I have only had my Fitbit Flex for 48 hours and am already addicted! I've been actively trying to lose weight since Febuary but been very unmotivated to get up and moving. The fitbit makes me want to move move move! My weight has been a struggle since I graduated highschool. In the last 5 years I gained 100lbs. I have finally decided to take control of my life and get healthy! I'm excited to meet other Fitbit users here on Spark People. I live in Ontario, Canada with my common-law husband and our English Bulldog Lucy and grumpy old cat Bob. Looking forward to getting to know lots of you!

I am Jen. I purchased a Fitbit two years ago, wore it at home for about two weeks and then went hiking with a friend. When I came home it was gone -- lost in the mountains. Several months later someone on SP mentioned to me that Fitbit is great about replacing lost devices. I contacted them and told them my story. They were able to look online at my connectivity and saw that I hadn't connected to the computer in months. The device I had purchased wasn't being made any longer so they sent me a new Fitbit One!

I, too. am addicted to wearing it. I forgot it the other day and was crushed to find it that evening (attached to my nightgown!). I had already taken it out of the wristband in the morning when I broke from routine and threw on my robe to run downstairs. I couldn't possibly run downstairs without it, so I hooked it to my nightgown. My theory is that if you have to have an addiction, it's a great one to have!

Finally! I got my FitBit today and got it all set up and synced... finally. I tracked my food and I'm starting to get steps in. Tomorrow is the first full day with it! I'm excited!

BTW, my name is Sue. I'm in the Philadelphia area. I work in HR, in a mostly sedentary job. I'm hoping this will give me the extra oomph I need to keep moving.

I have been on Sparkpeople for a long time and have had my fitbit for about a year. I have not gotten serious about losing the large amount of pounds I need to....yet. I'm feeling better physically after having foot surgery in June of 2012 and like I could commit to a regular exercise program now with minimal foot pain. So I'm starting to get serious and need to put all the pieces together to start a consistent journey of weight loss. So here I am!

I have been with Sparkpeople for a long time, but never was serious enough about exercising until I got my Fitbit One. I think I am addicted to it. I want to get my 10,000 steps every day and then some. Today I clocked in 16,546. I find that I always want to do better every day.
I have lost 24 pounds since joining Sparkepeople, but the most of my weight loss has been since I started using my Fitbit. Its a great motivator.

Hey, Everybody! I'm Barb, and I've had my fitbit Flex since January. I love it! I have some "wishes, but in all, it's great! I know that I actually take more "steps" than it measures, even after "playing around with" the measured steps. That's okay... it's the results that matter, and the accountability. I've gotten rid of 42 lbs since last October by using a sandwich plate versus a dinner plate, food journaling, and getting back to the gym. I feel great!

My Hubby bought one, after seeing me journaling.... He's not "sold" on his (he's had some problems getting it to record sleep habits), but he's journaling his meals, and becoming "accountable," too! lol He had gastric bypass surgery last August, has just joined the "Century Club," and is determined to get rid of that last stubborn 20.

Thanks for the invitation, Rockman.

I'm Jenny and I've had my Fitbit Flex for about 2 weeks now. I work at a desk all day and I find it hard to get steps in. Any suggestions? So far I have been parking farther away from buildings and I have been marching in place while waiting for coffee to brew, the printer to calibrate, etc.

Hello! My name is Diane. I have been a member in limbo for quite a while. I recently bought as my newest motivation the fitbit zip. I am barely coasting at 5000 steps on some days. I am working on more time for me to kick start my journey with weight loss. I work the night shift at a hospital in Columbia SC. emoticon

Hello! My name is Danielle. I have two children and I am getting married in August 2014. I am new to Spark People and wanted to see what it was about and what it could do for me. I have been using myfitnesspal for the past 55 days since I started working out at the gym, watching my portions and drinking more water. I recently purchased a Fitbit One and the Aria scale and I love them so far! I have lost 11.1 pounds so far! My goal is to be at 140 pounds by March 1, 2015! I have 65 more pounds! Some days are hard but I am motivated to get there I just have to keep at it!

My FitBit has been great for my relationship. In order to try to make my 10k steps, I encourage my DB to go to the gym with me. That's time together not in front of the television screen. Win!

My husbands thinks it's a "sickness" because if I only have a couple hundred steps to get my 10K, I walk around brushing my teeth or whatever before bedtime. It's sure does motivate me. So what if I don't get to 10K everyday, you say? It's me competing against myself. I must do it if at all possible.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Maria, from South Jersey and just recently received my fitbit. What an awesome little piece of technology. I have been competing with myself to do (and go over) 10,000 steps each day.

Hope everyone has a great day :)

Hi, I'm Lali. Got my fitbit latter part of March and I'm finally picking up the pace. I'm loving that I'm actually motivated to get those steps in and I'm losing weight (along with Vegan diet). I'm hoping this team will motivate me even more and I hope I can do the same for you!

Hi!

I'm Aylamay, or just Ayla. I have been on Spark since 2012, and my weight has been going up and down like a yo-yo. My max was 196, and I got back down to 158 last fall, but then I was on a bad medication, and went back up again, now I am off the "bad drug" and I am back down to 178 since stopping the medication on 1/21.

A friend of mine gave me a fitbit for my birthday. I found out that I was much more active than I knew, going almost 6,000 steps a day as a busy homemaker and caretaker to my senior parents who both have organic brain disease.

