oh this is wonderful! I also think there are a bunch of people on the Spark Activity Tracker team, that have a bunch of various trackers. I think Fitbit was one of the firsts.

I hope to figure out how to use all it's features and dashboard. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my cousin on. emoticon

Welcome. I'm totally addicted to my Fitbit. No movement unless it's on! I've had pretty good success with my Fitbit always syncing. I like to make sure I collect all of my steps!

Mornin-- just joined the Fitbit One today! I am excited to start! I bought the Jawbone and that was an epic 'fail'!!! would not sync to anything I owned not even sparks!

The fitbit one synced immediately to everything! Woohoo!

Now to get started with my goals and steps!

I guess Spark joined me here today. I finally figured out how to get linked on Spark. I think the stats will come later. I have had my Fitbit since January . I went through two Spark Activity trackers. Both got lost.

I'm trying to learn this system.

I was getting off track because alot is going on now for me. We will be moving, as soon as we get the call. Also caregiving for mom and activities. emoticon

To sync your fitbit with SP go to the bottom of the fitness tracking page and at the bottom of the page there is a connect devices choice. Click on that and you should be able to sync them. emoticon

Hi, I am 67 and am trying to get more active. I am not too sure how to sync my FitBit with SP so I hope it all works out. I did about 13000 steps today and I sure know it!. I live in southern Ontario so I look for an indoor place to walk during the winter. I am very out of shape and hopefully joining this group will help motivate me. My FitBit is a few years old and did not get a lot of use for over a year when I hurt myself but now I am working to lose some weight as well and that should help with the "old hip" I am sure.

Hi I'm Kathy from Florida. I just got a new fit bit charge 2 yesterday. I used to have a fitbit HR before but it stopped working awhile ago. I am new to this sight but not new to SP. I am a good go getter in the beginning but I have no staying power. get wrapped up in other things and then get lazy about posting. Hopefully I will be better this time. I lost about 40 lbs with the help of SP a few years ago but have gained it all back emoticon . But I am back again to try it again.

Hi there, Fitbit Team,

I love my xmas pressie to myself my Fitbit Charge 2, I've done a total of over 50,000 steps in this first week. I've been a Sparkpeople member since January 2008 with some success, but mainly in combination with other programmes etc. Clearly it works for others but not well enough for me yet, dare say it's down to ME!

Hello Fitbit team! i have had my Fitbit for almost a year now and at first it was very motivating. Unfortunately I cannot lose weight just by wearing it. It is a wonderful tool and I am excited to have it help me reach my full potential this year. I look forward to contributing to the team!

Greetings from Squamish BC Canada. I am so looking forward to hiking all the trails eventually, this is perfect for me. I do a lot of walking.. unable to track properly at this time. I hope to buy myself a fit bit in the next week or so and solve this.. I also will be seeing a specialist to check my left knee which is causing a lot of pain since August. I should mention it is held together by several screws due from a head on car collision ten years ago or so. I walk my dog everyday but his age 13.5 years old and is causing him to slow down and limp often so my longer walks have stopped not to mention it is cold and wet and snowy -- called winter..
This wintery weather has enabled me to do some snowshoeing so I have tracked time outside nicely but I miss the company of my pooch who gets left at home.
Now I have found this group and I am now very motivated to start hiking these trails virtually as it is something I have been wanting to do very much - giving up hope of ever doing the real thing.

Update... I went and and bought myself a Fitbit and now it is charging... I'll be out the door later this afternoon ... gotta get those steps in..

Hi, not a new member but new to this team! I just recently got a fitbit from a friend who never used it. My name is April, I am a 34 year old mom to a 2 year old boy, I work full time, and I go to school full time. Squeezing in exercise is hard for me. I'm hoping the fitbit will help me with that. I've already noticed that I want to up my steps and calories burned and all that good stuff every time I look at my fitbit app. Does anyone know why the calories burned don't match on the exercise tracker? I look forward to this journey with you guys!

Hello from Los Angeles. I was an active member of sparkpeople before and after having a gastric bypass a few years back. I had lost around 200 pounds from my highest point to my lowest. I kind of wandered away for a couple of years and re-gained about 50 pounds. So I am back and am attempting to loose 100 pounds in a year. The fitbit is new to me. I had a pedometers before and liked them, but lost or ran out of power on most of them. I hope the fitbit has more power to last and that syncing with sparkpeople will be helpful.
Thanks for the group add and let's see how it goes. BTW, I have a Fitbit Flex 1.

