Hi!
My name is Beth and I'm from Pennsylvania.
I used Spark a long time ago and was very successful. However sometime over the last year or so I've fallen way off the wagon and have gained back everything I previously lost - But I'm not giving up -- I'm jumping back on and I will be successful this time.
I have a fitbit that I love and look forward to success using both tools.
Thanks!

Hi, my name is Erica and I just got my fitbit alta last week. I was happy to find out it could sync with SP.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

Hi all, I'm Mike from Iowa, been on Spark for 3 days so far, and I love it! I've had a Fitbit for about a year, and it has helped me alot thus far.

Change comes from within.

Hey everyone! I'm Jen. I just bought myself a Charge HR as an early birthday present for myself. I have it all set up but I'm waiting for it to finish charging so I can figure out how it works. I'm hoping this gives me motivation to move and get out.

Wow, I didn't know there was a team. Cool! Couldn't believe my insurance would send me a fit bit thought I would get a pedometer. Anyway, I hope to make friends here. Really need the accountability and would love to be a cheer leader to others. Hoping having this will help me get off my chair and move more.

So, when my new fitbit came in last week I had the worst time trying to get it to sync. It kept saying driver error-tried everything and still no luck with it with my windows 10 computer. So, yesterday I tried it with my apple laptop and it did sync-YAY!

Then I had to figure out how to sync the fitbit account with the Sparkpeople account. It did on my windows 10 and since it carries over to the apple I am all set now.

Still no luck syncing the zip with windows 10-but at least it works with my apple laptop.

Howdy everyone. I bought a Fitbit One on Friday and have been busy syncing it and learning how to use it. I have only had a Smartphone for a few months so I am on a steep learning curve. Yesterday was exceptional for me as I walked 23,000 steps. So I investigated linking it to Sparkpeople and was surprised to find out that I had also joined this team. Walking is my main exercise, closely followed by 2 or 3 gym sessions per week. I am mainly using my Fitbit to track my steps and distance which I was trying to do manually before. Happy days.

I am at goal and maintaining. Thanks to my friends on SparkPeople and in the real world who motivate me every day.

My healthy BMI weight range is a generous 65kg to 55kg. My Spark goal is 60kg.

Hello all! I've been MIA for a couple of years and I'm starting over. I fell off the wagon big time but I'm trying to commit to a lifestyle change now. I'm a single mother of 2 and just moved my family(including my mother) across the country for work. Living in the hotel has been rough and we aren't being active enough nor eating well. I just bought 3 fitbits for my family so we can all be more active together and we're loving it so far. Hopefully we'll all be on track to a healthier life!

Hi! I am a retired teacher who used the SPARK activity tracker for three years. It fell off my pocket yesterday so now I have a fit bit flex. I will have to remember to move my arm when walking. So used to just clipping my tracker on my pocket in the morning.

Hi everyone. I am a single mom, tired of using the baby fat excuse. My child is 11... I'm just looking to get moving in the right direction of shedding the pounds instead of storing them. So I figured I should get more use out of my fitbit, rather than just using it as a watch.

I wear many different hats. First and foremost I am a mother of 7. I am a wife. I am a Coast Guard Veteran. My current endeavor is to get my degree in Naturopathic Medicine. I was working on a science degree when I felt it was not the path I wanted to be on. I will be completing my A.A.S in Complementary and Alternative Medicine with a focus on both Aromatherapy and Herbalism. I will soon be taking my board exam to become a registered Aromatherapist. My husband and I are starting our own holistic apothecary. He is a nutrition consultant, exercise specialist and massage therapist.

We both have struggled with our health and weight. When we started on our path with natural medicine, it was to regain our health. Our youngest is only three. We want to ensure that we are both there for her on her graduation day and to see the lives of all of our children blossom.

I have been using FitBit for a year or more. Recently, I have been using it to challenge myself to complete step goals, heart rate goals and all that fitbit has to offer.

Hi. Lurker, finally introducing myself. Mom, librarian, runner, walker, cyclist, reader, crafter, cook, horrible housekeeper, who spends way too much time with my eyes on a screen of some kind. I've had my Fitbit for almost a year. Use it to track my sleep as much as my steps. I don't spend too much effort trying to make by step goal. Joined this community because I was curious. Happy walking.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sydney and I am happy to be part of the Fitbit Users Team. I'm 24 and I've been serious and committed to working on my overall health (mental, physical, and spiritual) health since November 2015. I have not lost a lot in pound but I am living proof that the scale is not the end all, be all. I have been working on building some mussel there for may weight has not moved a whole lot in the past few months but my inches have dropped.

Currently I am down about 25 pounds and 3 sizes. I feel great, my lower back is no longer in constant pain, and the depression I was slipping into has improved.

