Hi, I'm RuthAnne from Florida, Tampa bay area. I just got started with my FitBit charge. I have had a One for a few years but I think the Charge is great so far. I really like the sleep tracker, I couldn't believe how often I'm restless and awake through the night! Yikes!

Hey Mary, just wanted to give a plug to my son. He helps to run a farm to table restaurant in Barrington. If you have the opportunity, visit Table in Barrington. OMG!!! So delicious. It's a very small intimate place where most of the employees are graduates/students of Johnson & Wales. My baby is a 5th year student there and the clientele just love him.

Hi, I'm Mary and I live in Rhode Island. I have a Fitbit Flex, and it's very helpful for making me remember to keep my steps up. This past Sunday was a lazy day, and I realized around 1 PM that I had only taken about 900 steps, which is less than I do around the office on a work day. It motivated me to go to Planet Fitness and walk on the treadmill and get my steps up to around 6,000, not ideal but much better than 900.

Hi! I'm Kathy and live in snowy PA. I just got my Charge HR and am learning all the idiosyncracies of its communication with SP. It's only been 2 days and already I'm noticing that I'm getting credit for more steps than I did with the SPAT. I also notice that my calories on FT are WAY different than the ones I'm allotted on SP. Has anyone else had a similar situation and, if so, how do you account for the differences in your weight loss plan?

I got the HR because I'm interested in the sleep monitoring function and, so far, I think it will be very helpful. One thing I did notice . . . when I took my device off for bathing, it recorded my bathing time as sleep time and I had to go to my dashboard and delete it manually.

Looking forward to getting to know you and working together for success!

Hi . I am Cristina and I've been using my FitBit One since June 2014. Got it as part of our work wellness program and I've already won the first challenge (70k steps per week for 26 weeks) ; now week 8 of #2 challenge and doing great.

I'm looking to get the new FitBit Charge HR as I need a HRM and I just bought a treadmill over the weekend. WeeHee

I've been using Spark since Apr 2006 ; faithfully until early 2010, but randomly since them; my old account was deleted as per my request (as I couldn't change the email I was using with it and had to close that one, too).

I'm 34, am a travel agent / consultant and live in Europe.

Hi all, my name is Marti. I used to use a Fitbit Flex then I went back to work in a busy office last February and spent more desk time then fit time so my Flex wasn't getting much use. I finally gave it away to a friend who was interested in getting one.

Well, a few weeks ago, I decided I needed to improve my activity level so I bought an inexpensive pedometer. It didn't work to well for me, so I invested in a Fitbit Zip. I've had it about a week and love it, but think I'm ready to go back to a Flex again, so I'll probably upgrade to it. I really like that I can sync my Fitbit right to my Spark account. That's a nice improvement.

Glad to see so many others using Fitbit, too.

Hi everyone! I'm not actually a Fitbit user *yet*, but today I ordered a Fitbit Charge HR from the the fitbit.com site and so am waiting for it to get out of the "ships in 2 to 3 weeks" backorder status! Technically I own a Fitbit Ultra that was given to me by my former employer, but I was sick and out of sorts at that time and didn't use it...didn't even open the box...and lately I tried it out and it's not working. I think either the battery is dead and won't charge, or the base station is dead and won't charge. Either way, the lights only come on when it's plugged into the computer, but the setup doesn't recognize it. Then I decided I wanted one of the types that could be worn like a watch. In any case, I'm really looking forward to getting the Charge HR when it arrives!

Hi!
I got my fitbit Charge after admiring my sister's Flex. But I always wear a watch and didn't want to wear both. I've had mine a couple of days and have tried out the step, sleep.
and alarm functions so far. Will work out today and see how it does there.

Hello,

I'm Maryann. I got a Fitbit Flex about a week ago because I lost my Sparktracker while walking. But then I found it on the ground on Base. LOL. So now I have both. Is it okay to join this forum if I only have my Sparktracker linked to Sparkpeople? I'm wearing both trackers so I can see my progress on Fitbit--and it links directly to Walgreens walking program, while ST doesn't.