Hello, All! My name is Sherry and I just came back to SP on January 2nd. I love this format! Looking forward to using my FitBit to help me melt away all of this unwanted weight and I also look forward to getting to know everyone. I live in Northern Maine where winters are long and cold. Just joined a gym this past weekend so I can work out after work. I love to snowshoe, so that will be my exercise of choice whenever possible on weekends. I haven't figured out how to make my photo show up next to my name, so if anyone can help with that, that would be great! But I do have a photo on my profile page.

Hi, I am Carol. A past SparkPeople user (it has been a few years) and a Fitbit user forever... Starting the year with a goal of 8000/day with the plan to move up to 10000 by the end of January. I am a wife, busy mom of 3 children (21,19,16) who works full time as a business analysis consultant traveling once or twice a month. I am looking to successfully establish some good for me habits in 2017. I purchased a mini-trampoline in 2016, which I live for kicking up my steps.

Hi all! Well, I didn't actually join this team, but I am glad that SP "joined" me! I have wanted a fitbit forever and finally got myself the Charge 2 during a Christmas sale. I love, love, love it! I am a 50 year old ESE teacher in Florida with 3 living daughters (I lost my 22 year old son in 2008 and my 27 year old daughter in 2012) and 7 grandchildren who range in age from 1 to 14 years. I have a wonderfully supportive, loving husband of 5 and a half years. I have battled weight issues my entire life. I went from being a fat child to a fat adult. I don't necessarily identify myself as unfit though. My blood work is fantastic and I run. I am currently training for the Disney Princess Half marathon in February. I also coach volleyball and soccer. I love the food tracking with fitbit. It is so convenient to scan the bar codes and go from there. Feel free to add me as a friend on here and on Fitbit! Happy Sparking!!

Hello everyone. Here's the scoop. I'm 54 and will be 55 in October. I will also have the privilege of retiring at that early age. I have worked as a CFO at a small rural hospital for many years. Have 30 years total. Bu high stress jobs lead to weight gain and I have 50 lbs to lose. Love my Fitbit because it's keeps me aware.

Hello everyone, I have been on SP since 2009 and am once again resetting my goals, as I have gained back most of my original weight loss for the umpteenth time. I love my fit bit looking forward to getting back to my 12,000 step goals; right now I am having a hard time making 10,000. I would welcome any support or tips you cn give me.

Hello everyone. I have been using SparkPeople for years (2008 I think?) but have lost motivation over the last couple years. I lose 30 pounds for vacation, go on vacation, then gain it all back. I got the Fitbit Blaze for Christmas in hopes that it would motivate me to keep moving and get healthy. I'm really glad that Sparkpeople syncs with Fitbit and so far it has been very motivating.

If it is important enough to want it is important enough to fight for.

Hi everyone! I've rejoined Sparkpeople after taking a break. I wasn't seeing results and got burnt out trying to track everything with a bunch of stuff going on in my life. Things have settled a bit so I decided to give it another try. I've had the Fitbit One for about 3.5 years now, and I love it. My biggest challenge is getting over my "all or nothing" mentality.

Happy New Year! My name is Katie and I have been on SparkPeople off and on for 8 years. I had a Spark Tracker for three years and LOVED it. It was a wonderful motivational tool for me. Unfortunately, I lost it in October. I got a Fitbit for Christmas, so I guess we'll see...

Hoping we all have a good 2017. Back to spark people after gaining my weight back. Fitness level is very poor after two ankle fusions one of which has not taken right. Foot is crooked, but do not want further surgeries. Hoping to start slow and regain some fitness. Also trying to change to new Fitbit not sure if it has changed successfully on Spark

Looking forward to a whole new me somewhere in my future

Happy New Year, everybody! Returning to SparkPeople after a 4 1/2 month break, for a family emergency. I pretty much gave up on working out and didn't pay attention to what I ate. I gained 3 1/2 pounds, so it's time to get back on track.

Brand new cool gadget (Charge 2) to help me out. A friend has challenged herself to walk 2017 miles in 2017. I don't know if I can get that far, but it should be fun to see how I do!

I have had my Fitbit Charge 2 for almost a week now. I love how it keeps track of my exercise, even when I forget to set it. It's so nice that it syncs up with Sparkpeople! The variety of exercises is nice, too. So far I've met or exceeded my 12,000 steps a day.