Please feel free to add me to your Fitbit Challenges. I work at a desk all day and fitbit challenges has really been a good way to help me move not only after work and on the weekends but also during the work day. Instead of calling co-workers on the phone I will actually getup and go see them in person. LOL Any way my email is sydney.jackson-clockston14@alumni.colostat
e.edu. Also feel free to add me as a friend on Spark and IG:Sydstarr1

Hi! I'm mom to 2, wife a firefighter, living in the heart of California's Wine Country. *waves*
I'm returning to SP after having successfully lost about 25 pounds in the past, also did WW (I seem to be juggling these same 25 pounds..sigh).
But I'm back and currently working on tracking and water. I've got my FitBit charging as I type.
I need to lose about 50 pounds~ and look forward to losing even just about 10 to feel better. Feeling pretty lousy lately.
Glad to be here!

Hi, my name is Linda, and I am a retired lady who lives in southern Arizona. I have debated and debated buying a fitness tracker, and finally purchased a Fitbit Blaze. Just starting to set it up, and that is taking me a bit of time.

I have been using Sparkpeople for many years, mostly to help me keep fit. And, I hope the Fitbit will help me do that as well. I have osteoporosis. So, exercising is very important to me.

I work out at a gym three times a week, and I try to walk every day. Always try to walk at least 10,000 steps per day. Sometimes that is not easy due to the heat, activities, etc.

Hope to learn from this team how to use the fitbit -- tips, advice, etc.

Hello, my name is Thiry. I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years. My husband and I purchased Fitbit Flex in February. We are both diabetic and need to work on getting our weight down. I have been trying to get to the gym 3+ times a week. I have been having trouble with my back and knee which are added reasons to get this extra weight off. I have lost almost 18 pounds since we got our FitBits in February. I am hoping to lose another 15 pounds before out vacation mid August and a lot more before my son's wedding some time next year (they just got engaged last Saturday night) as I would like to break the 200 pound mark.

Hi all, My name is bev... I have been a fitbit user for about 3 years... I bought the hr last year and am enjoying using it... since I have issues with my knees I am not able to do what I was doing in steps when I first started... in fact just had to take a couple of weeks off my walking as I couldn't hardly get around ... it is easing up this week so went for a walk this morning... I love getting out in the fresh air... heres hoping that when my instaflex gets here it will make a big difference in my pain level. I have it set for 7000 a day. Last weekend we were down on the washington and oregon coast and did myself in sand walking. I love walking on the beach and would do it again.. have a nice day

Hi everyone. My name is Lacie. I'm new to Spark and Fitbit. I bought a Fitbit Surge about 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it!
This year for me is all about getting healthier. I've had a bit of a rough start due to some health issues but I'm on track now. Looking forward to meeting you all and joining in on the challenges!

Hi, I'm Dawn. I purchased a Charge HR specifically for the heart rate tracker. I have anxiety and had an accessory pathway that caused a cardiac arrest a few years ago. It is great to be able to see how my heart is doing throughout the day. I find wearing the FitBit is a constant reminder to move more and to track what I eat. I LOVE THAT! I've always had a hard time tracking in the past but now it is so much easier.

I have lost 8lbs since I started wearing it!

Hi I'm Catniss. I first bought the Alta and soon discovered that it didn't have pulse rate on it. I thought that was important when working out because it shows when you're above fat burning heart rate. The Alta didn't do that. It just kept track of my steps and I felt it wasn't enough even though it was cute which is mainly why I chose that one lol. Anyway I decided to upgrade to the Blaze, it has heart rate built in. I wish it had gps too but you can set it up with your smart phone. I only need to loose 10 to 15 at the most but I find this is harder then loosing 50. I yo yo a pound up and down almost daily and it's so frustrating. Oh I got the Aria scale too. That's amazing it syncs with the app and shows fat percentage and BMI. And weirdly it doesn't weight anything but YOU. Clothes on or off you weigh the same. I tried holding something and my weight didn't change at all. Very smart that aria. LoL Anyway, It's nice to be a part of a group of people that love their FitBits I know I do.

Hey everyone. My name is Becca. I been here for 22 days and am loving Sparkpeople. I dumped MFP after not having any success. I have a Fitbit Charge, but also use a Suunto Watch for water supports and to track HR. I was motivated to take more serious charge of my health after contracting an unknown illness three months ago that lasted a whole month. Right now I'm waiting for a replacement Charge HR, because my current Charge has problems holding a charge.

I got a Charge HR last week. I am using it to get an idea of my steps (job has me at a computer most days so need to figure out how to get steps in) and my sleep. I was on SP for a few years then got wrapped up in getting my BS, MBA and MSL and got away from cooking, eating properly, virtually no movement, etc. while working full time and going to school full time. I gained back most of what I lost before and now need to head the other way again. I thought the fitbit might help motivate me.

