Hello my name is Elizabeth and I use the Fitbit one. I love it. I got it about a year ago and use it everyday. I was so glad to receive mail from group leader as soon as I linked it up. Once figuring out how to use the forum I signed up. I am sure I will enjoy this group very much.

Hi! My name is Courtney and I got my FitBit Flex last week for my birthday! I had given one to my dad for his birthday and he loves it so he got me one too!
I really like how I can link my nutrition from SparkPeople since I had a lot of groupings stored of recipes that I consistently make. That makes it so much easier to track food! My daily goal is 30 active minutes and I found that yesterday I walked up 9 flights of stairs to my apartment instead of taking the elevator just to make sure I reached that goal!!!

Hello,

My name is Sharlene and I have had my fitbit flex since May! I just recently came back to Spark people and that's when I realized I could connect my fitbit to my profile. How convenient is that!! I have a long road ahead of me but I did just recently bump my fitbit daily goal from 5000 steps/day to 7500 steps/day which is a big deal for me. So off I go.

Hi I'm Cheyana I got my Fitbit One in May and I absolutely love it! I didn't realize there was a group here for Fitbit users! Good luck to everyone on your daily goals! :-)

Hi, I'm Allison and my family just got me my fitbit yesterday for my birthday. I'm looking forward to using this new tool to help me with tracking my movement and keeping me more aware of it. I've been on Sparkpeople for about a year. I've lost some weight and have maintained keeping that off. Trying to lose slowly but surely!

Howdy y'all, I'm Alison & I am neither new to SP nor to Fitbit, but am finally getting around to posting to the group emoticon I usually just enter in my food/water/etc & don't get on the message boards much. I am trying to make a better effort to do so, because I do realize the benefits of sharing/having fellowship in the struggle of getting healthier. I've been trying to lose about 100-120 lbs since 2009 & have had bouts of doing really well, then slacking off & gaining back some. I've also had 2 pregnancies during that time where I did not focus on my weight. Currently, I am about 45 lbs into my 120 lb goal, & am hoping to at least be in one-derland by my birthday in Feb. I'm a SAHM, so finding time to exercise isn't always easy, but I am making a better effort to get it in. Already 2,500 steps beyond my 5,000 step goal today & it's not even close to bedtime yet, so woohoo for that! Anybody in the Charlotte or NC area in this group?

Hi! I'm Michelle. I was on Spark for several months, then just kind of quit using it. But that was quite a while ago, and a lot has happened. I had a Gastric Bypass in Dec 2011 & lost almost 100 pounds and maintained the loss until Feb of this year, when I had a knee replacement with complication that kept me from exercising until August. I'm proud to say that I "only" gained about 10 pounds and I'm back to get it off. Love my new FitBit! Since the first day it has been a great motivator! I will post my fitbit URL later today, & I'll be adding friends to mine as well. I'll be glad to encourage anyone along this journey, I did a lot of research on nutrition before and after Gastric Bypass, and I'll be glad to help anyone wanting info on that as well. I have before and after pix on my Spark Page. It's a big commitment., but I'm glad I did it.

I am currently at 228 lbs. It will be hard but my goal right now is to be below 200 lbs by the end of the year. At the latest by my birthday in February. What a cushion huh? lol

Hi my real name is DEE but that was taken..lol I am just now returning to SP, I have also connected my Fitbit to SP. I LOVE my Fitbit, my friends on Facebook got together & bought me one.. I am so blessed with great friends & a great support group. I am 58 & I was just approved for weight loss surgery. BUT I am gonna try doing this the natural way with exercise & changing my eating habits. I am also starting to do juicing.. I have seen a remarkable loss already & it's only been one week!.. I'm glad to be here & will try to remember to check in each day..

I AM going to be able to do this with God's help.

I'm not a new Fitbit user, but I lost my original one in July and just got a new one and think I've got it set up to record again. Also not new to SP but haven't been able to get back to where I want to be with weight loss and exercise so guess this is a new start for me.

Good day to you all!

My name is Terrill White and I am 36 yrs old. My last official weigh-in on Friday put me at 312. Last year, on June 28, I weighed 350 pounds and decided that I had to do something about that. I started eating better and walking, walking, walking. I even walked several 5k's. By November I was down to 275 but holidays and several other stressers happened and I started putting the weight back on. Here I am again. Trying to get it off. I'm trying to get really serious about it now because I have 13 and 4 year old daughters that I would like to see grow up and I have a wife that I would like to stay alive for. I need as much encouragement as I can get and so I have set up a facebook group that some of my friends have joined where we cheer each other on. We just started it last week but if others want to join, they are more than welcome ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/team
be
llybusters/ ).