For along time I had agoraphobia, but recently I have been going through a what can only be described as miraculous change, and have been leaving the house from time to time for the first time in nearly three years. My biggest fear is going to the grocery store, but I feel like I will be ready to conquer that challenge within the next couple of weeks!

Now that I am for the first time in three years leaving the house, I can't wait to see how the fitbit tracks my activity.

The biggest surprise for me with the fitbit? I learned I had a 99% efficiency in my sleep! How about them apples!

I look forward to being an active participant in this team, and look forward to getting to know a few of the 26,000 of you!

Ayla

Recently updated my daily goal to 12,000 steps as I read that can actually lead to weight loss, while 10,000 isn't enough. I'd been making 10,000+ a day for three months but not tracking food and hadn't lost a pound. So now 12,000 and tracking again, since that is the only thing that's actually made me lose weight in the past.

Hi
My name is Lora I live in upstate NY, I just got my Fitbit this week. I am still trying to figure out everything!
I have been with SP for awhile. My best results are this year, I started The Plan in May and have gone from 138 to 120, I am trying to get to 116-118 but anything below 122 I am considering myself in maintenance I achieved that in Jan!

Yes, the food tracked on SparkPeople transfers to FitBit, but when I entered mine on FitBit one night when SparkPeople was down it did not transfer to SparkPeople. I haven't tried it again though to make sure it wasn't just that one night that it wasn't working.

Fall seven times. Stand up eight.

My fitbit flex just arrived! It is charging - can't wait to get started.

If I log my food on Sparkpeople, will it transfer to my fitbit??

I'm a new Fitbit user and I'm just getting serious about my fitness for the first time. I weigh more now than I did when I signed up for SparkPeople, BUT - that is going to change!

Hello! My name is Jenni and I am new to SP as well as fit bit. I joined SP in February and just got a flex this past weekend.
I love m flex, it keeps me really motivated. I like that I can track in SP and that it shows up on my fitbit page.
This has been a tremedous motivation.
I am in the process of trying to lose 100 or so pounds and am a big fan of walking, so I like that you can track your steps.

Every once in awhile my FB doesn't synch for awhile but then it clicks in and is fine. It may be the different laptop. Maybe you have to use the little gizmo that comes with it that goes into the laptop. That was my problem once. Don't know if it'll solve your issue. Good luck.

Hello everybody. I have the ONE. It has been really good
and through the wash twice. It has not been syncing with
Spark for nearly 10 days now and I don't know what
else to do. I just realized that I have switched laptops,
so will have to install FB here as well. I find my FB is
a great motivator.

Hi all! I've been a fitbit flex user for 4 months. Prior to that I used the Lose It app and web page. I'm new to Spark People; and I am in the process of integrating the three programs. I am trying to lose between 3-5 pounds and would like to maintain an active lifestyle. Looking forward to advice from this group. emoticon

I just got my fitbit last 4 days ago, it is really a help on some things but others, I don't think it is very accurate. I do a lot of work in the barn and mostly am lugging things around and that time is not really recorded accurately, like throwing hay down, carrying it to pile it up, shoveling manure and pushing the wheelbarrow out the door. I think that has to do with lack of hand motion. My sleep patterns are very disrupted, and that really shows. When I do sleep I don't usually move at all, but rarely sleep for more then an hour without waking. I don't have sleep apnea, but I do work nights so I think my rhythms are mess up. Regardless I of the inaccuracy I think it challenges me to walk more and be more active in a fun way.

Reacquainted myself to Sparkpeople day before my birthday this January and purchased my Fitbit Force a week later on Amazon. It has been my buddy even since and am thrill everytime I hit the 10,000 step mark and it vibrates during my walk. It has definitely helped to keep me on track and measure my fitness - great tool!

Hi everyone!
I just bought my fitbit one. So recently, that it is charging now and has recorded no steps! LOL! That will change soon though. I am very anxious to begin tracking my activity. I can be in competition with myself, trying to hit a new high number of steps each day.

Hi everyone,
I just re-joined SP yesterday.. and bought my Fitbit One this afternoon. I've finally got it set up on my computer. I'm very curious to see what it says about my sleep. I went for a sleep study about a year ago and was told that I woke up 127 times while I was there. I didn't even know that was possible!
Anyway, here's hoping for a bit of success this time around.

Hi, folks!
I'm Sue, a native New Yorker, and I started using my FitBit Zip last week and am LOVING IT! I have the Spark tracker and it was a great piece of equipment (which was washed and dried twice and still works!!) but being able to read my steps without having to be near the computer has been incredibly helpful and encouraging to me.
My daughter is getting married in May and I really would love to lose my last few handfuls of pounds before then. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Love, Sue

Afternoon!
I bought a Force in January which I loved and returned during the recall. I missed it after a couple days and now I use the Flex. It really helps remind me to get up and away from my desk more often. The tracking site I used before was not compatible with the Fitbit so now I am here and getting the hang of things. So far, so good!

Find me on Fitbit!

Heya, My name is Ali. I got my FitBit Flex a few days ago. I've been wanting one for a while and so am very excited to finally have one. I love technology and hope that the use of my FitBit will help me more accurately track my calorie burning, steps, and sleep patterns.

Hi all! I just got my Fitbit last night as a birthday gift from my hubby. I'm trying to figure it out. I know that today's steps are going to be way off! Oh well. Anyone want to give me advice or help a newbie out, I'm ears.

Thanks.