I'm a mom to 3 kids, and 2 dogs (weiner and chiweenie). I work part time in an elementary school kitchen. Former military, and a hopeful writer. Been chunky-to-fat all but about 20 of my 49 years. Nice to meet you all!

Hi, all! I'm a homeschooling mom of 3, in Texas. Homeschooling I don't get a lot of steps in, so that's where the fitbit challenges me. I have a lot to lose, but am trying to actively get in 3 miles a day, plus any additional steps from daily chores and such. Would love to have some friends to challenge on fitbit, any takers??

Hey Everyone,

Gail here from Sunny (slightly windy now) Southern California. Been a FitBit user for about 3 weeks now, LOVE it. It works for me because I never take the darn thing off, my hubby thinks I am crazy. I am using it as my daily reminder to stay on track both with my steps and eating.

Hello from Whitehouse, TX! I received a Fitbit Flex for Christmas and I love it. It's fun to compete with my friends that are Fitbit users. We taunt each other lol but it's fun to compete. I'd love to connect with others, especially local.
I have a sedentary job so it's a challenge to hit my goal of 10K steps everyday. Any suggestions? I'd love to hear them! emoticon

Greetings! I used a gift card I received at (early) retirement 4 months ago to get a FitBit Flex. I love that it synchs to SP. I am anxious to quickly (?) lose the 15 pounds I put on so quickly after quitting work. Nice to connect with so many people with similar goals, to get or stay healthy.

Another Newbie here. I've been using the Spark Activity Tracker for about 4 months and got the Fitbit flex free through my insurance. There's a learning curve I hope to overcome.

Hi all! I too got a fitbit One for Christmas and so far I love it! My husband has had one for about 6 months and has lost 40 pounds! He's amazing. I had the SP activity tracker and was SO not impressed with it (not very accurate and only tracked steps). I LOVE that my FB syncs to SP! I need charts and such to help keep me motivated. I've also got my scale synced to it all ;) I've been a member since 2008, but now I really need to get serious and motivated! Here's to a new me!

I asked my son to get me a fitbit for Christamas. I really enjoy it. I have the app on my phone to monitor what I do each day. This pushes me to do more than what I have. I even push myself to do more.

Hi! I'm Heidi. I asked for a pedometer and the hub got me a fitbit zip, I love it. It makes me accountable. Since I've been wearing it every day I try to get more steps in. I take the dog for a walk, I hop on the treadmill and get up from my desk every hour and do a circuit down to the first floor, the end of the hall and up to the third floor before coming back to my desk.

I live in SE Alaska and the weather so far has been great! The days we did have ice I strapped on the Yak Trax and off I went. A couple weeks ago I woudn't have done that emoticon

Hi I'm Michelle! I recently purchased a fitbit zip with some christmas money. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like it as I've tried other trackers in the past and found them to be lacking. I'm really happy with the fitbit and I love it even more since I connected it to sparkpeople. I find myself on this site and the fitbit dashboard a few times a day. Nice to meet everyone! emoticon

Hello,

I am new to the team and have been a fitbit one user for over a year. I have now joined spark people to keep on track with my fitness goals. I try to get in 10,000 steps or more Monday - Friday and then do not do as well on the weekends but am trying to get to working that in as well.

Hi! I know that 10,000 steps a day helps a lot. I try to hit it on days I'm not doing any cardio. I have a bad hip, so I've been spinning over walking lately, but the fitbit keeps me honest!

I gave myself a Fitbit for christmas. It is the best present I've ever given myself in a looong time. I got it specifically because it syncs with Sparkpeople. I got a One so I could see the time if I press the button, so it can take the place of my watch. The silent alarms help me manage my diabetes, reminding me when to eat and when to check my sugars. I've had it a week or maybe 1.5 and it's helped a whole lot! I use a wheelchair sometimes so I wear it on my wrist, but it picks up a lot more activity that way, I just don't want to go back and forth between clip and wristband all the time. So I'll just have to remember that not every hand movement is a step and that the actual calories burned and distance and steps is a bit lower, but at least it also counts the wheelchair activity, which is pretty intensive for me and hard work!

