Hello everyone! I am a former Sparker that has been MIA for about 5 years. A lot has happened to me over those 5 years that led me to forget about myself, and as a consequence, I gained 30 lbs! I spent yesterday rereading my old blogs and now I am disgusted with myself that I let it get to this point. I remember being so excited that I was down to 240 and in a size 18, and 5 years later, I find myself at 272 and a size 24. I have been getting back on track with my eating and exercising. I do Zumba twice a week in a class (hoping to work up to more), walk/run at our local track with my family 3 times a week, and occasionally do my own Zumba at home. I have lost 4 lbs in the past week, so I am excited to be back on track.
I am married with a 14 yr old daughter who keeps us busy with track and dance. I just lost my job as a Special Education teacher due to my certificate expiring, and am currently enrolled in a Master's program to get the credits I need to renew my certificate. My husband has been out of work for over 2 years, so we are both scrambling to find work. I am in the process of starting my own dance studio, exclusively for students with impairments. It has always been my dream to teach dance to this population...allowing me to have both my loves (students with impairments and dance). Until that takes off however, we need income! Hoping something comes along soon for both of us, the job market in our area stinks! But despite this, I am determined to make a change this time, make my husband and daughter proud, but most of all, finally take time for myself!
It is good to be back!!!!! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and reconnecting with old members!
May your paths be lit by your inner light-Janet