I am currently a project director for the Tribal Teen Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) at Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. I specialize in teen pregnancy and STD prevention education. My wife and I just bought our first home in Muskogee, OK (yes, I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee) and have the aforementioned 13 year and 4 year old daughters. We also have a cat named Lucky and a bearded dragon named Ziggy. We attend Muskogee First Assembly of God ( www.m1a.us ) where I am in charge of social media and also work with the tech crew and sing in the choir. I enjoy Southern Gospel music and also enjoy listening to Michael Buble. I also enjoy mowing my yard but hate weeding my flower beds so some of those are being turned back into portions of my yard! haha

My goal for now is to once again get below 300 and then we will go from there.

Hi! I'm Elise.
I just rejoined Spark and saw that I could link my FitBit with it and thought that it was great! One less thing to manually track! I love seeing the steps daily and love the feeling of accomplishment when I pass 10,000 in a day!

Hi, my name is Andreja and I'm new to fitbit. I linked it with SparkPeople a couple of days ago but then decided to un-link it as Spark shows way too many caloried burned. Otherwise, I love it so far, it keeps me accountable and motivated!

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda and I just set up my Fitbit yesterday. It was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend last year. I wasn't able to use it because the job I was previously at had strict rules in regards to bringing personal electronic devices into the building. Now that I'm working in a normal office setting, I can wear it, and wow it is a neat little machine! Can't wait to use it to it's full potential.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Hi Karella! I have found that putting my Flexbit One in my pocket works great in keeping track of steps. I started out attaching it to my bra but didn't like the fact that it would poke thru my material. Not flattering for sure. I hate to say this but the thought of me attaching it to the top of my pants causes much discomfort do to the fat overlay of my stomach. Does anyone else have this problem that needs to be eliminated?!?! But I won't let this stop me from achieving my goals and I hope everyone feels the same way. We can do this!

Hi Jocelyn.

I just rejoined SP today. My fitbit has done much either. Between Asthma, allergies and a bad ankle injury in January it has been a rough year. Let's do this together.

I am going to be like Nike, and JUST DO IT!

Hi. I have had my fitbit zip for awhile but haven't been able to do much since January. Tore my Achilles and some other ligaments in my ankle and it has been a long healing process. Still not done. There is still a possible surgery in my future, but I can't just sit here any longer getting fatter by the minute. So I will be taking it very slow.

I just rejoined SP today again to help me keep track that way as well. Looking forward to a healthier me.

I am going to be like Nike, and JUST DO IT!

Hi all,

I've been slacking for so long and need to get my butt in gear. Sadly, my Fitbit hasn't gotten many miles logged, as I work from home and this summer has been TERRIBLE for my asthma and allergies, making even walking or biking a chore. I'm on new meds and the weather should be settling into Fall soon, my favorite time to be active, so it's time to get myself going again! I just wish SP connected with MapMyRun, since that's what I use for biking, but I guess some manual entry will be ok :)

I just got my FitBit One on Saturday, but I've been looking at them for several months. I'm still playing around with it a little, determining where is the most accurate and secure place to wear it (not my bra, apparently - it recorded 370 steps while I was a passenger on our little country road). Right now, it's tucked inside my waistband and giving me an idea of what my baseline is for an average workday. It's at 2,170, so I obviously have a lot of room to improve.

Hi, I just got my fitbit yesterday and today I decided to just go about my usual routine to see how many steps I actually take a day. I work at a desk job where I am at the computer for 8 to 10 hours a day will little break. Today I worked from home and at 6:30 at night only has 680 steps. When I go to office at least have to walk in to my desk. But starting tomorrow I am beginning a whole new life which includes getting up and moving, drinking more water and taking care of me.

Hey team!

Christine here. I'm in the not sunny, not nice, North Dakota. I'm not new to SparkPeople, but it's been a lot of years. Was on another site, but missed this one, so came back. I have a fitbit zip and love challenging myself to hit my numbers. I've been on track for quite some time and recently I *hope* getting a thyroid issue figured out. I'm powering through and slowly seeing some progress with diet, cardio and strength training. The only thing that stinks is the lack of steps that strength training earns you. Ha! :)

Hi, team! I purchased my Fitbit using Recognition Points I earned at work. I usually use the points for shoes, but I've recently rededicated myself to living healthy, so this seemed the smarter choice. Several of my coworkers have a Fitbit and I've heard nothing but good things. I like having the visual reminder sitting on my wrist.
I joined SparkPeople back in '09 and lost about 35 lbs, but when I visited my doctor earlier this year, I saw the proof on the scale that I had let myself slowly slip back into bad habits. This is my last year in my 30's, and I want to enter my Fabulous Forties feeling great about myself.