I have had my fitbit charge since Dec 17th. I love how much it has motivated me to increase my activity and exercise. I have been an on again/off again sparks user. I have set myself some new short term goals that for the next 2 weeks I am going to log my food daily and exercise 5 d/week for 30 minutes. My new years resolution this year was to start putting in the recipes I use in the recipe box on spark people so it will help me log on and journal my intake. I do so much better when I am logging in my food and exercise. Feeling very motivated and excited.

Hi everyone. I'm new to Fitbit; I just got mine for Christmas--a One. Trying to figure it all out. I think I'm connected here at SP to sync my activity over from FB, but not sure about getting my food from SP to FB. Definitely like the One, but SP is my first love. emoticon Looking forward to learning more and getting to know all of you.

Hello Everyone
I am returning to Sparkpeople after a long while off and many pounds gained. I love my fitbit and moved up to the Charge after frying my One by wearing it in the ocean. What was I thinking? I love the way fitbit and Sparkpeople are working together!

Hi, I'm a FB Zip user. Today is the first time I've sync it with SP. Does anyone else use the FB zip? If so where do you find is the best place to wear it?

I just bought a Fitbit Flex. It's a late Christmas/early birthday present for myself (as if I really needed an excuse). I used the SparkPeople tracker for a little longer than a year, but after my Windows-operated laptop died and I bought a Chromebook, I had no way to sync it. Thus, I searched for an alternative.

I think I will like the Fitbit, because it fits on my wrist like a bracelet (and I also bought a set of three colored bands, so I can match my outfits [not that I'm all that fashion conscious most days]). I hope it stays on my wrist, because I was always worried about losing the Spark, which merely clipped onto my shoelaces or item of clothing.

I have already synced my Fitbit to SparkPeople. While I bought it after work today and didn't get many steps in, I am looking forward to seeing how it tracks my sleep tonight and getting to wear it a full day tomorrow. I still have a working pedometer I can use for step comparison (which drove me crazy when I used my pedometer with my Spark, because there was a huge difference in numbers).

Hello fellow fit bitters! My daughter bought me a fit bit for Christmas and I am so excited to meet others who use it. It has been fun to go to the dashboard and see all of the information it provides. I am a mom to four awesome kids, a wife, and a full time employee. My days are crazy. . .so this is an awesome tool for me to keep me motivated! Excited to be a member of this team. emoticon

My name is Rick, Iv'e been with SparkPeople since 2007, however the past few years have been tough with some health issues. My wife gave me a fitbit for Christmas and it has "Sparked" a new motivation for me. Still learning how to use it though.

Good afternoon all! My name is Lisa and I've had my Fitbit One for just over a year now - how I love this thing! It helped me train for an epic hiking tour in England last spring, and now I'm looking for ways to keep that mojo going!

I've been on vacation the past two weeks, but will get back into training in earnest tomorrow. I'll be walking my first half marathon in May, so the training program I joined will meet 2x a week. Not looking forward to walking in the cold, but I'm hoping the activity will keep me warm!

Hope everyone has enjoyed a great holiday this past month - I know I have... Happy New Year!

Don't get down on yourself, showing up is an important step. Sometimes I have to just give myself credit for getting to the gym to walk on the treadmill - it isn't a run but it is MORE than sitting on the couch. AND forgive yourself for being human, we all have bad days just don't let it become a bad week.

I have a few lbs to lose and that is my goal for this year, actually 19 lbs to start, small goals to reach the big one of 20 lbs.
Snowing out today, will walk on the treadmill and shovel.
Have a great day

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 47 and have 100+ to lose. My brother gave me his Fitbit One around Christmas because he was upgrading to the Charge HR. I was excited about it but REALLY excited about how nicely it integrates with SparkPeople. So excited in fact that we are talking about getting my husband one also so he can join in on the fun. emoticon