I also like that it tells the number of calories burned. This feature made me realize that I need to eat more. (Maybe this is why the scale is stuck.) There are so many features that I like about the Fitbit and I'm glad that I received it for Christmas.

Thanks kids!

Hello all. I just got a FitBit for Christmas and am stressing about getting 10,000 steps, So far, my highest was less than 4000. This may change next week, when I get back in the classrooms and walk all over the schools I teach. Here's hoping...

I had a Fitbit one for a year and a half before I lost it on a hike in September. I didn't replace it until this week when I got a Fitbit Flex on clearance at Walmart for $40. So far I like it. My daily goal is 6000 steps.

Hi everyone! My name is Amber and I am not quite sure how I got added to this team. I guess it was automatic when I connected my Fitbit to SP. lol I am looking to lose about 155 pounds. I'll probably never be at the recommended size for my height but I won't give up trying. I know I at least wanted to get under my middle school weight (puberty hit me like an elephant and decided to stay for the long haul haha). I am always looking for buddies. Good morning everyone. New to spark people. I've had a Fitbit for years but my steps have not been up to par lately. Just found this site the other day and just realized how to see the groups today. Still learning. Slowly getting my feet wet so I can be prepared to get going again January 1....

Hi everyone. My name is Lareesa. I have been on and off with sparkpeople for quite a few years. I have been bad about losing weight and then gaining weight, and then trying to get healthy and then falling back into old habits. Anyway, I got a Fitbit Flex2 for Christmas, and I'm figuring out how to use it and hope it will help me get myself healthy once and for all!

Hello, I am a longtime member of Spark People.. 12/2009.. I had a Spark Fitness Tracker and recently, lost it out on a run. I use to keep it clipped to my shoe lace. Very heartbroken.. My son was so kind to get me a Fitbit that will work with Spark People. I still love using my Garmin FR10 for running but love the steps and being able to connect...

Hey ya'll. I'm returning to SP after a long break. I'm working on loosing over 100lbs, I'm down 30 lbs since having my youngest son back on 12/5/16. My goal is to get to around 160, but more than that I just wanna live healthier for my kids. I've been focused on making healthier choices and once I am cleared by my Dr. I'll start working out again. :)

Hi all! My name is Michelle too! I got my FitBit about a month ago and used it to track only steps, which was nice... and motivating when I was invitied to a challenge by a friend! This week I linked SparkPeople and FitBit and wow! It's like a wake-up call. I think this might be the catalyst to get my butt back in gear with a COMBINATION of good eating and exercise. Looking forward to reading through the expertise here!

Hi I am Tiphi1228, or Tina. I actually joined the group over a year ago when I first got my fitbit but because I had this inability to be social on sparkpeople I never actually got involved. 09/15/16 I started a medical weight loss program through my Dr. and decided if I was finally going to be successful it needed to be an all or nothing experience. Somehow I found myself in a 5% fall challenge which then lead to me being a leader in the upcoming 5% Winter Challenge and then joining a Biggest Loser Challenge for Winter. Someone asked me if I was part of this team & your goals and I said.. well i am a member but I am not involved. I worried I would be limited on time updating 3 different challenges but i think I will be able to do it, once I figure out what we all do here LOL.

I have had a fitbit for almost 2 years now, my goal is 10k a day. I have an office job and walk all of my breaks and many days can almost get my goal before I go home. I have been lazy and not pushing to hit it but maybe I just need another push to get back on track! My program is a strict no grains, no potatoes, no sugar program so that means very low carb, I am 30 carbs or lower and they are not net carbs. I feel pretty awesome after 3 months (I literally just realized that today is my 3 month mark!) and am down 35 lbs (hoping for that 40 mark at weight in Monday!)

Either way, wanted to say Hi and going to try to find my way around and get involved !

Hi! I've been on SparkPeople for what seems like forever, and started over many times. Just can't seem to stay with the healthy lifestyle. I started out with a FitBit Flex that my husband won in a contest at work. I got a FitBit Charge in 2015 because I wanted one that told the time since I was constantly looking at my wrist for the time because I could feel the Flex. Now I have a FitBit Charge HR because my Charge band started coming apart and FitBit replaced it with an HR for free! Fantastic customer service.

I have to say that the FitBit doesn't motivate me very well. I'm hoping that by joining this group it will help me feel more accountable. I have a very sedentary job and find it difficult to get 10,000 steps in each day, and failing miserably at it was definitely not motivating. So I've lowered my steps for the day to 6,000, which is still a stretch, but is something that I can do. Once I can be consistent I'm going to raise the total. Does anyone else have that problem?

