkPeople since 2012. I got my fitbit yesterday and am excited to use it. I had serious foot surgery on November 3 and am just starting to put weight on my foot again (still using the one knee scooter and easing into crutches). I'm excited to get started with the fitbit!

Hi everyone! I've been on and off spark for a few years now. Just recently got back into it when i got my fitbit mid November. I absolutely love it. I'm actually considering giving my flex to my mom and getting the new chargehr. I've been fighting off a flu bug so it's been really difficult seeing how few steps I've been taking. Can't wait to get healthy and get at it again. Would love some fitbit friends to do challenges with!! www.fitbit.com/user/2Y5DR2

Hi I am sasha an I bought my fit bit in august and now am getting ready to graduate in a couple of weeks from nursing school and will be starting to work more hours on the floor as a nurse so I am pretty excited about that but I need motivation to stay moving when I am not working such as when I am at home and not stay on the computer when my kids are in school. I love to do the fitbit challenges so if you want to add me or invite me do so please.
Have a great day and I appreciate all the motivation and positive vibes from all and will give back all positive as well. I hate when people are negative and critical of others we are here to have fun.

Hi. I am new to FitBit and SparkPeople and could use some friends, lol. I joined fitbit after my job posted a fitness challenge and I was asked to lead the team in my dept. I like fitbit (even with the quirks) and have found it easier to use then carrying my cell phone everywhere I go.

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Hi, I am back to spark people after a while and got a fitbit to help keep track of steps and distance gone. I have had it for a few months but no friends( not sure how to work it lol). I am 26 and have over 150lbs to lose

Tried several fitbits found them to not be accurate. Will stick with using map my walk which is accurate and phone for fitness accuracy. Don't know why all of you don't realize this about product. Tested several and am perplexed when stuff is popular when shouldn't be and is a waste of money.I also read what the experts say on pedometers. So I found fitbit waste of time and money not well spent.

Hello everybody. I got my fitbit about a week and a half ago, but spent half that time sick in bed. My numbers are no where near they should be, but I will get there. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I find it increasingly difficult to get my steps in, especially in this cold weather.

Hi just got a Fitbit flex yesterday and figuring out how to use it properly, it says I should do 10.000 steps a day but guessing I will do around half of that to start, but don't know how to change the fitbit so I guess it will say I am failing for quite a while haha

Hi, I'm Sarah and I'm newcomer to SparkPeople and an avid Fitbit user. I began walking a couple of weeks ago and have a daily goal of 4 miles and 10k steps but generally average 5+ miles and 12k steps by day's end. I've had the device since October and have been increasingly motivated to move more as a result.

I'd like to start running and cycling. Fitibit is providing the encouragement and inclement weather stamina I need to master both. It's great to connect with you all!

I'm totally a bunny! I used a One for a year, then switched to a Flex about a year and a half ago. Lately I've been trying to get 10K steps, 4miles, and at 30 active minutes per day. My wife also has a flex, and she almost always gets more steps than I do, but I do aim to even that up!

Just got a fitbit. So far, my 6 year old has tried it, and had a far more active day than usual! II hope feedback will provide the impetus I need to be more active and healthy. In the last year, with disciplined eating and regular exercise, I have dropped 1 pound! Clearly I need to do more.
Cheers,
Sal

Hi - Diana from the UK; mid-60s and still working in Special Ed.

Brand new to the fitbit and my aim is to keep the step count up through the Winter, when I can't get outside as much.

Looking forward to getting to know you. emoticon

Good morning, everyone! New user here, just signed up yesterday to SparkPeople and learning the ropes. I had an older fitbit, just got back on track with a Flex, and decided I might do better with some outside support rather than going it alone.

I'm 43, and in New Orleans, the land of amazing but unhealthy habits and newly an "empty nester," so I'm eager to focus on my own health and habits.

I look forward to meeting everyone, and if you want to connect on fitbit, here I am: www.fitbit.com/user/23BRG4 !

good morning everyone. I've gotten my fitbit one in July, and the only time I'm not using it is when the battery needs charging. I have spark synced to my fitbit so all food logged here goes directly into my fitbit log. https://www.fitbit.com/user/23BM63

HI everyone!

I'm new to this team, although I've had my fitbit since April. I'm a teacher at a residential facility in Ohio and am currently trying to get my weight down to 200 lbs. I'm following the Mayo Clinic Diet and am eating a 1200-1500 calorie range.

Hello! My name is Linda. Single - no kids, two dogs - teacher. My goal is to loose 300 pounds. Yeah ... I said, three hundred. So far I am 1/6th of the way there ... just 250 more to go. The Fitbit helps me greatly by helping me to set goals. Love my Fitbit One.

I've don't ever remember being "skinny". all my kid pictures are of me overweight. This is a new journey as at 49, I am back to the weight I was in my senior year of high school. Each few pounds I take off I know what year I was in school. I am meeting a person I don't know in myself and its exciting as well as a little scary! lol

I choose to sparkle!

HI, My name is JO. I've had my fitbit for a couple of years. I wear it everyday all day. I am 66 years old and was rather immobile until I got it and discovered sparkpeople. I have mobility problems so wear my fitbit on my sock and track all my chair marching everyday. On a day that I'm super busy caretaking my parents I only log 4 to 5000 steps because there is no chair marching. But on a day at home focused on me I run between 8 and 10000 because I get time to concentrate on me. I love MMROPG games, crocheting and baking. I'm always looking for ways to give away something I tried to bake.

My fitbit comes off only to shower. I try to remember to charge it when I go to bed. I just discovered that I can sync it with Spark. Yea can't wait to see how this works and I never even thought about looking for a fitbit team. WOW

Aloha from Hawaii!

I just got a Fitbit for my birthday and I found Sparkpeople to be a nice way to round out my goals and tracking.

I haven't decided on my steps goal, but tracking my sleep has proved insightful.

Nice to meet you all!

I've been emoticon Walking through the Missouri woods with Grandchildren..
7 year old reported, "I bet this path was made by Indians" (Tribe: Corps of Engineers)
emoticon sniffed out a mouse, and killed it. (I figure if my city dog could catch it, it was already sick or injured)

Glad I am a healthy enough 'grandma' to take them on this adventure!! emoticon
