Hi! I used to be more active on SparkPeople, but fell off when I moved a couple of years ago, came back for a while, then I had surgery, blah, blah. Fell off the wagon as far as the exercise but I've progressed big time in regard to greening my family's lifestyle. We've recycled since the 90's, but now I actively working on reducing the stuff we buy and the packaging that stuff come in. We've belonged to a CSA for two years and I supplemented a bit this year in my own organic plot (bad gardening year in the Northeast). I compost. I'm looking into local poultry (free range). I have an app on my phone that tells me which fish I can buy without guilt! We purchase very little packaged food (I can't seem to give up stewed tomatoes & canned beans tho'!) We use the wheat kitty litter and we've eliminated chemical cleaners around the house. Hubby is standing firm about brands of toilet paper & facial tissue but I've gotten him to limit his paper towel habit.
hmmmm, what else? I drive a hybrid but still limit my trips and group errands. We added insulation to our home and work with passive solar issues here. I use low-VOC paint. We still have a long way to go but I'm looking forward to getting new ideas from this group.