Looking forward to working together and having a support group! emoticon

Today is where my book begins - the rest is still unwritten!

Hello again
I've done this a few times, unsuccessfully I guess since I keep getting an email telling me to introduce myself. So here we go again. ..
60yr old-on the outside. Much younger on the inside. Does anyone else feel that way? Oops, back to the intro. I worked in a hospital setting, as a RN, for 23 years. I was injured a few times from pulling, tugging, turning, rolling extremely obese people and 1 combative one that sent me into a history of back surgeries. I'm unable to work and fighting my own weight problems and depression now.
I won a fitbit charge HR from a drawing at a weight-loss clinic I started going to. That's the only way I could have gotten one. I stay broke now, which doesn't help the depression.
I LOVE MY FITBIT!
I got my daughter a little slim lavender one on Black Friday for $49.
My Fitbit is actually helping me stay motivated.

Hi everybody! I have been on and off of Sparkpeople for a while now. I just got a Charge 2 a couple of weeks ago and am enjoying being more aware of the things I do and still need to do each day.

Hi - I'm Barb. I've been using SparkPeople for almost 3 years. During that time, I've lost 90 lbs. I have 14 lbs to go to goal, and I'm stuck. I switched from my Jawbone UP2 to FitBit Charge2 this past weekend. I'm finding myself more motivated with the heart rate tracking. Maybe this will help me move on toward my goal weight.
At this point, I am walking energetically. I don't know how to break into running. If you have some suggestions, please send me an SP email message. In the mean time, I also go to Jazzercize classes daily.

Hugs,
Barb

Hi my name's Melisa. I've been pretty active all year long and I want to finish strong, especially with the distraction of the Holiday's.

I've fallen behind lately, being a college student - I tend to excuse my stationary position instead of going for a walk/run.
I happen to hold a certification in Human Nutrition, so there's really no excuse for me , but I'm determine to get back in shape :)

That's why I purchased a FitBit, to help keep me in line & to push me further than I've ever pushed myself.

Hope we can motivate each other :) !

My name is Nashia and I am a returning Sparker. I am at my heaviest ever. I am getting back into a routine by increasing my steps and water intake.

I think having a group to check in with daily will be great to provide some accountability, and support when I know I'll start to slide into old habits.

We have 2 teenage sons and we are looking to expand our family in the next year so its even more important right now that I get my health and especially my weight under control.

I'm super excited to be part of this group!

Hi to all. My name is Becky and I'm a former SparkPeople user who decided to come back a year ago. I was having great success with losing weight and daily fitness when, unfortunately I had a medical emergency that brought everything to a sudden and complete stop. That was in March and I just received permission from my doctor to start back on my fitness program.

Just prior to the health setback, I had purchased a very inexpensive fitness tracker and really enjoyed the motivation that I received using the tracker. However, it was very basic and didn't do everything I decided I wanted. So, my wonderful husband bought me a Fitbit Alta for my birthday. Boy, do I love this thing!!! I cannot believe the ease with which it syncs to my SparkPeople account.

I'm normally a very sedentary person but I like the challenge it provides me to always beat yesterday's fitness measures. Even if a person can only afford the most basic fitness tracker, I strongly urge the purchase of one if you are serious about making a healthy lifestyle change.

Bonjour (Hi) I've been on SP for quite a while but between some health issues and working alone to loose wieght I kind of put it aside for some time a couple of times . I always come back though.

I received my fitbit last year as a birthday gift from my children and I've gone from 7500 to 13300 steps a day,and lost 10 pounds in the process...

I have been on spark people for years but did not utilize it to its potential. So I am basically restarting again. I have the Charge HR fitbit. Lucky I still have it. I am a cashier and one day at work a few months ago it fell off into a customers bag (I wear on the last hole). It was gone for about a week and showed up at the courtesy desk about a week later. So glad I did not need to buy a new one and thank you to who ever returned it. They could have easily kept it and no one would have known. emoticon

Hi, I'm Courtney and I'm 22 years old. I live in MN and have just finished up my Social Work degree! I'm really looking to get to a healthy weight and healthy point in my life. My dad was diagnosed with diabetes when he was my age and I really want to avoid that. I'm also hoping that by becoming healthy, I can have better control over my depression and anxiety and also increase my self-esteem.
