I just checked back to see when I joined Fitbit Users Unite - it was 11/28/17 - when I first started using my Fitbit. I got all caught up in Holiday business and not taking time for myself. Another issue I have is I have a problem walking slowly so I know I can't just go walking in the neighborhood everyday. But I've made up my mind that I'm going to start wearing my fitbit and just see how many steps I actually take everyday. I do go to Curves and do water aerobics five days a week so that should. I tried going to the Mall to walk yesterday and I surprised myself and got over 4,000 steps in. It does remind me to move every hour - any steps I take or better than no steps at all. emoticon

Hey, y'all! I'm Kat in San Francisco! In 2009/2010, I was a runner, running half marathons and weighed about 120 pounds. All of that changed when I got a hip injury. I stopped exercising, and started stress/boredom eating and the pounds crept on until Thanksgiving of 2017 when I weighed myself and I was 241 pounds. Since then, I've overhauled my diet and got a new Fitbit. I've slowly been upping the number of steps by 500 each week, and this week I'm at 7,000 steps. Can't wait to reach my goals with y'all!

Hello All - I'm Heather. I've had my fitbit flex since October(?) I started out with a goal to get to 5,000 steps per day and I gradually got to the point where I can accomplish that on most days just taking walks on my work breaks. My husband and I got a treadmill for ourselves for Christmas and now we take turns walking on it most nights of the week. He has a fitbit HR.

Hello everyone. My name is Mayme. I have had a Fitbit for 2 years now but just recently upgraded to the new Fitbit charge 2. I love it. I love how it reminds you that you need to get up and move if you have sat for too long. This makes me more aware of the length of time I have been sitting. I am looking forward to more adventures with my Fitbit.

Hi, my name is Regi and I am new to this group. I have had a Fitbit Alta for a while now and when I remember to put it on its very handy. Since I rejoined Sparkpeople on 1/1/2018 I have been wearing it every day. I have made it to 10k steps two times now since then and am pretty happy with that. Usually, I am somewhere between 5-8 k steps for the day. My goal is 10K every day. Thank you!

Looking forward to getting to know my new Fitbit Charge 2 over the next few weeks. I've only had it for a day but can already see how helpful it can be. What are your favorite features?

Hi. My 17 yr old bought me a Charge 2 for Christmas. At the beginning of December, I added getting up from my desk and taking a five minute walk every hour. I usually use the S Health app on my phone the fitbit has a function specifically for that and I get a reminder if I haven't gotten all my steps in for that hour.

Hey everyone, I'm actually on my 2nd Fitbit, I broke the first one due to using an aftermarket charger for it. Nevertheless, I'm ready to get healthier and work on my 3rd Fitbit, that one will be a gift to myself:) emoticon

Hi, I'm Krista! I'm in Michigan and I have used a Fitbit for about 2 years now. I had a Charge HR first and then got a Blaze for my bday last February. My goals are weight loss, more sleep, and more activity, and it's definitely a helpful tool.

I work in an office setting with a sedentary position, so I love the reminders to get up and walk every hour. I've gotten a few other gals at work to walk with me whenever I get up to take a lap, too! I have sleep apnea and PCOS and I like that I can recall details like my sleep patterns and heart rate, etc. to show to my doctors when I see them.

.:*:. Here's to using this great tool toward a successful 2018! .:*:.

Hi my name is Laura. I've had a Fitbit since last May. I got a new one for Christmas that does more stuff that I'm trying to figure out. I can only do 5000 steps a day at this point due to my weight and I had a hip replacement in March of last year. I hope this helps me lose the weight and get my diabetes numbers back down. Happy New Year everyone. Let's make it a good one!!

Hi there, I'm Rene. I'm new to this group. I linked my fitbit to Spark and as with a million other people - I hope to be healthier in 2018. I started my journey last fall and have lost 25 lbs. I have forty more to go. Hoping that adding this tool will be motivating. Best wishes, everyone.

I was given a Fitbit Charge 2 but I can't get it set up even though I made a number of attempts. I have no Macs, IPhones or IPads. I do have a Win 8 Laptop and Kindle Fire HD8 (and a older blackberry and a Kindle 7 that probably won't work). Any ideas? I am in Va. What am I not doing to get it working and what do I need to do to get it working with SPARKPEOPLE?