IT does work better if you wear it on your ankle for these types of movements (also biking). The Charge HR will track your active minutes if your heart rate increases (not just steps). I have the same problem when skating or playing hockey - very few steps, but it's actually the active minutes that are most important.

Hi! Happy Independence Day! My name is Tina Lou and I have the Charge HR. I love it, but have had some problems with it syncing to my Spark account and to my devices. I have tried what was suggested to me from the Fitbit support site. Any suggestions would be welcomed. I look forward to getting to know some of you!

Hi my name is Michelle and I am just found this group today with my fitbit. I have both the flex but upgraded to the Alta. I am slowly getting back into tracking everything. My fitness will be easier to track for the excersice. Love my Alta. Now to get my health back on track but everything is so confusing. Happy 4th of July

Hi, I'm back again with fitbit but have been consistent with SP since 10/13. I had a fitbit zip about 2 years ago, lost it, went with the spark tracker for a while, kept losing it and buying another one until my son bought me a garmen vivotit 2 which I still have. His girlfriend just bought me a fitbit, so I'm going to try them both out for a while & decide which one to use. Keep sparking!!

Hello everyone! New to the team, but not new to SP! This time around I hope to embrace SP more and truly learn how to take better care of myself and my husband. I have an old school HR Charger that I wear everyday. I try to aim for 10,000 steps a day, but usually manage to get in about 5-6,000. 2 days out of the week I walk 4 miles and the other 2 days I do elliptical for about 15-30 minutes, along with 30 min strength training. My fitbit doesnt really track that time on the elliptical. My mom says I should wear it on my ankle like she does.. does anyone else do this??

Hi there,

I just got a Fitbit Zip from work for joining a step challenge with my department. I've had a JawBone Up but I won it in a raffle and it wasn't really my size so I didn't ever wear it. I think this will help keep me motivated and on-track. I've been tracking calories (and mostly staying within my range) for about a month now and have lost 10 pounds. Here's to keeping it up!

Hi, I'm Betty and have had my fitbit since Feb. I am now waiting for a new one that has shipped as mine is not holding the charge. I really appreciate the way the customer service has handled my problem. I now have the fitbit HR and they are replacing it with the Fitbit Altra, which I should have by next Wed.
I need to get my goal above the 27,000 weekly steps I am now taking. I have no place to walk, unless I'm shopping so depend on my treadmill which I sadly admit I'm not good at doing every day.Starting today, I am challenging myself to do this every day. I presently do arm weight lifts every other day and leg aerobics. Of course it doesn't show this on my fitbit! So decided to join this group to see if it helps. emoticon

Hi there, I'm Gail and I've been on SP for quite some time. I was really active in the 30's+ page but now I'm over 40 and moving on. Three years ago, I had gotten in a car accident and broke every bone in my right foot leaving me laid up for over 8 months. Well, the foot is healed and my life is slowly getting back to normal; so I decided it was time to get back on SP! I've got a LOT of weight to loose, so I hope to be joining some challenges to keep me motivated!

Hello my name is Latisha and I wear my Fitbit Flex faithfully. I plan to increase my daily steps from 15,000 to 17,500 tomorrow as a personal challenge. I have been in the 16,000 to 24,000 range for almost a month. Hopefully, I will learn some tips from some of you and get motivated to get stepping. I look forward to posting and chatting via the various forums.

I'm a FitBit Flex User, trying to loose weight --- 30 lbs more to go. Have mobility issues currently, due to 2 left knee arthroscopic surgeries, one Sept 2015 and the most recent on June 13, 2016 --- still in recovery mode now from the most recent surgery. Will get going more as soon as I can. Retired in Jan, 2016.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the Fitbit Users Unite team. I love my fitbit charge HR and I love being in challenges with my sister-in-law and mom. I love that I can be kept accountable in so many places. I am hoping to regain control of my health after many years of letting myself go. I am not focused on a certain amount of weight loss, I just want to be the best I can be.

I was on sparkpeople years ago but have not been on in probably 3 years. Back again, to try to lose about 70 lbs. I am 60 years young, and purchased a fitbit blaze about a month ago. Time to get serious.

Sorry, I think I posted to the wrong place at first.

Hello everyone! I've been on SP since January with exercising but really didn't start tracking my food and fully doing the program until February. I got my Fitbit charge hr for Christmas and it has changed my life. Before I started walking and exercising I was physically able to do almost nothing more than walk to the mail box. Now, just the other day I did my longest walk ever of 8.3 miles.
Some days it is physically impossible for me to do much activities because of my health problems but I am working at improving every day. I love the challenge of getting more steps in and am happy to be a part of this team. On average I try to get at least 10,000 steps in but some days I ride the bike for exercise and am not able to reach that goal.

Hello everyone! I have been a SparkPeople member since 2007 and finally got a fitness tracker (FitBit Alta) from my husband for Mother's Day. I just now synced it with SparkPeople so am excited to see what happens now! Here's a little history. I lost about 30 pounds, made it to goal weight, let life get in the way, gained it all back and am on my road back to health. Would love to share the journey with all of you!