What you do every day matters more than what you do every once in a while.

Hi to all! I was gifted with a Fitbit Flex tonight by my amazing daughters. I was really excited as it is something I have been wanting to get. I just set it up and then synced it here to SP. I am really looking forward to seeing how it all works out in the morning lol.
I have been on SP for a couple of years, and absolutely love the encouragement and motivation I have found here.
I live in Southern CA, near the town of Lake Elsinore.
Looking forward to getting to know some new Sparkfriends, and glad there is such a great community of active Fitbit users here. I know where to turn if I get confused, lol.

Have a great night!

Becky

Hi Everyone,
My name is Lexie, and my Fitbit Zip arrived this morning. Been playing with it all day, and watching the little face change according to what I did or didn't do, which was really cute. I struggle with a variety of health issues that can rather knock me sideways at times, so the Fitbit is a gift to myself for 300 consecutive days of walking a mile a day with Leslie Sansone for my fiftieth year. My MaD year. :-) Only 65 more days to go till my birthday and I can finally sit down.

I live in the UK - Colchester to be precise. A beautiful town, the oldest recorded in Britain. We have a couple of lovely parks within walking distance where I can test my Fitbit (now named Zippy - what else?) out.
Good to meet you all, and thanks to those of you who have already friended me on the Fitbit website. :-)
Hugs,
Lex xxx

Hi FitBit Team. Although not new to SparkPeople, I am new to FitBit. I am from Washington State (not DC), and live in Vancouver USA (Not BC and not Portland Oregon) - yes, we in the 'couve have a bit of an identity crisis. My goal is to walk my 10,000 steps a day, which is challenging when you work at a desk job. I know, excuses excuses. I am being involuntarily retired very soon, so I hope that me and my Schnoodle can reach our 10,000 step goal more often in the very near future. Go Seahawks!

Hello everyone, my name is Nate. I am new to the group so let me address the questions for new members. How am I doing, I would say that I am going great. I live in North Carolina but I am originally from Chicago. My fitness goals with my Fitbit are to see how many steps can I get to in a day. Currently, I have 23,000 steps in one day badge. How did I hear about Fitbit, I work for BCBSNC and the organization was giving them away so I took one. The rest is history. Let’s enjoy the ride…oh, and by the way, I do love my golf.

Hi team! Been on Spark for 4 1/2 years now. Reached my goal weight and all was well until I had a foot issue (or two) that required surgery. Twelve pounds later, I knew I needed to do something to reignite my spark. Someone was explaining their footnote to me at a Spark Rally, so yesterday, I bought and set mine up. Liking it a lot so far and anxious to learn more. Looking to add friends as well, but not sure how.

Hi, I'm Kat. I've had my FitBit since the beginning of the year, but am new to SparkPeople. I've been using my FitBit to help me move a bit more, but I'm finally ready to get some real use out of it!

I got a Fitbit for Christmas last year. I didn't like it too much at the time but now I'm loving it. I like having a goal of getting my steps in daily. It makes me want to move more throughout the day. I also workout at home. So once my workout was done I moved less during the day. I have 2 friends on my Fitbit but I could use more😀

Just got my fitbit yesterday and wearing it today. Have worn a pedometer for last couple of years and after losing my 2nd one decided to "bite" the bit. Have been on SparkPeople since 2009 I think. Finally got serious and dropped 20 useless pounds this year after following fatloser.com link. Have kept it off for the last 3 months and ready to tackle 10 more. Will probably restart fatloser.com regime (21days) to kick it off.

I love SparkPeople and have many amazing friends. Happy to join this team.

Hi I am new to Sparkpeople and i joined because i like to run and keep fit but sometimes i lose motivation. Earlier this year April i ran a 10k for the 2nd time and i felt a lot fitter for doing it. but since then i have lost momentum. Anyway someone told me about the fitbit flex and how it can motivate you. check out what others are saying about it if you are undecided like i was. emoticon

Bravo Pat. I just bought my Fitbit a week ago and like you I have to lose the weight I have gained. So far my Fitbit has been quite a motivator. I enjoy walking everyday and if you want to be challenged visit the FITT site. I love it.

Tic toc, Tic toc, walk faster around the block.