You can call me Darkangel. I have had a fit bit for a year now. I love it because it makes me aware of my inactivity. I look forward to working with all of you. I left SparkPeople 4 years ago. Now I’m looking forward to losing some weight and gaining new friends. PS I have a Fitbit Alta emoticon

Hi All,

My name is JIm and I won a FitBit Charge 2 at work. Decided to start wearing it yesterday. I find it a bit confusing how to use it when using a stationary bike but other than that I think it will be a nice addition to my lifestyle. I have already lost 60-pounds on a HFLC diet and improved my cholesterol numbers dramatically. So the I'll use the Fitbit to keep me honest.

If anyone is aware of any Youtube tutorials on how to use/program the Fitbit, especially with exercise equipment like bikes/ellipticals, please advise.

Hello all. My name is Sandy and I bought myself a Fitbit Alta so that I could sync it with my Weight Watchers and Sparkpeople accounts. I can also use some of the extras that it has. It sure opened my eyes to my sleeping. I just had all of my teeth pulled on Wednesday and I put on my Fitbit on Friday. Friday, I slept really well and it was interesting to see the Fitbit reflecting that. Last night, the pain woke me up and I ended up doing a meditation for pain so that I could get back to sleep. The Fitbit accurately reflected my night. Not much activity, though, but I go back to work today and I get a lot of steps in there. I'm a head cashier at Lowes.

Hi! I am Jenny* and my Fitbit came in the mail yesterday!!! I bought it on Black Friday. I got the Charge 2 with a blue band. Well, I've wanted a Fitbit for a little over two years and I finally decided to save up and get one. Already, on day one, I can see how I can get so much more walking into my day. I think my dog, Pixie, will like it too because going for a walk is her favorite thing!!! I can't wait to see how it will make a difference in my life!

My daughter has given me her Fitbit since she bought a new Apple device. I've heard about this Fit bit connection to Sparkpeople for a few years now. I just set it up today so I'm going to have fun seeing how it works with my cellphone and computer. I've been with Spark-people since 1/25/2007; I've been on the Maintenance team since 2012. This is a good chance for me to learn something new that might help me keep off the 60 lbs I lost in 2007. emoticon

Hey!! I'm Angelica from SW Virginia. I've been a SparkPeople user on and off over the last couple years but never really anything seriously. I'm only 27 will be 28 in January and due to some health issues I've decided to try and take my weight loss seriously this time. I have lost weight before, one time losing around 60 pounds, however I am the typical yo-yo dieter and gain it back plus more! So here is to a "hopefully" better me!!

Hi, I am Karen. I joined SparkPeople on February 13, 2010. I stopped checking in due to multiple health issues that overwhelmed me to an all time low. October 6, 2016 I had another pelvic surgery that left me non-weight bearing on my left leg for 3 months. I was on crutches till either March or April slowly adding degrees of weight-bearing & then moved to a cane. Ive had wonderful doctors who were very compassionate.

Anyway, Im back walking on a treadmill daily at least 10 minutes at 1.5 mph. Not very fast however, its doctors orders & it makes me feel good just to be walking!

Thanks to all for being there for me, your words of encouragement are what made me return to SPARKPEOPLE!

Hi. My name is Cassie and I just (re)joined SP today. I'm 33 and have 60-70 pounds to get to my goal weight. I was on here a few years ago and lost a bit of weight, but didn't keep up with the maintenance portion of my weight loss. I've been trying to lose weight for awhile now on my own without success. I finally figured out that the community is what helped me more than anything else last time. I look forward to making new Spark Friends and continuing my journey well into the maintenance phase.

Hello everyone,
I have had my Fitbit Alta for a year now and years before then I did have an account, but that was years ago. I have a question: with the fitbit and the 2 apps is there a way to just put the food input in one app and it shows up on the others. I have my step that transferred over from my fitbit but the food intake did not. Please let me know if can be do and how or not.

I have been a member of Sparkpeople for years but have been slack in keeping up with a healthy lifestyle.

Looking forward to getting back into the swing of healthy eating and activity.

