Hello, back, Terri B! I don't get on this as often as I should, but wanted to welcome you as well! I read your intro. Sounds like a great trip planned to Alaska. I hear the mountains there are beautiful! My heart belongs to Colorado. My husband and I plan to move close to the Rocky Mountains after we get our 4 kids through college! Meanwhile, we wait on God's timing. May He bless an strengthen you as you press on towards your goals. we "can do all things through Christ!"--Robin (Lightshiner10)

Hi Terri
Well, what a great intro. Apart from the quilting we have similar interests. I love walking and do lots of it. My dog has hypothyroidism so I know what you were/are going through. He is on lifelong meds. With perimenopausal symptoms do you mean the hotties? Well I know what they are like too. I get them really bad and mine are very painful as I get adrenaline rushes with it or rather first comes the adrenaline and immediately after I get the most enormous hot flush which drenches me and leaves me exhausted.

It's getting late here and I need to go to bed. Welcome to the group and I hope you reach your goal.

Something to think about:
Negative feelings produce negative thoughts, negative thoughts produce negative actions, negative actions receive negative actions.
The same goes for positive feelings.

If you'd like to begin a personal relationship with Jesus today, please pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I invite You into my life. I believe You died for me and that Your blood pays for my sins, I now turn from everything I know is wrong. Thank you for the gift of eternal life, By fait

Hello,
I am excited to be a new member of SparkPeople and of Christians Walking in Faith Spark team this April 2010. I am 51 years old, married to my husband David for 29 years and we are the proud parents of two daughters. Our oldest daughter, Jennifer, is married, an elementary school teacher, and is expecting our first grandchild in early July of this year. We feel so blessed that God is bringing this new life into our family. It is a true honor, blessing and responsibility to raise her up as a child of God. It is a girl! The kids surprised me by deciding to name her after me. She will be named Arcadia Lynn (Lynn is my middle name)! I am honored! Our youngest daughter, Sarah, will be a Senior in college studying Elementary Education with a specialty in bilingual education. She begins student teaching in the Fall, and can't wait. We are blessed to have two teachers in the family. They are continuing the tradition of their paternal grandmother. My husband and I will be married 30 yrs. (I don't know where the time has gone!) this June. We are currently planning our anniversary trip, an Alaskan cruise. We are new to cruising, only our second. We are really looking forward to it. I love to travel, but haven't been able to do much so this is very exciting! I am a Physical Therapist and work part-time in Home Health. I treat patients who qualify for Home Health services in their homes. I believe God called me to this profession. I love serving God, by serving HIS people, who are struggling with health issues. It is an honor to serve those in need. It can also be a very stressful occupation. Caring for people is not just a job to me. My clients and their families invite me into their homes, lives and hearts. Relationships are built. My hobbies include: daily devotionals/reading my bible, quilting (for 4 years now), learning to crochet, walking, scrapbooking, bible study and listening to christian music. I recently walked in my first Crop Walk to end hunger worldwide. I completed the 3 mile walk! It was very rewarding! I had never done anything like that before. I have struggled with my weight most of my life. Last year I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and currently take medication. It has helped my energy level tremendously! I continue to struggle with perimenopausal symptoms. This is improving though, since starting bio-identical hormone therapy.
I am looking forward to meeting other christian women who strive every day as I do to walk the journey of faith. God bless each of you.
