Hi FitBit users!

I've been using my FitBit One for about 5 years or so. I love it that FitBit connects to Weight Watchers so I can rack up those Activity Points. Only recently joined SparkPeople, so I linked up my FitBit with my SparkPeople account. Now I can see the calories I've burned. Great feedback!

I'm a walker, not a runner, and I try to walk 10,000 steps per day.

Nice to meet you all.

Hello i joined spark people a couple of weeks ago, and today its my first day using the Fitbit. I have to lose approximately 30 to 35 lbs. Hopefully i will be able to do it and keep me motivated.
Happy to be part of the group, may be i need some support, because i lack motivativation and ussually leave the program of exercise because i dont see results. May be you can keep me motivated. Thank you all. Lets keep moving. emoticon emoticon

Hello!! I'm new to SparkPeople, but have had a fitbit for a long time. I guess it would help to actually utilize it rather than just "see what happens". ugh!!

Anyway, I'm ready to get busy and bust a gut. :)

Any helpful tips or feedback is greatly appreciated. I sure can't do this alone.

Hi Fitbit Team!
I have been on SparkPeople for a few years, on and off, weight up, weight down... My Fitbit HR was a Christmas gift (2015). It was one of the BEST gifts ever!!! It's like having your very own personal trainer with you everyday. It has been such a great help to my weight loss thus far. Thank you for allowing me into your Group!

Hi - I'm Donna - been a member of SparkPeople quite a while now. I used the SP tracker previously, but my employer bought us all Fitbits this Spring. I've been using the Fitbit app for our work challenges, but I really do prefer SparkPeople! I have the Charge and I love it!

Michelle, here. A long time Sparker. I finally broke down and got a Fitbit yesterday. I was very happy with my Polar sports watch for something like 8 years. In fact, it was my reward for getting to goal weight when I first made it there after having been on SP for about eight months back in 2008! But it was time to replace it. The band was kind of discolored, it was on it's 5th or 6th battery and the accuracy couldn't match that of all the new devices on the market.

Soooo.... I got the Blaze because it's the closest thing to a real watch. Now, I'm working on getting things set up. I just linked the Fitbit to Spark (I think!) and am looking forward to playing with my new weight loss tool. Might just be the motivational boost I work toward goal again.

Welcome any tips and advice!

Blessings, Michelle

Hi! My name is Grace and I am new to SparkPeople, and I have a Fitbit Alta that I have been using for a couple of months (upgraded from a fitbit one that I had for a couple of years). I have been on and off my weight loss journey over the past couple of years. Decided now is the time to get serious- open to suggestions/support/ and willing to support others as well.

Hi All, I've been on Sparkpeople.com since February 2010. Not sure when I actually joined this particular team, but have not been very active on it. I have recently become much more active on Sparkpeople and on Fitbit.com - so will work to be more active here as well. I'm a 49 year old Mom to 3 kids - B-22; G-Almost 19; B-17 1/2. I've just moved my daughter into her Dorm at College for her freshman year last Friday and am adjusting to not having her home. It frees up a bit more time for me to walk - not to mention when I visit her as she is about a mile and a half from the main campus at the top of a very steep hill and living on the top (7th) floor. My job is very sedentary, so I aim for a minimum of 5000 steps/day - but try hard to get closer to 10,000. Have lost a total of 60 lbs since I first joined SP - still looking to lose another 50 or so. My husband of 24 years is also working hard to lose some weight, so at least we are on the boat together! We like to walk, hike, play golf and ski.

Hi everyone, I got my fitbit last year, right before i found out i was pregnant & the exhaustion hit. He's now 7 weeks old & doing great so I am back to trying to lose weight. I've got about 60 lbs to lose. My goals are progressive so my first one is to walk a 5K, then walk/jog a 5k, then jog a 5k, then a 10K, then a half marathon, then a marathon, then a duathlon, then a triathlon. Granted that may take me a few years, but at least I know where I'm headed.

It has been a while since I've continually used SP. I used it to loose 50 pounds before so I'm back to get my health an in order. I've recently brought a FitBit Blaze and I'm glad I can link it with SP. My goal has been 5k a day now I'm moving up to 7k and finally 10. I'd love to join a challenge.