Just getting back into Spark People. I've had a Fitbit ChargeHR2 for over a year now. I really like the feature where it tells me if I haven't gotten at least 250 steps in an hour. It lets me know it's time for a walk!

HI

My name is Karen - I live in Ontario Canada.

I have been using fitbit for a long time - I just recently had my fitbit charge replaced, by fitbit, under warranty, thankfully, for the new fitbit - which I really like.

Is anyone using the fitbit coach app? There is a charge for it annually, but I am interested in exploring that.. not sure if its worth it.

Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get my "ducks in a row" and recommit to healthy exercise and eating after a challenging couple of years. I've been using the simple fitbit for a couple of years, but apparently in May it stopped sincing with Sparkspeople. I just tried disconnecting and reconnecting it and I hope it worked. No luck yet after @ 20 minutes.

My husband bought me a Fitbit Charge 2 after seeing how serious I was about wanting to lose weight and get myself back in shape after two surgeries. I'm loving it and find it to be quite motivating. I've set a goal of 15,000 steps a day for now. Just recently, I figured how to sync my fitbit to Spark, and I'm now trying to figure it all out. So many questions, but I'm slowly learning. Looking forward to a healthier more fit body with the help of fitbit, Spark, and the encouragement and support of everyone here.

Hi, my name is "Simba", and I am a Fitbit newbie. I bought my FitBit about 3 weeks ago, and am loving it. I'm a Sparkpeople Re-Joiner and signed up about a week ago. I like the SP nutrition tracker and food lists better than FitBit's, and, of course, all the other SP benefits and fun things as well.

My Goals from now until the end of 2017 are:
1. Track all my meals daily
2. Stay on or under Calorie Range.
3. Achieve 10K plus steps daily
4. Exercise 30 mins M-F
5. Reach my Goal Weight by December.

I'm hoping to learn more about my FitBit and to join in any challenges.

Hi! My name is Michelle and I have had a FitBit One for about 2 years now. I use it just to see what I"m doing and kindof push myself but not really challenge myself. Plus, I take it off to charge it and then forget to wear it for weeks at a time. Not helpful!

About 10 years ago I lost 40 pounds and was almost to my goal weight but then life happened (doesn't it always?) and 45 pounds creeped back on. It took 10 years, but it's time to really get myself back on track! My job (teacher) gets me easy 8,000 steps/day on a normal day, and as a teacher I'm always super busy in my "off hours" so it's a boundry challenge as well.

My goals are, presently, to
1.) drink more water!!! (I've let that lapse too)
2.) track my meals/snacks
3.) dump the sugar

My Fitbit email is LemongrassMichelle@gmail.com and I'd love to be challenged!

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

Good morning,
My name is Lysandra Montijo. I've had a Fitbit for about 2 years and I love tracking my steps. I've been lagging for a while but am back to working towards increasing my goal. My current daily goal is 9,000. I want to increase that to 12,000 by the end of December. I'm hoping that if I increase my daily step intake that it will keep me motivated to exercise and lose weight. My Fitbit email is: lysandra_montijo@hotmail.com. Feel free to add me as a Fitbit friend as seeing other people's progress also challenges me to keep moving.
Good luck to everyone.

Hey all,

I rewarded myself with a fitbit when I lost my first 10 lbs. I just completed my 4th week on Sparkpeople.

Hello. My name is Tina. I've had a fitbit for 2 years now. I have 50 pounds to lose altogether, but I just lose and gain the same 10 pounds over and over. I'm excited to join SparkPeople and hope these forums and friendships are the "magic" that will help me to succeed. Good luck to Everyone!

Hi, my name is Eric. I got my fitbit a few years ago and just started up sparkpeople this month. I will be turning 60 in May. My goal is to lose 60 lbs by then. It is doable since that is around 2 lbs a week. Activity is not my problem, I usually log 10k steps + a day. The issue I have is eating right and getting discouraged when I plateau.

I will increase my steps and choose the right foods.

Good Morning,

I joined SparkPeople yesterday (although I seem to have done so years earlier as well-I already had a username and log in). I've been using my Fitbit since Dec 2016 and love it. Goals are to lose this last 10-12 pounds and get/stay strong. I need to learn the ins and outs of the forums; is there a 'forums for dummies' post somewhere?
