I've had a problem with syncing and through the web site found out that there is a little hole in the bottom of the thing to stick a pin in to reset it. I know that I didn't have the fitbit on it and I think that it was plugged into the computer. Has worked fine since!!
that has happened to me too about every few wks or so and I do what you do...unplug it and then replug it back in...sometimes I have to press the little button on the underside for it the sync up as well. Don't know why it does it but I have a little game going...how long can I go before it doesn't sync up!! I guess it's the quirks of technology...still needs human help to get it right!!

I know this is a bit late, but I have problems with it syncing and when I do, I have to unplug it from the computer and plug it back in. Not sure why I have to do that but when I do it starts working again.

Thanks everyone, I already tried squeeze it and tried a different computer. Now it's syncing but not showing up on the tracker screen. Hmmmm. Will try un install it etc. Customer Service suggest that I reset it. That didn't work. It wouldn't reset. Then that I update firmware. That helped it to sync but the screen is still blank. Waiting to hear their next suggestions. They email back pretty quickly.
I have 3 gold prongs too. Whew, I thought maybe I broke it already
THERE ARE ONLY 3 GOLD PRONGS ON ONE SIDE OF THE FITBIT...THE REST ARE EMPTY SINCE THEY FIT INTO THE GOLD PRONGS ON THE TRANSMITTER CONNECTED TO YOUR COMPUTER. I HAD SOME TROUBLE WITH IT SYNCING TO ONE OF MY COMPUTERS AT HOME SO I MOVED IT TO ANOTHER AND HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE. I JUST GOT MINE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
I WOULD TRY RESETTING IT BY DELETING THE OLD DOWNLOADED PROGRAM AND THEN DOWNLOADING THE PROGRAM AGAIN AS IF WAS NEW. I HAVE WINDOWS XP AND I HAD TO CLICK ON ALOT OF BOXES THAT CAME UP BECAUSE IT KEPT SAYING THAT FITBIT AND WINDOWS WOULDN'T BE COMPATIBLE. IT WASN'T UNTIL AFTER I CLICKED ON ALL THOSE BOXES IGNORING THEIR WARNINGS THAT THE PROGRAM COULD DOWNLOAD.
I have three, all in a row. The other two are blank. Sometimes you just have to squeeze a little (gently!) when the fitbit is on the station...or try a different USB port for the base. Good luck! Support is really great, so I am sure they will take good care of you!
I'm so glad I thought to find a fitbit team on sp. Just got my fitbit in December. i think it's broken already. can anyone tell me if their fitbit has golden prongs at the bottom on the inside where it connects to the base station... how many???????????/ I think a few of mine are missing and that's why it isn't syncing.
i have emailed them and they told me to reset it. It won't reset. waiting for reply from fifbit. sad