Hello, I am new to the team and new to Fitbit! It took me a while to learn how to sync my device with Sparkpeople (and I am hoping that my account was not deleted in the process -- long story) if so, I will just have to go back in, get a new account and get busy.

Hello, Fellow Fitbit Users.
My name is Madonna and I live in Illinois. I have one of the first, the simplest, fitbits, but it tells me what I want to know---my steps for the day. Our daughter has one of the "fancier" ones, and she likes it, so maybe I'll move up one day.

I've been on SparkPeople since 2012 when I became serious about my health. I drifted in/out but have been using the site consistently and seriously in the last couple of years.

I have a couple of medical conditions that diet and exercise can control, and my goal is to use diet and exercise instead of medication to keep them in check. My numbers have improved so I'm confident that as I continue to work at my health I'll meet my goal.

Keep walking.

Go team! Stay strong!

Good Morning sparkies...
I've been on sparks since 2010 & have been a fitbitter for much of that time...I wear it & use religiously. Being a previous night shift worker, before my retirement made the sleep tracking as important as the steps. Now retired & sleeping at night like the normal sleeping pattern, my focus of improving my movement continues. I started with the standard 10,000 a day & over the summer with it's great weather racked up an average of 17,000 a day. My all time record of over 140,000 steps was achieved during a 60 day challenge I gave myself which got me back to my set goal weight on August 21st....Now in maintenance, I am looking forward to keeping this movement up with winter just around the corner. Looking for fitbitter support to maintain my present weight control.

My name is Sandi, just turned 60 & teach senior fitness classes as a volunteer. Want to be fitbit friends? send me a spark mail email address!!! emoticon

Good evening! My name is Nicole. I've been on SP for a while now, but just now getting into getting myself healthy and fit. My husband gave me his FitBit Flex because he knew I would get more out of it than he is right now... we are planning on getting another one, so we can compete :) I am loving the fact that I can set the silent alarms to remind me to get my butt up and move.

Hi, my name is Karen. I just finished the 21 Day New Member Challenge. I just got my Fitbit Challenge HR. I love it. I have health problems that make exercise harder and I need to do them in short groups. The tracker helps me keep track of each group accurately and let's me be accurate for thw whole day.

I just received a fitbit and I am already loving it! In just the last couple of days, the silent alarm has helped me to remember to be more active!

Hi Everyone!

I am returning to SP after being gone for over a year. I have had my fitbit since May and love it. I was shocked to find out how much I am actually sleep though, I am determined to get the rest of my excess weight off. I have several health issues but am not going to let them be an excuse any longer.

Have an awesome Sunday everyone!

Hi all, I've had my Fitbit Charge HR for 6 weeks now. I love it a lot more than I thought I would. I'm really enjoying challenging myself and doing some friend challenges. It has motivated me to get up from my desk more and take walking breaks. I'm averaging about 12K daily steps right now. The HR and sleep info is an added bonus, too. No complaints or questions from me. I just wanted to join a group of people who also enjoy their fitbits!

Good luck reaching your goals!

Hello Everyone:

I'm Rozz and I have re-engaged myself with SparkPeople to make myself accountable to my weight loss and nutrition goals. My immediate goal is to lose 20 lbs which would be 10% of my current weight. I have all the tools to be successful just slow to get started and lack the motivation to "stick with it" so I am relying on my SparkPeople circle to help me out. emoticon

I do like to walk and consistently wear my Fitbit Charger. My average step count is 6000+ daily. My step goal is the 10,000 daily.

Hi. I have been on Spark before but am starting fresh. I use my FitBit One and try to do 10,000 steps, but it is hard to get that high most days. I also use it to track my biking miles by putting it on my shoe or in my pocket. Cycling is my preferred choice of exercise during the summer.
I am almost 52 and losing weight has been a true struggle as I've gotten older. I am planning on reaching my goal weight by my 53rd birthday (October 2017). I saw a video of my husband and I dancing and it seems that is what I needed to get me going again---I was not impressed with how I looked!

Good morning team, I am new to the site but have had my Fit bit one for six years total after two being replaced by the Fit Bit company.