I am not new to sparkpeople but I am a new fitbit user. I have been walking about 45 minutes for the last 2 weeks but have not lost a single lb! I am guessing I am eating more so back to recording what I eat. I have found this site quite helpful over the years but it really is time consuming. When I get busier it is hard to manage.

Good Afternoon to all! I am the proud owner of the Fitbit Alta, and I am loving it. I previously owned a Nike Fuelband, but was having too many issues with it; besides I couldn't sync it with SparkPeople. A collegue of mine had the Garmin band, which I wanted to purchase. She advised me to get the Fitbit, so me being the shopper that I am, I got both. Needless to say, the Garmin band has been in a drawer since I got it. My Fitbit syncs with my phone and gives me alerts when I have a phone call or a message, which is a godsend for me.
Anyway, glad to be a part of the group!

Hi Everyone -- I was given my Fit Bit by a friend when her DH bought her a new one emoticon I've been wearing it every day for quite a while, and the best I've done so far is 10,000 steps. I work 3 days a week in an office and I was getting out after work and walking, but now the temps are in the 3 digits emoticon emoticon here in Phoenix and walking outside after work isn't very appealing. I'm going to start using my Leslie Sansone walking video again. I do water walk/jog but the Fit Bit isn't waterproof only water resistant so I can't use it in the pool. Anyway, I'm hoping to get motivated by the threads on this team! I just synced my Fit Bit to Spark. I came back to Spark 8 days ago after being on WW for a few months. I have 15 lbs to lose at this point and it isn't cooperating emoticon I've been on Spark on and off for years and it's still the best site out there as far as I'm concerned.

Hi, y'all,

I am Dee-I currently reside in GA but consider Hawai'i my home state. I have lived in and/or visited all 50 states, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Austria, Germany, Puerto Rico, and a number of islands in the Caribbean. I was so happy to have found Sparkpeople several years ago and love the folks I have met here. I just got a Fitbit One after losing my beloved Spark Activity tracker. Just got it sync'd up this evening so will see how it goes..Always takes a while to get use to something different.

Hi, Michelle here joining ya'll on this footstepping journey! I have been using my fitbit for a year now and have had great success at moving more because of it. My best day was 35,000 steps but that is rare. I currently have a goal of 10,000 steps a day which is my target but some days it is hard to get that in because I do other exercise and track that separately.
Welcome to all!
Here is to a more active life thanks to fitbit!

Hi There. I have a Fitbit Charge, and it motivates me to keep moving! I started my journey over 300lbs, I've lost over 100. I have 29 more to lose for my goal weight. Much success to everyone!

Hi there!
I'm up to 15,000 steps a day and love the progress I've made so far. I don't know what I'd do without my fitbit and the gym!

Hey Everyone!

My name is Melody and I'm trying to increase my steps to make the 10,000 a day FitBit recommends. I'm a single mom of 2 teenage boys (12 & 14) who keep me very busy. I'm looking forward to future communications.

Have a good day!

Hi all. I'm Kim and have been away from SP for quite some time. I use grad school as an excuse, but it is truly an excuse. I have a FitBit and I love it. I am hopeful coming back.

Hi team. I am a newbie here. I have had my fitbit for well over a year and love it. My goal is 11,500 steps but I have recently gotten a desk job and sometimes find myself greatly lacking.

Hello Fellow FitBit users!!! I'm Jaime & I live in NE Ohio. I've had my Charge HR for about 1.5 years and I love it! My goal is to everyday get 10k steps in but sometimes I fall short. So I pick myself back up the next day and try again! I walk to Leslie Sansone at least once a week and love to go window shopping to get in steps. Hopefully the rain will stay away much of this summer and I can enjoy being outdoors! Anyone who wants a new FitBit friend can add me : jaimetant@gmail.com

Hello, everyone. I'm Tammy and I'm new to Spark. I've had my Charge HR for a little over a year, although I've been slacking a bit and have just decided to meet both my step goals and weight loss goal this month - 10,000 steps per day, and 10 pounds down. I've lost 25 since January and want to lose at least another 25 total. I'm 54 and live in New York State. I'm looking forward to making some new friends here! Happy Stepping!

Hey there fitbit sparkers

i've bought a fitbit flex for tracking as well as their scales, & I started Low Carb High Fat (vegetarian) eating 1 month ago. Love it all - so motivating. The weight is coming off easily, & I never feel hungry in between meals.

Hello I'm Shannon,
I had a Fitbit zip but it fell off my shoe and got lost so now I have a Fitbit Alta. I work a desk job in the emergency room and I don't get to walk as much as I'd like. I am looking for friends to challenge me to move a little bit more, a lot more!
Thanks :)
Shannon