I am going for at least 10000 steps a day but most days exceed that amount.

I love golf and I prefer not to use a golf cart and walk the course which my fit bit tracks every step, wish it could improve my game but if it were not for the wild T offs I would not get as many steps per game.

Glad to find a team with a common tool to use on our journey.

Sandy

Hello Everyone! I'm back on sparkpeople for what feels like the 100th time. I swiched jobs from Daycare to Office work 2 years ago, and have gained back all the weight I lost for my wedding. I just got a fitbit alta, and love that it reminds me to move during the day! It's easy to forget you've been sitting for so long.

Hello fellow Fitbit Users! I'm Monyee and just got my replacement Charge HR this week. I walk (slowly) and practice Tai Chi. I'm also starting to track my nutrition again. That seems to help me to eat healthier. I'm almost 58 y/o, married, empty nester with three daughters (two in college and one working in Santa Cruz). I'm looking forward to sharing this journey to healthier living with you all.

Hello, I am Tsinsin, or Cindy for normal folks.

I have a Fitbit One, and wear it every day. Sometimes I just wear it for company, and sometimes it brings me good news. One day it told me I walked up 97 flights of stairs, and I believed it. There were a lot of stairs that day. It went on vacation to Germany with me, and we visited a lot of really pretty places. But sad to say, my Fitbit seems to think that grocery shopping is not fun and tends to want to hide in the grocery stores. Especially Costco. It hid under a couple of pallets in the Costco store, and hide really well. I was sure that I was going to have to replace it, but could not make up my mind which one I really wanted. Then, I got a small envelope mail shipper and there was my fitbit. It came back to me with a really nice message from the Fitbit folks. Someone found it, and sent it to them, and they sent it to me.

Later, we are going for a walk.
Cindy

Hi, I'm Carrie. New Fitbit owner. I got the ALTA for my birthday. It's only been a week but already it's reminding me to move.

I started out with a 10,000 step goal, but I think I'm going to crank it down to 5 or 6,000 and work my way up. Don't want to get burned out or depressed over not making my goal.

Have a great day.

Hi - just joined this team when I was updating my FB settings here on Sparks! I decided since I haven't been reaching my step goals that I'd better get some extra motivation! So here I am!

Now, I'm going to get off the computer and reach my daily goal of 5,000 steps today! emoticon

Hello fellow fitbit users:
My name is Les, and just wanted to introduce myself.
My first fitbit Charge HR went dead. They have just sent me a new one cause I was still under warranty.
However, I have forgotten how to set the time! I remember, either on my mobile device or on my computer, you could choose different ways for the time and date to appear. But, I forget how to get to it.
Anyway, if anyone could help me with that, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Sincerely,
Les

Never mind. I've called customer support and they helped me out, so I'm good now!

My son got me this for my 69th birthday this month. I decided I would use this as a 'start-over' motivation. I have been a SP member for about 3 years, but find myself slipping backward due to arthritis issues with my knee and toe joints. Ouch to walking! But...visited my son and kept up with the family somewhat and it made me feel better. So...going to try to keep it up. I will have to learn how to see my Fitbit results on SP boards...I actually loved the way the little Spark tracker just would sync my steps in. Hope the Fitbit does the same?

Never give up!

Fairly new user to Fitbit, but not to Sparkpeople. I was using the SPAT to upload my data to Spark, but it had a major malfunction (I puppy sitting, and puppy chewed it to bits off my shoe -- I was relieved he didn't swallow it or the battery!).

I don't know how much I'll hop onto the conversation threads for FitBit Users Unite.....happy to say hello to all. So far I love my Fitbit Charge HR!

Wishing you the best with your health and fitness goals! emoticon

Hi all,
I live in the north of England. Been on and off Spark for years, up 10lbs, down 7 lbs and now need to get rid of that 10lbs again ( at least) . Fairly fit, not really that heavy- just always a little over the BMI mark.
Got fitbit alta last week and think this might give me the push I need.
Yesterday it rained all afternoon and evening. Usually that would put me off walking, but NO, I put on my jacket, got wet but did 11,136 steps by end of day.
Liz
